Kaisercraft True Romance Collection Card

Hi,  I hope you like my simple but I feel elegant Kaisercraft True Romance Card.  I started off with Kaisercraft card stock, I used the Kaisercraft Doily Stencil which I placed on the cardstock. I then used Tim Holtz Distress Ink pad and blending tool, in a swirling motion all over the Kaisercraft Doily template. I was very happy with the result!

I then teamed it with the die cuts from the Kaisercraft true romance collection ie the butterflies, and the Love title.  The flower border on the side of the card is from the 6 x 6 Kaisercraft paper stack.
I feel the whole Kaisercraft True Romance Collection is so versatile for any projects you have in mind. The flowers are also Kaisercraft.
The lace I used on the card is a bo bunny lace.  All these supplies can be purchased on Kerry's Crafty Cards and Cuts.  Thank you Paula

Kaisercraft Enchanted Garden Birthday Card

I am in love with this card!!! I spent half the night awake designing it. As it turns out I didn't have the pink Kaisercraft flowers I thought I had but the purple ones work just as well.

I have a 12x12 page planned using these beautiful Kaisercraft Enchanted Gardens papers also and can't wait to get started on it to show you all.

Materials used for this card:

Kaisercraft Enchanted Garden paper collection

Kaisercraft card stock in Ballet

Kaisercraft paper flowers in assorted colours

Kaisercraft Pearls

Metal Tag I found at my local post office.

Hope you all enjoy as much as I do :)

Sweet Pea Card Tutorial

Hi everyone, it's Alanna here today to share with you a card I made with the new Sweet Pea collection from Kaisercraft (available here in Kerry's store). I've put together a little tutorial as well for you.

First of all... the card we will be making:

Please note, the finished card is 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" in size.

And now for the tutorial:

Supplies
  • 2 pieces of cardstock - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2"
  • Papers of your choice (I've used the Sweet Pea paper pad)
  • Paper cutter and scoring tool (I've used the score blade that came with my trimmer)
  • Adhesive
  • Coordinating embellishments/stamps/etc to decorate your card
Optional
  • Bone folder
  • Craft knife and ruler
  • Ink for edges

Step One - Making the Card Base

Score the first piece of cardstock at 4 1/4" and fold in half. On the side that is the front, cut a window, 1” from all 4 sides.

Step Two - Making the Lever Insert

Score the second piece of cardstock at 4 1/4" and 6 3/8”. Go in 2 1/8” from the left edge and score down to 1” from the top and up to 1” from the bottom.

To cut the “lever” that will fit through the card front “window”, go in 1” from the left edge and cut a slit that starts 1” from the top and goes down to 1” from the bottom.

Cut from the top and bottom ends of that slit over to the 2 1/8” score line. This produces the “lever” that will fit through the front window.

Fold on all score lines. Folds should be valley/mountain/valley folded.

Step Three - Putting them Together

Add adhesive to the “backside” of the left and right panels of the cardstock you just scored and glue it inside the card. The “lever” tucks inside of the front “window”. If this is a tight fit, trim a sliver off the top and bottom of the lever so that it will move freely through the window.

Step Four - Decorating and Embellishing

Front of the card -
Cut a 4” x 5 1/4” piece of patterned paper. Cut in 3/4” from all 4 sides to allow for the window. Ink edges if you wish and adhere to the front of your card.

Inside of the card -
Cut three strips of patterned paper 1 7/8" x 5 1/4".
Cut two small pieces 1 7/8" x 3/4".
Cut one long strip 7/8" x 3 3/8"

Ink and adhere two of the thin strips to the right hand panels on in the inside of the card.

Take the 3rd thin strip, cut in 1” from the right side, 3/4” from the top and 3/4” from the bottom. Cut vertically between those two cuts to make a C shaped piece for the left hand panel of your card. Ink and adhere.

Adhere smaller pieces as shown in picture below to remaining panel.

Front panel -
Cut a rectangle 3 3/8" x 2" to fit on front panel. I used a different paper to what I was using for the fronts and insides of the card.

Decorate remainder of card as desired.

Thanks for stopping by today! I would love to see your creations from this tutorial so please post on the facebook page, or in the comment section of this blog post.

PS. This tutorial was adapted from one on SplitCoastStampers which you can find here, along with a video by Laura Lipe.

A Retreat achieves so much more!

Hi all!

I have just returned from a retreat, run by a fellow SA scrapbooking business Seaside Scrapping on the weekend with Alanna. It was a great weekend and i was amazed at how much i achieved!

The first is the NEW release from kaisercraft Blast off! I love this boys range and it was so much fun to work with, the cute monsters in the collectables made me smile and i cant wait to make more cards from this collection, and i also have a project in mind!

This collection has been very popular and can be found over on my website HERE.

I also decided to give the NEW Kaisercraft True Romance Collection a go! Lots of girly pink in this one!

Lastly, I have been in desperate need of some new baby cards both boy and girl and took along some Echo Park Bundle of Joy Boy supplies! I am totally in love with this collection and could have easily have scrapped some more! I have so far managed to make 11 cards from a paper pad, 12x12 journal cards, and a sticker sheet. There is stil plenty to keep me going! The collection can be found in my store HERE. I still have some 12x12 papers and sticker sheets to add as well!

