Set in the Victorian era London, a Prince posing as a mysterious painter fell in love with an unfortunate pretty lady from the streets- a prostitute to be exact. He spent endless time painting nude portraits of these beautiful unfortunate ladies of the streets of London.

Then they were wedded in a beautiful Chatholic Cathedral. Later, they had a child named Alice.

The Royal family ordered these women who witnessed the secret wedding ceremony to be silenced so as to cover up the Royal family scandal.

One fateful night, a group of man break into their cosy home and separated them. It was then when all the troubles started.

BODY DISCOVERED - MURDER ONE 3:40 AM, Sept 1888: Two workmen discover the body of Polly Nichols. One thinks she is dead, the other assumes she is drunk. They pull her skirt down. Only later, at the morgue, is it discovered that her abdomen has been "ripped" open, from breastbone to pelvis, exposing her intestines. A preliminary canvas of the neighborhood uncovers no witnesses; no one heard a thing.

SECOND BODY FOUND - MURDER TWOAt 5:45 AM, Oct 1888: John Davis of 29 Hanbury Street wakes and gets ready for work. Davis goes to the back door, opens it, and finds a grisly sight. Annie Chapman, known as "Dark Annie," is lying in the backyard, face up. Her gown is pulled above her waist, and her legs are drawn up. Her throat has been cut, and her abdomen ripped open. Parts of her intestines, still attached, have been thrown over her right shoulder; her womb and parts of other organs are missing. Seventeen people live at 29 Hanbury, and no one heard a thing..

and 3 other more victims who were apparently lured to the murderer by grapes and wine(portryed in the movie)....

Inspector Frederick George Abberline (acted by Johnny Depp), who could foresee the victims was put in charged of this series murder cases named: Jack the Ripper. His investigations led him to unveil the secrets of the royal family scandal... But before that, a sadistic killer is still out there...

oh my, this show is absolutely disturbing and gruesome. it totally scares you to your wits. It is entirely different from those silly jap or korean movies where they utilise ghosts and ghouls to scare us. From hell uses a much highly intellectual way of scaring us. (i only watch intellectual shows :P)

The show evokes our thinking abt the cruelty, brutiality and reality of the society. ( i think)
it's definitely a great show to watch!!

also the show mentioned abt the freemason. In dan brown's da vinci code, the movements of the freemanson were also mentioned. Whatever the case is, i think the association of the freemason are just formed by a group of highly powerful yet eccentric people. oh eh their motto is "making the world a better place" (ya right)...
