sea, sky, and serenity

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

nice photo? taken by me--the to-be-famous photographer..hehe
i like how the sea and the sky are almost 'joined' together as one. it reminds me of how everything is actually interconnected to one another. just like i'm connected to you through the internet. no man is an island alone.
the calming and soothing sound of the wave can drive away all your troubles
so serene...

status: currently unemployed

darn... it's been a month already and i am still unemployed. i mean i got a part-time job that pays peanuts but i want a full time work= more money... haha

if anyone happens to have any good deals must msg me okie.

found it off people's website, try it if you think you are mature enough to handle it. :P

end of school term

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

School term has finally ended
it's too early to ask if i missed JC life
Nevertheless,
i think i'll miss the morning rush to school,
singing the national anthem with the entire school,
rushing down to the canteen during breaks,
watching movies in the library,
gossiping with my classmates
and
wearing mud brown uniforms

as they say, one door closes for another to open
while this chapter of my life is closed,
i pray for yet another wonderful and exciting new beginning...

Condemn terrorist acts

It's deepavali today.
Indians in Singapore are busy with their preparation for the festive season in the morning.
Moods are high and joyous.

Not so in India.
Last minute shoppers shopping for deepavli.
Terrorist act in the crowded market place.
Many were killed by innocent looking pressure cookers, bags admist the crowd...
Blood flowed on streets like overturned bucket of red paint,
Some heads detached.

Cry no more, we shall soldier on against these atrocious acts.
Lad Chad and many other heroes have been sacrificed.
We shall honour them with our determination and vilgilance to eradicate terrorist.

Knosh says: : "Heinous, dastardly acts. Those terrorists have no shame. why kill innocent defenseless victims?"

One day, they will reap what they sow.

stoopid New Jersey!!

As requested from agnes, i'm here to update
And because of agnes, i'm feeling all upset and lonely now :(
In the midst of preparation for 'A' levels, agnes broke this horrible news which totally spoilt my night (well, cos she just told me)
.....
when she told me about it, i was like:
"What!!"

"GasP!!"

"GoSh!!"

"YOU WHAT?!!" (exaggerating)

SHE'S LEAVING FOR NEW JERSEY FOR GOOD!!!

my gosh,
i mean like where in America is New Jersey?
going to good, new world for good?
where bush the looney is governing (i know peaz disagrees here)
it is like 16 hours or more to reach there from Singapore
You are gonna be 1 day later then us...
gasp!!
you gonna be 1 day younger than me!!

Of course, this is not the point
but i will gonna miss agnes terribly
she's always there when i have the urge to irritate people
she's always there to play along all silly things that i do or say
she's always there for me to laugh at her for putting on her multi-coloured gloves
she's always there for me to mimic her Cantonese when she's speaking to her mom
she's always there to teach me my homework
she's always there to encourage me when i'm down
she was always there....

it doesn't matter now, agnes is leaving for america; a place she herself is not even familiar with?!

okie so u ask, where is New Jersey?

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
well, New Jersey is below New York and beside Pennsylvania and the Altanic Ocean.
I noted that it is very far from New Orleans, a very important fact.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
New Jersey is the 4th smallest state with a population of 8.6 million. Of which, 5.7% are asians. It's violent crimes rate is ranked 23rd out of 50 states. NJ produced Meryl Streep, Jack Nicholson and Jon Bon Jovi, Kevin Spacey and more.

FACTS:
-North Jersey has the most shopping malls in one area in the world, with seven major shopping malls in
a 25 square mile radius.
- New Jersey is home to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.
-The game Monopoly, played all over the world, named the streets on their playing board after the actual streets in Atlantic City.
- "White Castle" is the name of BOTH a fast food chain AND a fast food sandwich.

well. will do more research after the A's.

ANYWAY, Happy Childrens' Day!!

Dumb Thieves

Just last friday, i stopped a group of thieves.
I must say, they were a group of dumb thieves. Very dumb indeed.

