The Card Concept 103

Hey Friends! The Card Concept has a great photo inspiration for you! You can use it anyway you'd like. How about a December birthday?

I chose to use my Avery Elle cupcake stamp set for this clean and layered card. I stamped the 2 piece cupcake. The top and the bottom are separate, some on white card stock and some on patterned paper with ink colors to match the inspiration.

I pulled out a MS holly punch and some puffy stickers from my stash to decorate said cupcakes. As I write this, darned if I know which set the sentiment comes from. Sorry!
A little patterned paper for the background and some rounded corners to complete.

I hope you'll come join us and also take a look at the design team's cards.
See you soon!

The Card Concept 102

Hey Friends, Time sure is flying by! Time to make Christmas cards if you haven't started already! LOL. I'm way behind but will add to handmade cards with pre-made.
The Card Concept Challenge 102 is a pretty one and can be interpreted any way you'd like. I focused on the gingham pillow and tree for my clean and layered card.
I love this Hero Arts set and was happy to use it. It's a color layering stamp so the trees are stamped with 2 colors of ink and another layer was heat embossed in white. I also embossed the deer, star and greeting.
I hope you join us this week.Check out the design team's card too, they are gorgeous!
Hugs, Kim

Inspired by all the little Things 75

Hey Friends, Welcome to Inspired by all the little things #75. I love this pretty image and I love to ice skate, although I haven't done it lately. I had a retired stamp that would have been perfect for this challenge but decided to take this stamp set out.

The moose skating is adorable! It's Avery Elle "snow much fun" stamps and dies.

I colored the images with Copics and die cut out. I sponged some distress ink to create a scene and layered everything on, including some pom poms for snowballs. A googly eye adds some fun!

Our guest this week is Bobby Hagen.  Stop on by and join us this week!

Inspired by all the little things 74

Hey Friends, the countdown to the holidays is ON!

This week at Inspired by all the little Things #74 we have a pretty inspiration for you. I choose to add some color this week but kept the star shape and sentiment!

I merely die cut a Spellbinder star die from red card stock and heat embossed the Simon says Stamp "Merry and Bright" with white powder. I punch a small hole and added some Twinery bakers twine. I set the star on some pretty gray bokeh paper which was matted on SSS dark gray CS.

Our guest this week is Maria Fischer. Stop by the blog and see what's cooking. And play along too!

Inspired by all the little things 73

Hi There, what a beautiful inspiration we have for you this week! Inspired by all the little things #73

I started out with a piece of Bristol paper and some sugary Zig markers. I stamped Wplus9 "Holiday Houses" in Versafine Black ink and colored the houses with similar colors to the photo, spreading and diluting the markers with water to get a pastel look. I did the same with the sentiment from the Wplus9 "Be Merry" stamps and dies.

After attaching a nest of gold thread and adhering the background to a card base, I called it done.

Susan Opel is our guest this week, Come join us this week, you can't resist those colors, can you?

Inspired by all the little things #72

Hi-di Ho, Friends. It's time for Inspired by all the little Things #72. I chose to make a mostly white card with some sliver accents.

I used Hero Arts Color Layering Snowy Tree stamp set and dies for this card. I silver embossed the trees, die cut them and layered them in an oval. I also embossed the deer and layered him over a Lawn Fawn Stitched hillside snow bank. The background is a Cuttlebug snowflake dry embossed panel. Finally I wrapped some silver cord and a jingle bell around it and it was done!
Anne Marie Hile is our quest this week. Come by and visit and play along too!

Inspired by all the little Things #35

Hey Friends, It's holiday time, can you believe it? I can't! I have a clean and layered card for you today using the fabulous inspiration from Inspired by all the little Things #35

I love snowmen and I was a little tired of my collection so I bought a digital stamp from "From the Heart Stamps" called Snowman and Holly Chicks.I colored him with Copics and added white gel pen polka dots to his hat just like the photo.

The rest of the card is simply some Echo Park paper layered up with the colored image. I added some MFT die cut snowflakes and some ribbon. My grandson was visiting when I was finishing this and I got distracted and forgot a sentiment! Maybe I can add it later. :)

I hope you are inspired by the photo and come join us this week.
Silke Ledlow is our guest this week. The design team has some great inspiration for you too!

Inspired by all the little Things 33

Hello, Hello! How are you this week? You need to come join us for Inspired by all the little Things #33. We've got fun trees for you to interpret any way you wish!
I tried a few things with this Hero Arts stamp set that didn't work out. I stamped the trees in the greens and pinks like the inspiration photo but wasn't feeling it so I heat embossed a single tree is white powder and decorated it with pearls and gems.

I die cut it with SB Classic ovals and scalloped ovals and set it on my prepared card base. The little tag is from Avery Elle here. I was going to go with softer pinks and greens for the patterned paper but this paper just popped. I'll have to add the name of it later, my mind is blank! Hahaha.

Check out our guest Myra Webb and the other design team members' cards at the link above!

Thanks.

