"I couldn't stop reading this wonderful tale of sex and wicked desire. Ms. Reed's descriptions of gowns, attitudes, and social events showed a tremendous amount of research that ensured historical accuracy. I will definitely be looking for more from this talented author." --Coffee Beans & Love Scenes (4.5 Cups)

#NewRelease: A Lady's Temptations: A Winter's Regency Ménage
A Lady's Temptations: A Winter's Regency Ménage Now available!
February 1814
Her mind should have been on the
wondrous winter masquerade she and her cousins were headed to, but it wasn’t.
Sarina Hunt could not seem to quash
the sadness she carried with her from London
to this beautiful little village. A sadness that felt like a heavy trunk
brimming with rocks and one of her own doing that should have been resolved
long ago.
Usually, when she thought of Mr.
Liam Trevelyan and Mr. Prescott Sinclair, those thoughts were accompanied by
very unladylike fantasies. Fantasies that heated her skin even in this cold
carriage and ones she only just managed to keep hidden when around them.
Sarina had acknowledged her
feelings to herself some months ago, but if she’d been truly honest, she knew
even long before that. The problem was, she should’ve warmed to one over the
other by now. She should’ve chosen which man she’d have been better suited for.
Or which man was better suited to
her.
However, she could not seem to.
Sarina had never truly been a butterfly of a girl—flittering from man to man to
assess her most advantageous prospect. She didn’t like that, pitting one suitor
against another. It was not the game she played; she didn’t like games of this
sort at all.
Through sheer force of will alone,
she managed to push those thoughts to one side, not deep enough to ignore,
never that, though her skin still felt flushed and her blood hot in her veins.
Swallowing hard, she affected as casual an air as possible as she adjusted her
deep blue cloak, the fur trim brushing sensuously along her cheek.
She gazed out the carriage window
as Kingsnorth came into view, and red bunting draped over everything. It wound
around the evergreen branches heavy with frost and snow, and up the unlit
streetlamps.

#Excerpt A Lady's Temptations: A Regency Winter Menage
Nerves danced in her belly, but
they were nothing compared to the heat racing through her veins. Sarina
swallowed, her heart stuttering in her chest, but knew she wanted this. She’d
almost lost them, almost died in the fire that had ripped through Kingsnorth.
Whatever happened tomorrow, she
wanted to make sure both men understood how important they were to her. A part
of her wondered if this had always been the outcome: the three of them,
together.
For a heartbeat she wondered if
Prescott and Liam felt for each other what they did for her, the burning need
to be with both. But then Liam took one hand and Prescott the other as they led her to the
bed. Sarina had the feeling they truly had worked things out between
themselves. Not saying good-bye, not accepting her marriage to Lord Strathmore,
but sharing.
She didn’t know what that entailed,
but if the excitement running along her nerves was anything to go by, she
looked forward to it.
Liam stood behind her, his hands
large and warm on her bare skin as he slipped his robe off her shoulders.
Sarina’s breath caught, but she didn’t stop him. Propriety had fled and she had
no desire to try and find it. This was what she wanted.
And when his lips grazed her skin,
over one shoulder to the sensitive side of her neck, Sarina forgot she was
supposed to have any objections in the first place. Her eyes fluttered then
closed, her skin on fire. Liam’s lips tasted gently over the soft spot between
her shoulder and neck, and she shuddered.

Coming September 7: A Lady's Temptations
The model is Jay. Gorgeous eyes! Very nice lady, too.

Miss
Sarina Hunt looks at her life two ways: with pragmatism and self-reliance. In
all things, that is, except love. No pragmatic woman loves two men and hopes
for a life with both of them, not in 1814 England. Sarina refuses to choose
between them and so does the only thing possible. She breaks it off with them
and puts her name back on the marriage market.
Prescott
Sinclair and Liam Trevelyan have been the closest of friends and respected
business partners. And they both love Sarina. Rather than make her choose one
over the other, they’ve proposed a ménage, one that keeps all three in each
other’s lives and Sarina in both their beds.
But when a twist in her fortune causes Sarina to contemplate marrying another, will Prescott and Liam be able to tempt her with the possibility of their happy ending? Or will Sarina’s pragmatic loyalty to her family ruin any chance she has at love with her two men?
This story is a 55,000 word het ménage (m/f/m) with interfering cousins, sexy sneaking around, and jealous suitors.