Well, we had a birthday celebration for all those August babies. Somehow we decided to place the cake on a picnic bench away from the fans in the canteen. We took off the picnic umbrella and placed it on the floor.
After the song singing, i spotted a bunch of suspicious J1s scooping around the umbrella.

I thought to myself, "What nice people. Fancy helping us to fold the umbrella."

Soon after that, they held the umbrella under their arms and walked away!!

???!!!**??!! "WHAT THE HECK R U ALL DOING??!!"

I quickly told my classmates abt it and decided to confront those thieves.

"Hey do u know that this is the school's property? it belongs there!" (dun really remember what i said)

They gave me a sheepish smile.

Darn, what silly thieves.
My reasons: Firstly, it's quite a heavy umbrella. it need 2 people to handle. Secondly, it's big. people are sure to notice if u took it away from the canteen u dumb-ass. Thirdly, are u sure u wanna thug it around school looking like a big idiotic fool. It's white with red stripes. Fourthly, our school attendants, especially the aunties who are not very kind with words, they are bound to scold you for being such a inconsiderate ass. Lastly, you're J1s, seventeenth year old, mature teens. gosh act ur age.

haha... basically life is the same. Struggling to deal with school and academic progression. Some embarassing incidents along the way. But hey i've survived this long. Nothing is gonna bring me down. Looking forward to the NDP with beiying. it's at padang. so cool. My third NDP. thanks partner for inviting me.
Cya all soon!!

class outing

yippee...i'm at home now while most of you should be in school. hhahaha...cos i dun have any paper today.

went out with my classmates for steamboat yesterday. haha... quite a disaster. errm.. in the course of acting vunerable, i had 3 'personal chefs' to cook for me.. great right. So my job was mainly to serve the soup and peel the prawns. :) nevertheless, it was still a messy affair. the melted butter kept spattering out, the fumes from the cooking were suffocating, heaps of prawns shells that were on the table, were spilling onto my plate and the meat was oily. Very oily. :P

And YEsh
I have a new addiction!!

It's not POoL

It's NOT DaYtoNa- which i sux at

It's Not BowLinG

It's not Kite-flyinG

It's....

.... the drumset in the arcade!!
Image hosted by Photobucket.com
it's really fun to try to keep up with the rhythm and beat. Best of all, you look cool holding 2 drumsticks and beating along with the yummilious and catchy Jap Pop.

Charlie and the chocolate factory is coming to our theatres soon. Yeah!! i think it will be in Aug. I can't wait!! Click here to see the trailers. Albeit Johnny Depp looked kinda weird in the movie.

Update

decided to write another post to make up for my lack of post during the exam period.

on friday:
yesh last day of paper. physics. went with my classmates to cineleisure to show War of the Worlds. i was anticipating to see tom cruise. the man of my dreams since childhood. he is so gorgous, so handsome and his oh-mega-watt smile despite the fact that he is short. However, his acting in the movie wasn't totally convincing. He doesn't look like a father figure even though he have 2 adopted kids. i felt that his acting was abita lousy. he doesn't fit the role. The ending was quite abrupt too. maybe i wasn't paying attention. was it that the aliens were killed by the bacteria and germs on earth? nevertheless, tom cruise still looked quite attractive at the end.

on sat:
went out with my parents on a nature trail. saw many monkeys.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
(baby monkey attached to mommy-motherly love)

on sun:
the day i fell sick. i was attending my grandfather's birthday when i felt abita sick. thus, i didn't have the appetite to finish my mini-jump-over-the-buddha soup, the steamed crayfish, the scallop and abalone which were all kindly eaten up by my very eager sister.

today:
i was very urgent to go to the toilet. hence, by mistake, i went to the-----male toilet.
fortunately the toilet concept was like a maze. so i didn't get to see what was happening inside before my mum stopped me. (haha...as if it is very happening inside). And there was this very amused uncle laughing at me. *blushing*

okie. i think it's enough update for today. must quickly recover in time for the steamboat gathering with my classmates tmr.

no manners moth

didn't ya mamma taught you manners.

didn't ya mamma taught you that you needed to be invited to someone's house.

didn't ya mamma said that you needed to knock before entering.

did you behave as told by mamma?

