Taylored Expressions: Inlaid Die Cutting Technique

This month the Taylored Expressions designers are taking on the Inlaid Die Cutting Technique and it's a super cool way to use die cuts.

I used the Up, Up and Away Cutting Plate and trimmed it with watercolor paper.  I saved all of the cut pieces (the ones you usually throw away) & set them aside.  I colored the balloons and frame with watercolor markers and then attached it to a piece of cardstock and then added the cut pieces to the background.   I used the In & Out Birthday stamp set to add a sentiment. {links below}  I thought watercoloring the image was a fun take on the technique.

Create-A-Card Christmas Display

In honor of a very busy weekend with the Concord Christmas Spectacular, I wanted to share this table top display card that I made.  We may not be able to have the traditional Live Nativity in our program this year, but I know the program will be SPECTACULAR!  The kids and directors have been working so hard & they are all AMAZING!

Taylored Expression December Release: Picture Perfect!

It's release day for the December Taylored Expression Release!  I hope you've enjoyed all the sneak peeks this week because I had a blast making them!  I love Valentine's Day... it's one of my favorite holidays to create projects.  

For my first card today, I am featuring the Picture Perfect - Valentine die set.  These great dies can be used as a photo frame on a card or in scrapbooks or it can highlight stamped or die cut images.  I trimmed out a few Stitched Heart Stacklet dies and then added the arrow from the Follow Your Arrow die set.  The background is the new Swiss Hearts Embossing Folder.

Today I have a "Bonus" card to share using the heart image from the Heart of Hearts stamp & die combo set.

I just love the simplicity of this card and the classic Valentine colors.  The sweet little popped up banner and the sentiment are both part of the Heart of Hearts stamp & die combo set. The large heart die is from the Stitched Stacklet Dies.

Taylored Expressions Sneak Peek Day #3: Quick Critters

Here we are on the final day of the Taylored Expressions Sneak Peeks for the December Release.  Tomorrow is the big release day!

For this sweet little piggy card, I used the previously released Love Make the World Go Round stamp set but used the new coordinating dies to trim the pigs.  I stamped the image on watercolor paper and then colored them with my watercolor pens.  I added the pig image to an embossed background using the new Paisley Embossing Folder and trimmed it out with the Postage Stamp Stacklet.  I also added one of the new Skinny Mini Valentine Borders at the top and grounded the image with some twine at the bottom.  

My second card uses the new Quick Critters stamp and die combo set.   The set comes with several sentiments, four images of faces, and 4 cute little solid critter dies.

I trimmed the critter out in Toffee, patterned paper, and Cherry Pop & stamped the sentiment on Toffee and Cherry Pop and cut out each phrase to position it on the Stitched Heart Stacklet on my card.  For the background I used the paper airplane patterned paper because I thought it went perfectly with the sentiment.
