Technique Club Card

Hi Stamping Friends!

I ran across some cards I made with my technique club, way back in May and June.  Since I didn'y share them with you then, I thought I would share them throught the week.  All of these cards were CASEd from somewhere off the web.  But it's been so long since I made them, that I can't remember the original artist.  So if you designed any of the technique cards I will be showing this week... THANK YOU for sharing your amazing talent with the cyberworld!

ELEMENTS OF STYLE

This card uses the spotlight technique.  Only one setion of the image is colored or "spotlighted".  I love that it used the butterfly die instead of just a circle punch, which is usually the norm.  I also love the shabby, vintage style of this card.  I'm really trying to do more shabby cards, but my personality doesn't lend itself to "mess stuff up" on purpose.  :)

The colors I used were Spft Suede, Crumb Cake, and Not Quite Navy.  The DSP is now retired, it was called Bella Bleu.  It is not this bright IRL.  It is a much more subtle color.  My club ladies LOVED this card.  And it was fun to make!

Be sure to stop back by tomorrow.  It will be ColourQ Tuesday!

I had so much fun with my Mystery Hostess Club on Sunday.  I thought I would show you the three fabulous projects that we made.

First up the card that set the stage for the other two projects.  We learned the Faux Silk technique which is really easy and a lot of fun.

I used the samples in the October Stampin' Success (a demo only mag from SU! another great reason to become a demo!) as my inspiration, as well as a card from JosannaP that I saw on SCS.  The colors are Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive, Crushed Curry and Dusty Durango.  The stamp set we used is called Falling Leaves. The panel is embossed using the Weave Texturz Plates.  I used the Hemp Twine as embellishment, because I think it looks rustic and fall-ish.

Here's the matching candle:

We used the Bright Blessings Jumbo wheel and the Falling Leaves stamp set for this project.  I picked up the pillar candles from our local Dollar Tree Store.  The wrap is made using Crushed Curry cardstock.

The final project is a little box using the Matchbox die:

The box is made with Chocolate Chip Textured cardstock.  The tag is punched with the Curly Label Punch.  The sentiment is from the Falling Leaves set.  See the little Mini Library Clip?  Isn't it cute?!  Don't forget to get them on sale this week!  The ribbon is our Polka Dot Grosgrain in Crushed Curry.  I think this would make an adorable place card for Thanksgiving.  You could replace the Grateful sentiment with each name of your guest.  The best part is that it fits four Hershey's Nuggets inside.  And who doesn't need a little chocolate after eating all that fowl?!

Falling Leaves  #115368  $21.95

Bright Blessings Jumbo Wheel  #115626  $8.50

Oh wow!!

I can't believe I haven't posted since April! Time sure flies doesn't it. Well, I'm back and I hope to keep blogging again. At least for a while. :) I joined a new stamping community called Stampin' Addicts. It's a very friendly place and I look forward to getting to know more paper fanatics like myself. They have lots of wonderful Stampin' Up! projects. I tried out their color challenge. Considering I haven't stamped since May, this was a challenge!

Basic Gray, Barely Banana and Whisper White. I used an old stand by set and sketch. I also want to show you what we did at the August Mystery Hostess Club night. Two fun projects with lots of purse-onality!

Aren't they cute!! I totally CASEd them from the gallery at SCS. They use the new in colors, Rich Razzleberry, Crushed Curry, and Melon Mambo. Plus the gorgeous DSP Razzleberry Lemonade. Stay tuned this week for more fun stuff. I put together 20 cards this weekend for my Christmas Jingle Card Class coming soon. I'll posting a card a day for 20 days. The class will cost $45. Not sure the date and time yet, but I'll let you know soon.

Tuesday's Technique Club

Hi Stamping Friends!

If you were not able to come to Tuesday's Technique Club, we missed you! If you are not part of the Technique Club, you should be! The next round of clubs will begin in July. Sign-ups will begin in June. The two techniques we practiced were watercoloring with re-inkers and the baby wipe technique. You can learn more about these, and other fabulous techniques in the tutorial section of Splitcoaststampers.
Here are the two projects that we made:
The first project is a scallop card using the large Sizzix Scallop Circle die. It was cut out with Rose Red cardstock. The Kiwi Kiss layer was cut using my Circle Scissors and then textured with the Tiny Dots Texturz Plate. The flower is from Petal Pizzazz. The ink we used for the baby wipe technique was Rose Red, Kiwi Kiss, and Pretty In Pink. The sentiment is a Level 1 Hostess set called Sweet Little Sentiments. It's punched out with the small oval punch. The center of the flower is covered with green micro beads.

The second project is a shameless CASE of the great JanTink. You can check out her gojus version and tutorial here on her blog: Stamps, Paper, Scissors. We used four envelopes of the Scallop Envelope SU! Sizzix die using the SAB Delicate Dots DSP. The scallop was cut from SU! watercolor paper using the #2 Scallop Circle die from SU! and Sizzix. We watercolored the egg (Wagon Full of Fun) using Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue, So Saffron and Pink Pirouette re-inkers. And you thought those little bottles of ink were just for your ink pads!