NOPE!!

you naughty black son of a.....

(the pics are abita blur cos i had to zoom out to the max)

(compare the size of the large painting with the moth- huge moth)

that stoopid moth was let into the house by my sister. so i had a shock when i came back to see a big black unidentified object fluttering around the house. haha... i had to resort using a broom to chase the moth out of my house. (wonder if my neighbour saw this insane person vigorously waving a broom in the air.)

EXAM BLUES:

Anyway... What's up with blogger? why is it instructed in chinese? Moreover it's fan di zi, commonly used in Taiwan. bleah... i dun understand the words. luckily i am familiar with the blogger layout already :P

from hell

date: sunday
mission to conquer: stay home sunday night movie
title: from hell

Set in the Victorian era London, a Prince posing as a mysterious painter fell in love with an unfortunate pretty lady from the streets- a prostitute to be exact. He spent endless time painting nude portraits of these beautiful unfortunate ladies of the streets of London.

Then they were wedded in a beautiful Chatholic Cathedral. Later, they had a child named Alice.

The Royal family ordered these women who witnessed the secret wedding ceremony to be silenced so as to cover up the Royal family scandal.

One fateful night, a group of man break into their cosy home and separated them. It was then when all the troubles started.

BODY DISCOVERED - MURDER ONE 3:40 AM, Sept 1888: Two workmen discover the body of Polly Nichols. One thinks she is dead, the other assumes she is drunk. They pull her skirt down. Only later, at the morgue, is it discovered that her abdomen has been "ripped" open, from breastbone to pelvis, exposing her intestines. A preliminary canvas of the neighborhood uncovers no witnesses; no one heard a thing.

SECOND BODY FOUND - MURDER TWOAt 5:45 AM, Oct 1888: John Davis of 29 Hanbury Street wakes and gets ready for work. Davis goes to the back door, opens it, and finds a grisly sight. Annie Chapman, known as "Dark Annie," is lying in the backyard, face up. Her gown is pulled above her waist, and her legs are drawn up. Her throat has been cut, and her abdomen ripped open. Parts of her intestines, still attached, have been thrown over her right shoulder; her womb and parts of other organs are missing. Seventeen people live at 29 Hanbury, and no one heard a thing..

and 3 other more victims who were apparently lured to the murderer by grapes and wine(portryed in the movie)....

Inspector Frederick George Abberline (acted by Johnny Depp), who could foresee the victims was put in charged of this series murder cases named: Jack the Ripper. His investigations led him to unveil the secrets of the royal family scandal... But before that, a sadistic killer is still out there...

Image hosted by Photobucket.com trailers of the show(honestly i feel that the trailers do not do justice to the movie)

oh my, this show is absolutely disturbing and gruesome. it totally scares you to your wits. It is entirely different from those silly jap or korean movies where they utilise ghosts and ghouls to scare us. From hell uses a much highly intellectual way of scaring us. (i only watch intellectual shows :P)

more abt jack the ripper:
-history of jack the ripper

The show evokes our thinking abt the cruelty, brutiality and reality of the society. ( i think)
it's definitely a great show to watch!!

also the show mentioned abt the freemason. In dan brown's da vinci code, the movements of the freemanson were also mentioned. Whatever the case is, i think the association of the freemason are just formed by a group of highly powerful yet eccentric people. oh eh their motto is "making the world a better place" (ya right)...

i recently went down town shopping for the GSS with my mom and sis. it was den i realised. i haven't been to Orchard Road for eons of years. there were quite alot of changes in orchard and i was quite lost in Wisma Atria. Bleah, to think that Orchard road was once my territory which i roamed at least once every fornightly. haha, the worst was that i didn't have the usual stamina to endure the entire shopping trip. I was frantically looking for a rest corner while my sis and my mom shop.
i looked like this:

wedding bells are ringing!!

