I have a dear friend who owns a garden centre, and she often invites me to visit when she’s nearby.

During my last visit, she introduced me to a vibrant pomelo tree laden with fruit. I shared with her that pomelo is my mum's favourite fruit and recounted our delightful adventure to Nakhon Prathom, where we indulged in heaps of pomelo and even brought some home with us.

While the fruits appeared beautiful, my friend pointed out that some were already rotten inside. Despite their fresh exterior, several were infested with bugs deep within.

This led me to reflect on how our lives resemble these pomelo fruits. Some of us may look vibrant and healthy on the outside, yet we might be experiencing pain or turmoil inside. Additionally, some individuals might be enhanced by external factors, but their emotional and social maturity could be lacking.

One day, a child asked me if I was happy. I confessed that I wasn't. He noted that I often tell jokes, prompting me to explain that not everything we see on the outside reflects our inner reality.

So, I ask you: Are you truly as you appear? Are you innately happy?
