in my garden

A new addition to the house!

Two years ago, my garden was a repository of things bountiful and beautiful.  There were trees that bore mangoes year round.  There were two ponds inhabited by fish and toads.  There were lines of flowers and greenery that I meticulously hand-picked and taken with utmost care.

Through some twists of poor fate, I was forced to leave my place that became my second home.   It took me weeks to uproot most of my plant to transport them to another place.  It took me weeks to clear up the entire house of my books and valuables.  Most were given away, years of memories collected but worth the spring cleaning I needed.

My house at present is miles away from the grandeur and bounty of my previous garden.  I am surrounded by hard tiles, though with interesting designs, but incomparable to the wetness of dirt and the richness of brown earth.  I still made my area inviting to living creatures and one of the finest gift I got was the birth of a baby bird right inside the front lawn.

I looked at my departure from house one to house two as a big loss.  However, I need to see the greatness of the NEW and compare it not to the resplendence of the OLD. That life is not always roses, but life can be planted with flowers to make it pleasant and worth living for.

I love to move houses! They are like a new chapter of my life's story book with new energy. Now I have learnt to plant everything in big pots so that they could move too with less fuss. I learnt from my earlier mistake too for planting everything into the ground to create the best landscape in my neighbourhood.
Mahirap para sa akin ang paglipat ng ibang tirahan. At ang iiwanan na bahay ay minsan nalang puntahan.