Today has been an exceptionally beautiful day.
Nope, i am not talking about the weather. (it's been raining in the morning and now at night, though the weather was fine in the afternoon)
My dad's cousin( technically my aunty) got married!! She looked extremely gorgeous and stunning in her white, satin, back baring wedding gown. It's a pity that i didn't take any photos of the gorgeous couple.
Well, i am really happy for my aunt vivienne. She has been through alot of difficulties and now she is able to embrace her happiness.
Today, she is able to put away all her bad memories and look towards her future with little jonah.
Today, she will cherish his memory.
Today she is married to a very caring, (highly)intelligent and wonderful gentleman who is to be her husband in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health. He will love her and honour her all the days of his life.
i am so glad for aunt vivienne.

something i just found out about my new uncle. well, apparently he seems to be quite an influential person in the law arena. opps... i digressed :)

yupe, the wedding ceremony was simple yet magical. relatives and friends all gathered together to witness the special ritual for them to proclaim their love for each other and their becoming as ONE. Accompanied by prayers to the Lord and melodious hymns. The most exuberating part: exchanging of vows followed by the.....kissing :)

lunch buffet was prepared by purple sage-creative catering. the food was definitely different from any i have eaten. one word for it: interesting. Aunty vivienne thought of this ingenious take home souvenir. it is so kawaii :)

Dear Lord, please bless my aunty and family with eternal joy and happiness. Now and forever, Amen.

i don't want to be

I DON"T WANT TO BE - gavin degraw
I don't need to be anything other
Than a prison guard's son
I don't need to be anything other
Than a specialist's son
I don't have to be anything other
Than the birth of two souls in one
Part of where I'm going, is knowing where I'm coming from
I don't want to be
Anything other than what I've been trying to be lately
All I have to do
Is think of me and I have peace of mind
I'm tired of looking 'round rooms
Wondering what I've got to do
Or who I'm supposed to be
I don't want to be anything other than me
I'm surrounded by liars everywhere I turn
I'm surrounded by imposters everywhere I turn
I'm surrounded by identity crisis everywhere I turn
Am I the only one who noticed?
I can't be the only one who's learned
I don't want to be
Anything other than what I've been trying to be lately
All I have to doIs think of me and I have peace of mind
I'm tired of looking 'round rooms
Wondering what I've got to do
Or who I'm supposed to be
I don't want to be anything other than me
Can I have everyone's attention please?
If you're not like this and that, you're gonna have to leave
I came from the mountain
The crust of creation
My whole situtaion-made from clay to stone
And now I'm telling everybodyI don't want to be
Anything other that what I've been trying to be lately
All I have to do
Is think of me and I have peace of mind
I'm tired of looking 'round rooms
Wondering what I've got to do
Or who I'm supposed to be
I don't want to be anything other than me

royston tan

well, this post is almost 2 weeks overdued. haha... i was too lazy to blog.
2 weeks ago, i accompanied my friends to watch the Royston Tan film screening. 0104, a showcase of his short films. well the films were quite interesting and controversial. it's not what you would really expect to understand. in fact, out of the 12 films, i only understood 5 of them... haha how pathetic me.
anyway, it was quite an eyeopener to me cos i've never really been to such art activities before. i got a glimpse of a tiny part of singapore arts scene....felt so cultured, like so arty farty...haha(crappy)

crisis in sudan

i was flipping through the newpapers when i noticed an article on War in Sudan. So, i went to do a little research. To my dismay, the crisis in Sudan was about genocide(the deliberate and systematic destruction of a racial, political, or cultural group)!!

i mean we are living in this 21st century where the talk is mostly abt globalisation and advance technology. The worst news i've heard (since i become intellectual) was the Iraq War, 911 and the tsunami disaster. Yet, there's a genocide going on in Sudan? sounds quite absurd to me. The last i heard was the Third Reich headed by Adolf Hilter.