Merry Monday 196, Guest Designing

Hi Friends, Today I'm guesting for Merry Monday Christmas Card Challenge! Yippee!! One of my favorite challenges to play in. I won with my Tropical Card Here.

Today theme is Sue's Challenge. Make a Christmas Card with Black,White and Grey/Silver! Quite a challenge for me UNTIL I found this fabulous Bo Bunny grey Bokeh patterned paper in my stash! AND this sketch from "The Challenge 63".

The card is very straightforward. I stuck very close to the sketch. The DCWV 6x6 silver foil paper lent some pizzazz to this color scheme as well as some silver cording.
Thanks for visiting, Kim

Merry Monday 194, Tropical Christmas

Hi there! I've got a Tropical Christmas Card to show you today. It's the latest Merry Monday Challenge, #194.
I pulled out my Newton's Nook Sea-sons Greetings stamp set. I hadn't used the boat image yet so this qualifies for NBUS #6 Challenge.

The palm tree is from MFT. I used Mojo Monday Sketch 437 loosely, replacing the horizontal mat with a ribbon and a rectangle instead of a square. Basic Grey's Juniper Berry paper was used also and ribbon from Verve. Wink of stella was liberally added to everything!

This card was so fun to put together. If it weren't for the ridiculously tiny fussy cutting I would make a whole bunch!

Thanks for visitng!

MM190

Hi Friends, I'm here with my Santa card for Merry Monday Challenge 190! I used my cute Santa from SSS/Clearly Besotted Winter Friends.

I also used a SSS Peace Love and Joy set for the sentiment. Other items used are BG Jovial paper, holly punch, LF stitched square dies, LID rectangle die, Doodlebug sequins, Copic markers and recollections gems.

So I'm working on this year's Christmas card stash. It was great to have so many cards to mail last December.

Guesting at "The Challenge"

Hi Friends! I'm thrilled to be joining the gals at "The Challenge" #52 this week. Thanks for inviting me. Take a look at the fabulous inspiration photo below and play along with us.

For my card I found inspiration from the Poinsettias and greenery to make a traditional rustic style .  Doesn't that Prima red poinsettia just pop against all those neutrals? I used some Bo Bunny paper, a Cherry Lynn doily die, a Penny Black sentiment heat embossed in gold and some trim and twine in a neutral color.

The most fun part of making this was heat embossing an older metal brad with gold embossing powder! It was fun to watch it melt on the metal.

I hope you enjoyed visiting today. Please check out The Challenge!

Some other challenges I'm submitting to are:

CPS-Circle Card Challenge.

I made this for CPS147, Circle card challenge. I cut the circle card from Cricut Wild Card Cart at 5.5" on blackout. Used George cart. for all the circle cuts. Image is from Sweet and Sassy Digital stamp website. Sign says "noses for sale 5 cents". Again, I colored it with prisma pencils, ran through cuttlebug to emboss with swiss dot folder. Used a rinestone florish that is not showing it's bright bling quality because of the way I photgraphed it. Added sheer ribbon and tied on a jingle bell, added gems around the outside. Paper with snowflakes on it is flocked, DCWV. Has stickles too.
Seasons Greetings to one and all! Kim

Cara-Santa Baby Card.

Hi all, I made this card for my daughter Cara. This sweet beautiful girl reminds me of her so I colored her with prisma pencils and odorless mineral spirits. I tried to color her hair to match Cara's (a beautiful auburn reddish brown color) and added tiny freckles to her nose and cheeks. I got this digital stamp from sassy studio design website. Such cute images they have!
I used the yummy K&Co. paper, bazzill cardstock, white dot ribbon. basic grey button, red metallic twine, MS punch and stickles on the hat (you can't see from picture). Can't wait to give it to her. oxoxoKim

BBTB Branch Challenge.

Hi Friends, I don't have WW, wish I did!, so I used a branch from Home Decor cartridge. I struggled with the layout and choosing paper but I'm happy with it now.

I used Bazzill turquoise CS, Basic Grey Paper, the burgandy is from wassail collection and the green is from this years collection, can't remember the name. The scalloped circle is a punch, the bird and branch from Home Decor. Basic Grey button, pink velvet ribbon is making memories, tiny pink ribbon threaded in the button, stamped sentiment, gems, pearls and stickles. The card is 5"x5". I'll have to make an envelope to fit. Merry Christmas, everyone! :) Kim

Homespun Christmas

Hi friends, I made this card for the Bitten By the Bug challenge-Ribbon Frame-from JOTS cartridge. Not only do I have to learn to make great cards, I have to learn photography!!!
These pictures do not capture the homespun feel I created but I had fun making this.
For the berries, I made french knots with floss. I zigzag stitched around the outside in ivory thread and used ivory lace trim. The buttons are basic grey and attached with CTMH hemp in natural. The pp is K&Co. and DCWV and bazzill CS. The image is a re-purposed xmas card from last year from American Greeting that I received and saved. It really pretty IRL. It has glittery snow. Oh, and I inked the edges with Tim Holtz distress ink in Antique Linen. Thanks for looking! xoxo Kim
