Just a little get well wish I made for my mother-in-law. She is having knee replacement surgery on Thursday. Tim is off to the airport this morning to fly out to North Dakota to be with his parents for the next few days. 
I've been on a roll this week with lots of new stuff just pouring out of my fingers. I love weeks like that! I finished up this card this morning and then I HIT A WALL! Which means for me, it's time to stop for the day. Otherwise I don't like anything I create & it all ends up in the trash. But I'm happy with this card, so it was a good one to stop with.

My dear friend, Michelle Wooderson, does a great job of whipping up a ton of cards at one time using pattern paper or One Sheet Wonders (homemade pattern paper). Yesterday, I decided that I really needed to get a stack of cards made in a hurry, so I got all the card bases finished with some pattern paper and ribbon. Then tonight, I stamped 6 different images and finished them off. It was super quick and now I have cards ready to pop in the mail when I need them with each of them being just a little different.
A special note to some dear friends ~
I had the BEST weekend! I spent 4 days with 22 wonderful friends at a retreat center in Wisconsin. We laughed (a lot), ate, talked, swapped cards & did many stamping and scrapbooking projects. Several weeks before the retreat, I knew I needed to come up with one project to work on this weekend so that I would feel like I accomplished something. I really wanted to scrapbook our Alaska trip, but felt like with 3,000 pictures, the project was far too big. I decided I needed to simplify the project & not worry about doing books and books full of 12x12 layouts. I spent days looking at various stores and finally found some wonderful acid-free picture albums at Target that you just slide the pictures in the slots ~ so I bought 4 of them. Then I researched the best price and quality of developing my digital prints so I printed about 1,000 of my pictures. I organized all the photos in order and slid them into the right spots. Then I worked on journaling all the places we went and things we saw. I also found out lots and lots of facts about each city we visited to include in the albums. Finally, I gathered all my scrapbooking supplies, paper, stamps & ink that I wanted to use. After several weeks of preparation, I was ready to go!
It took many, many hours at the retreat, but because I planned ahead, I actually finished all 4 albums. They aren't award winning pages at all ~ I basically only did journaling blocks, titles and picture mats. However, they are done so now we can sit down and enjoy the pictures with friends and family. I will go back and do some full 12x12 layouts of this trip with some of the fabulous shots we got, but now I won't feel stressed out about scrapbooking so many pictures & IT'S DONE!
Just a few more tidbits from the new Stampin' Up! Holiday Collection. I went to my upline's house on Monday night and these were the cards that Michelle and Jane designed for us to create (mine are in the post from Sunday). It was a ton of fun ~ Thanks MY for hosting!
I bought these wonderful round tins from Eclectic Paperie and I just love them! I just had to play with my new Autumn Apparitions Stamps set and of course the new Creepy Crawly paper from Stampin' Up! They go together so well! The card is for a shoebox swap and the tins are some gifts for a retreat I'm going to next weekend.
It was time to play with some new Stampin' Up! toys from the Holiday Collection this weekend. My upline is having her quaterly downline meeting tomorrow night and this is what I'm bringing for our shoebox swap. I covered the chipboard snowflake with white craft ink and then covered it with Iridescent Ice embossing powder. It glittered up very nicely! I'm in an all SU card swap with some good friends that I will see next week. I have so much to do before I leave so I decided to keep things pretty simple. After I finished it, I was afraid it was too easy, but it does highlight 4 different SU punches, new pattern paper and new ribbon ~ so how bad could that be ~ LOL! I was happy with the results.
I've had this page going in my head for over a week. Don't you just hate it when you know exactly how you want something to look, but it doesn't turn out like you thought it would? I finished up this page last night (smaller photo below), and I just felt like it wasn't done. After I photographed it this morning, I still felt that way. So I tore it apart 
and started playing with new colors. When I added a scrap of Chocolate Chip cardstock ~ VOILA! That is what it needed! I was thrilled with the result!