More than 30,000 people were killed in this civil war over more than a decade(i think). What's even more shocking was that the President of Sudan backed those massacre. Thousands of innocent victims were killed on this stupid enthic cleansing issue. It's like totally shit. What give those murders the right to take away those people's life? Do they think that they are playing god? I really don't understand their motive of this genocide. What can they gain from this? Infamous, notorious or snick remarks abt the damn government, a backward and improvished country or to be under-developed and be always behind the rest of the progressing world? Is this what they are really fighting for? If so, i have nothing to say.

i feel so ignorant abt the happenings of the world. there's so much war and crisis happening like almost every single day and sometimes (or like always) i'll be like moaning and groaning abt how bored i am with life. i'm always procrastinating and complaining abt how stressful i am. HOW SELFISH!!

okie i'm not trying to be scholastic or anything (cos u know i'm not). but i'm really astonished abt all these crisis. Gives me alot to reflect on rather than thinking abt just me.

fun at Ikea

woman: "oh darling, i been waiting so long for this day. Take me, take me, take me (sounds more like moaning) ... take me to the Ikea sale."

haha... wat a silly yet catchy advertisement for the Ikea sale... anyway, that ad proved it's effectiveness. it made me took a trip all the way from Bishan down to Queensway to take a look at the sale. ya.. take me there.
maybe because it's a weekday afternoon, there weren't much people at the sale. I had fun opening all the drawers to look out for cool gadgets and testing all the chairs that were in my view. Peaz had have playing with her silly red moose and ended up with furs all over her.
there's a wall at the children section that wrote "to the most important people on earth"... how true :)
i enjoy walking in Ikea. i'm just contented looking at those furnishings. how cool would it be if my room look like this...Image hosted by Photobucket.com....hhaah fantastic

hurray. i finally ended my block test after 1 week of gruelling studying. i made quite alot of mistakes but nevertheless, i hope i can pass out of my papers. I mean... this is like the only test which i really studied. I hope my hardwork won't be in vain.

looking forward to the weekends to watch Simpsons on 5.

Traffic blues - army stories

i extracted this blog entry from http://singaporearmystories.blogspot.com/ ... haha totally hilarious... it's really funny :p

Traffic blues
by zeenie

Part of our major excercise consisted of splitting us up into groups of 3 to run traffic control points, in which we were supposed to operate a check point with the main guy stopping vehicles (pointsman), another covering him (security) and the third providing support in terms of communicating with the control centre and other checkpoints (radioman). Other hilarious stories to do with this excercise include one where the trainee stopped a non-excercise vehicle that belonged to another unit and made the driver get out and give the password (which of course the poor chap didn't have a clue); and another one where one blur radioman called in to verify a password with the control centre and the conversation went along the lines of

Radioman: "Hullo Control, the password they give is WRONG TONGUE while the correct one is LONG TONGUE, they insist that they are correct, can we let them through?"
Control: "Hullo Radioman, thank you for announcing our password to the world, see me after the excercise"

But i digress from the particular incident i had in mind which would have made for a great slapstick skit (and i'm not making any of this up!).

It was a hot day and i was tasked to the radioman with my buddy as point and the third guy was made security because that was the easiest job (and he was the blurrest bugger i've ever met (save for that one clown in BMT who wore a No 4 top with shorts in a hurry)). Then a call comes in to stop a particular vehicle for checking (licence plate number XXXXX), as it was suspected that they were smuggling guns. Lo and behold, the vehicle in question comes along the road and my buddy the pointsman stopped and challenged them. Since we had to search the vehicle, he directed it into a sideroad just around the corner and followed them on foot. As i had to man the radio, i couldn't help him, but security could.
Unfortunately, the blurfuck was still in dreamland and only awoke when i threw a stone at him (couldn't yell at him like i wanted to since that would have given away our position) and he got up to give cover to the pointsman.
Meanwhile, the two occupants of the vehicle (actually instructors) decided to test the reaction of the pointsman by getting out of the vehicle unbidden. My buddy promptly freaked out abit because there were two of them while he was still alone (yelling from time to time for security to cover him) and they were advancing upon him. He took decisive action in commanding the two suspects to lie down on the floor, when security decides to show up and is faced with a barrage of "Lie down!! Lie down!! Get down on the floor! NOW!!" from the pointsman (by now) yelling at the suspects. So security lies down on the floor in the middle of the side road to 'give cover' to the pointsman. This was met with "Not you lah you idiot!!" from the pointsman and the scenario was ended by the instructors because they couldn't stop laughing.