Wednesday Regency: Frost Fair
I've written about the frost fair before, but now that I'm writing 2 books
that take place during the winter of 1814 I wanted to post a few
pictures. Because pictures are fun!
Here are the article highlights from The Daily Mail's article on it:
River Thames in London froze at least 23 times between 1309 and 1814, with first recorded frost fair in 1608
Period from mid-14th to 19th century in Europe is referred to as the 'Little Ice Age' due to severity of the climate
Unlicensed gambling, drinking and dancing were held at fairs, along with stalls, skittle alleys and fairground rides
Souvenirs and personalised keepsakes also available for a few pennies, with printers setting up printing presses

Wednesday Regency: Sex
Did I catch your attention? Regency romances, to me at least, fall into 3 categories:
Traditional (no sex)
Modern (steamy sex)
Erotic (no need for an explanation there)
I prefer most of my stories with either steamy or erotic sex, but writing an historical is harder. There are all those Regency sensibilities. After all there's a reason Elizabeth and Darcy didn't have any sex in the book!
Even in my Regency Menage Tales, I had to play with historical accuracy. Jumping into bed too soon and it's not really an historical. There was no 3rd date rule. But playing around with that accuracy is half the fun! With the fear of discovery, with the threat of ruination and ostracized from society, and with all those other little things that come about by not going to your wedding night a complete virgin.
After all, what's an erotic romance without a hint of danger and discovery?
What do you prefer? Erotic Regencies (or historicals any era) where the couple (or threesome) sleep together quickly? Or where the tension is drawn out?

Wednesday Regency: m/m hotness
Last week I posted a poll--what story would you like to see? Informal, not inclusive, and certainly not written in stone, the one response I had was a hot m/m Regency.
Which tells me that the Regency is certainly not dead!
So, I've been playing with some ideas and think I can definitely make that work. A m/m short Regency story. I'm on it.
Any other must-haves?

Future stories: Poll
I have several stories coming out in the next few months, and several I'm in the process of planning/plotting/writing. But I have a couple ideas running around my head and can't decide on a direction.
Would you rather see...
1. MMF (menage where everyone has sex)
2. MFM (hetrosexual menage where the men don't have sex)
3. MF (a super erotic one)
4. MM
I'm thinking of returning to the Regency Era, I had so much fun with that time period and might do some short stories there after I finish up my current projects. Thoughts?

Excerpt: Risque: A Regency Menage Tale
Risque: A Regency Menage Tale
“I must apologize, Lord Rowan for my brashness. I had
been led to believe something untoward had occurred.” She offered a sincere
smile. “Please forgive me; I’m only here out of concern.”
Rowan took her outstretched hand and kissed the back
of it. “I’m honored to be the recipient of such concern, Mrs. Prescott. There’s
naught to forgive.”
Curtsying again to him in farewell, Alix turned to
leave. Did Kane truly lie or did Rowan simply not admit such a thing to her? She
had no way of knowing the truth. She hadn’t gone but a couple steps when Rowan’s
voice stopped her.
“There was one thing.”
Rowan didn’t continue and Alix turned to face him.
His smile was downright wicked and she felt a flush of arousal.
“Oh?” she asked, hoping her voice sounded more
curious than breathless.
“Mr. Huntington assisted me as I changed into a new
vest.” Rowan’s smile didn’t abate with this cryptic sentence. “He commented as
to your preference in colors, how you preferred darker tones to brighter ones.
I knew then who it was you played your games with.”
“A game,” she said, more harshly than she intended, “you
should never have fallen into the middle of.”
If possible, that smile turned even wickeder. Arousal
pooled between her thighs, shocking her. Not only because she’d never
considered Rowan anything other than a diversion to her game with Kane, but
because Alix still very much wanted Kane.
Rowan stepped closer to her, voice dropping
seductively. “I don’t mind being in the middle. In fact,” he added, lips a
breath from hers, “that would be a rather prized place to be, between you and
Huntington.”
Scandalized, aroused, Alix froze where she was. Rowan
didn’t attempt to kiss her, nor did he move away. His green eyes bore into
hers, holding her in place. She licked her lips, another vision of the pair of
them together sending a bolt of need through her so powerful she could almost
taste it.
“Then Kane didn’t lie,” she managed. “You and
he…engaged in sexual relations?”
He moved closer, still not touching her and Alix
suddenly wanted him to. “I admit, I have a touch of libertine in me.”
4.5 Cups from Coffee Beans and Love Scenes: I couldn't stop reading this wonderful tale of sex and wicked desire. The characters truly came to life through wonderfully written characters who shared their trains of thought at will keeping the reader entranced and yearning for more.
