Update #2 on Caleb's Arm
Caleb will get his cast off on August 6th (the same day that our baby is due)! From his MRI they found that the fracture does cross the growth plate, but that it is nearly aligned. It is less than 1 millimeter off, so that is good enough to leave the cast on and not take any other measures to help it heal. I am so relieved and feel like now I can have this baby and not worry about Caleb. They will follow him for a year to be sure that his growth is not affected.

Caleb's Broken Arm Update
Today Caleb had an MRI on his broken arm. We went to Primary Children's Hospital Imaging Department. They gave him Nembutal IV to put him to sleep. The MRI took about 40 minutes. The nurses said an MRI of the brain only takes 20 to 30 minutes. It seems strange that an elbow takes longer than a brain. They let him sleep for 2 hours after they gave him the Nembutal. When he woke up he ate a Popsicle and drank a little bit of Gatorade. He was okay until the nurse put him in the car, and then he threw up. We made it to Chandra's house (thanks to her for watching Parker while Caleb and I were gone) and Caleb got sick again. He got sick one more time after we got home, but has been fine since about 6 pm. Chandra had invited us over for dinner and FHE. I told her that we weren't going to come over tonight since Caleb was not feeling well. He was very sad that we didn't get to have dinner with them, and started crying that he was feeling better. He is still very unsteady on his feet so Keith has been carrying him around the house. Tomorrow we will talk to the orthopedic specialist to see what they found on the MRI.

Caleb's Broken Arm
Sunday night Caleb was all ready for bed, but then he decided he needed a drink. He ran off his bed and fell and broke his elbow. It is the top of the humerus that broke. I took him to the Instacare and they put on a splint.
Today we took him to an orthopedic specialist who put on a cast. He chose a glow in the dark cast. The doctor is not totally sure how far the fracture extends, so Caleb gets to have an MRI on Monday at Primary Children's Hospital.
I'm grateful this is happening now, and not in a few weeks when we have a brand new baby.

Why I love The UPS Store
My favorite place to go to mail anything is the UPS Store. The UPS store near my home has a small crate of toys that my kids love to play with, I rarely have to wait, and it is just so convenient. Last Saturday I tried going to the UPS store, but it was closed for the 4th of July weekend. So I went to the Post Office. I was shipping a computer. To get it in the post office I had to put it into the stroller and have Caleb and Parker walk. They were running laps around the post office while we waited. Then it was finally my turn, and once I got the computer out of the stroller I put Parker into the stroller to stop his running. He was screaming because he didn't want to be restrained. I took Parker out while the postal worker was trying to talk to me about how to ship it. Then Caleb was pushing the stroller all around the post office and not listening to my pleadings for him to stop. I started crying because I felt so out of control and embarrassed. I was in tears as we left the post office. I am sure it was cheaper to ship it at the post office, but sometimes it is worth it to pay a little bit more at the UPS Store.