I'm not a perfect person

i'm not a perfect person.
there are many things i wish i didnt do
but i continue learning.
i never meant to do those things to you.
and so i have to say before i go,
that i just want you to know

i've found a reason for me,
to change who i used to be
a reason to start over new,
and the reason is you

i'm sorry that i hurt you,
its something i must live with everyday
and all the pain i put you through,
i wish that i could take it all away
and be the one who catches all your tears,
thats why i need you to hear

i'm not a perfect person,
i never meant to do those things to you
and so i have to say before i go
that i just want you to know
i've found a reason for me,
to change who i used to be
a reason to start over new,
and the reason is you

i've found a reason to show a side of me you didnt know
a reason for all that i do,
and the reason is you

Mosquitoes crisis!!

HELP.... SAVE ME!!

i think my house is like being infested by mosquitoes??? worst of all, i think they have mutated into very mean creatures.
firstly, they disturb me from my beauty sleep. can u imagine wat is it like to sleep from 1am to 6am and yet have to get up almost everyday at 2.30am to kill those irritating, sucker mosquitoes??? darn those creature... fancy depriving me of my beauty sleep. my revenge? to kill every single one of them. called the NEA... hurray!! they said they destroyed one of their breeding grounds... losers (capital L on my forehead)..haha
secondly, the mosquitoes attack us... i repeat they ATTACK US. nonONO, those creatures no longer lurk in one dark corner and bite us unnoticed anymore.... they simply fly right up to u and attack u... foul for offesive man :(
thirdly, those creatures look weird. usually they are black and small sized.....but mutation choose to occur...... now they look like small spidery insects with long, brownish body and with biGGer wings... it's no wonder they are becoming more and more noisier at night.....
forthly, everytime when i painstaking killed one mosquito (with plentiful of fresh blood included).. they will be like 3 more mosquitoes popping out from no where.... talk about idiots... totally

phew... typed quite alot... considering the fact that i so tired now. the cross country in mac ritchie was terrible. pple were like strolling in the middle of the path at the front of the run... like heLLo...u want people to trample over u izzit... u think ya grandpa bought that narrow, muddy path which can only accomodate 3 pple at one time and 2 silly idiot will be like walking???!!!
so wat did yihuey did?? she shouted to those ignorant creatures: "EXCUSE ME... DON'T WALK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD CAN?????!!!!"
ignorant people.... want to trip me izzit... yupe and yantong fell down... take care ya

wow... my sch is quite poor... 1 milo truck to provide for the whole school population of 16oo?? no mineral water given out too... poor sch .... never mind there's a newspaper collection on sat to help raise sch funds... help my poor sch raise more funds.. see i so nice....

hhhee.. saw janice today... she's so cool and cute... cjc and crescent's track and field have the same coach... poor thing... i'm so jealous... cjc's pe shirt is so darn nice.. made of nice dry-tech material.. look so professional.. like some real sports pple '_' ... it's nice seeing old friends and doing some catching up :)

The Raven

part of the poem: the raven

And the raven, never flitting, still is sitting, still is sitting
On the pallid bust of Pallas just above my chamber door;
And his eyes have all the seeming of a demon's that is dreaming,
And the lamp-light o'er him streaming throws his shadow on the floor;
And my soul from out that shadow that lies floating on the floor
Shall be lifted - nevermore!

Edgar Allan Poe
