Whimsy

My husband is sometimes overcome by whimsy
It's one of the things I love about him.
So he built a gigantic slingshot.
Just because he's always wanted to make a giant slingshot.
It is now the centerpiece of our garden picnic table.
It's actually quite beautiful.
He's using it to shoot apples into the barnyard.

H1N1 has left the building.
It was pretty mild, although Ben did puke 11 times.
He says he's sure he made it into the Guiness Book of World Records.

I am reading Olive Kitteridge for my book club.
I am writing for my class with Cathy Zielske.
I am planning a ton of layouts.
I am savoring the last sweet days of summer.

Timmy! I've been accumulating hunks of lead for a trebuchet counter weight for some time. I think we have enough. But first up,, a more portable and powerful assault slingshot. This one is gonna need a winch and trigger mechanism. You in?

Ugly and Violent it is not! This simple and elegant tool is used to gently lob unwanted fruit a bit farther from the tree so bambi and her mom can find the succulent morsels easily among the pasture flowers. It even ruptures the skin ever so slightly to allow the fruity aroma to excape into the gentle evening breeze.

now how could that be a bad thing.just a beautiful piece of lawn art that does such a wonderful thing for the animals and cleans your yard at the same time

Gimme a break boys. Everything with you guys always ends in trouble. And bambi, don't be throwing bambi into the mix for reader sympathy.Should I share the story about the time you guys skinned that poor little bambi? With your truck?