I also managed to get some gift tags from the Kaisercraft collection summer breeze completed as well! So all up it was a successful weekend and hopefully another one is on its way again soon as it was great to get some more cards to add to my selling stash!

Happy Scrappin'

On this Day Cards

Hi everyone! It's Alanna here today and I've got a couple of cards that I made with the new Kaisercraft collection - On this Day (available HERE in Kerry's store).

First, a thank you card for the lovely midwives I worked with recently while on placement:

And secondly, a wedding card, just for my stash. This collection just screams weddings and engagements!

I used the kaisercraft cardstock in licorice for my matting and a My Creative Time stamp set (many greetings) for the sentiments for both cards - it's my favourite stamp set! From the On this Day collection, I used the paper pad, collectables, and 12" papers.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today!

Porcelain Rose Card

Hi all :)

Here is my first design. It's a card I made for my mum for Mother's Day using the Porcelain Rose collection from Kaisercraft.

I used a circle punch to make the petals and the 'Love' embellishment is one of the collectables from the collection.

I used Kaisercraft card stock in Willow, Denim and Blush and a navy blue ink.

Stay tuned for what BTP project I create with this collection later in the month.

The Porcelein Rose collection can be found HERE and HERE in Kerry's store. The kaisercraft cardstock is HERE.

Ray of Sunshine

Recently, my grandmother had a fall and is in hospital recovering. Mum headed over there yesterday to spend some time with her so I made a quick card to spread some bright sunshine into her room. I used the gorgeous Hello Sunshine collection from Bo Bunny... so bright and colourful, I am really loving making cards with this range. I think I might have to make myself one just to brighten up my room!

Materials Used: KaiserCard (Coffee Bean); Bo Bunny Hello Sunshine collection: paper pad, 12" cut outs; MCT stamp: many greetings; Tim Holtz Distress Ink (black soot); Memento Ink (tuxedo black); twine.

I added a little flower to the inside as well to brighten up the stark white paper. Hope it does the tricken and brighten's up the dull hospital room...

Thanks for stopping my the blog today!

Forget-Me-Not Card

Hi everyone

Today I'm sharing my last project and blog for Kerry's Crafty Cards & Cuts Design Team.  I want to thank Kerry & Alanna for giving me the opportunity to be part of a Design Team and I have thoroughly enjoyed the last 6 months.  I have learnt so many new techniques and have made some lovely friends, and for that I'm very grateful.

So, here it is....I made this card for a lovely friend of mine.  I used Kaisercrafts Forget-Me-Not Paper Collection, along with a plain paper doily that I sprayed with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist (Old Lace) and added some metallic embellishments.

To find all the materials you would need to make this card, please visit www.kerryscraftycardsandcuts.com.au/store/

Again, thanks to the whole Design Team and thanks to all of you for checking out my posts.

Take care and happy crafting

Magnolia Grove Gift Box & Card

Hi, Sandra here!  Just dropping in to say hi and share my project for this week.

This week I got to play with one of my favourite Kaisercraft Collections, Magnolia Grove.  I love the subtle colours and the lovely floral patterns.

I found a cute little box which was just the perfect size for a gift that I got for a friend of mine but it just looked a bit sad and plain....so, of course it got a make over!  I'm really happy with how its turned out.  Its so rewarding to take something really plain and ordinary and then by adding some of the gorgeous papers that are available, you can make something original and unique.

I added one of Kaisercraft's Magical Butterfly Wooden Flourishes to the lid.

With all the little offcuts, some lace and some collectables, I made a little gift card to match.

Magnolia Grove, as well as many other paper collections and goodies are available from www.kerryscraftycardsandcuts.com.au/store/ , make sure you pop by and say hi.

Have a great week!!

I love my Copics!!

Hi everyone,  I'm so excited that my DT project for this week is all about Copics!!  I first bought my copics last year and only had about 10 ciao markers....now my collection has slowly grown to 52.  And I've got a wish list a mile long.

I love the flexibilty you get with using copics...they blend so well and the you can even make up your own colour combinations by blending different colours.

If you are new to Copics, I would suggest going on youtube and checking out the many tutorials etc and then you can get an idea of where to start with choosing your collection.  Just remember when colouring stamps with copics to use X-press blending card and Momento Tuxedo Black Ink.

The stamp I using this week is such a cutie....its 'Back to school Luka' from La La Land Stamps.  I decided to colour him and make a card for my nephew, who is turning 13 this week.

The photos below show the different stages of colouring and the also has which colours I used.

Here he is all finished and cut out, ready for placement on a card!

The orange shimmer card was from my stash but every thing else is available from http://www.kerryscraftycardsandcuts.com.au/store/

Materials used:
Kaisercraft's Sears and Son Collection
Kaisercrafts Mini alpha stickers
La La Land Stamps
Copic Ciao Markers

I also decided to make a little gift card envelope to add to his card.....

I hope he likes it and I hope this inspires you to get out your copics and have a colour!!  I find colouring so therapeutic and relaxing...so go on, have a go!
Thanks
S xx
