Ambulance wash, actually. They boys had the time of their lives scrubbing the ambulance and sweeping out the bay. Things were sparkling when they were through.

Book Worms
These boys are amazing friends, and they have kept each other busy all summer long. They play so well together that I hardly ever have to get on to them. It was pretty quiet one afternoon. I assumed the boys were playing together in the basement. I went walking into the living room and found them both sitting together just quietly reading books. I love that they love books. Landon is quite a good reader now, and Ethan has been working on learning how to read this summer. I'm so impressed with these smarties.

Swimming Lesson Finale
Well, swimming lessons were successful this summer. Neither of the boys are afraid to go under water anymore, and they LOVE the water! Yippee! These pictures were all taken on their last day of swimming lessons. They were free to do whatever they wanted. Landon and Ethan had tons of fun playing together. Cousin Devon had fun too. He spent his time jumping off of the diving board.

6 Years Old!
Landon is six!
Landon is one of the most amazing people in this world. He is so smart and caring and funny and absolutely amazing. There is no one like him. We LOVE our Landon!
Landon was very excited about his birthday. We started out the day with birthday pancakes. He even found a black berry shaped like the number six! We got to go to the Hamilton pool twice (once for swimming lessons, and once just for some fun), he and Ethan got to play at their favorite friends' house, we got to eat homemade pizza, we all went to see the new Despicable Me movie, and then it was time for presents and ice cream! Landon found a picture of a cake that he wanted me to make. It was "Jake and the Neverland Pirates" themed. The characters on the cake were toys for Landon to keep as a birthday gift. What a fun birthday! Landon could hardly wait to open his presents and Ethan could hardly wait for Landon to open his presents either!

No Training Wheels
Here is a picture of Landon speeding by on his bike without training wheels. Dad made a deal with Landon that if he could learn to ride his bike without training wheels by his 6th birthday, he would get double the birthday presents. Dad started out by taking off the bike pedals. After a couple days of practice, Landon could balance and steer the bike. Daddy put the pedals back on after that. Landon was so great at learning! It didn't take him long and all and now he can do it! No more training wheels for Landon! Way to go Landon!
Sunbeam
Ethan is in the Sunbeam class at church. He absolutely loves his teachers, Brother and Sister Rogers, and he loves the coloring pages that he gets to color every Sunday at the end of each class. Ethan is excellent at coloring. His teacher, Brother Rogers, is always commenting on how impressive Ethan is and how well he colors. He is just so impressed with Ethan. This past Sunday, they had a lesson on families. Ethan got to draw a picture of his family on the chalk board. Brother Rogers made sure I saw it and compared it to the picture of a family drawn on the other chalk board by another little boy (you can see it a little bit in the second picture). Ethan is such a smart boy. We are so proud of Ethan!
Models
While cleaning up the toy room, Ethan re-discovered some toys he had forgotten about at the bottom of the toy bucket. They were all of the little wooden building pieces to the wooden train set. He was busy setting the pieces up for a little while and asked me to take a picture of him with his model. What a cutie pie!

Summer Reading
One of the boys favorite things to do during the summer is be involved in the Library's summer reading program. They earn "book bucks" with the books they read from the library, and then they get to spend their money at the "book buck store." They have earned quite a bit of money and have bought some neat prizes. The boys went to a library activity this past week and had so much fun. The theme for this summer's program is "Travel around the world." Gabby, our librarian, got some people to work together to make this giant puzzle. It was fun for the kids to put together. There were other fun "travel" activities they played, and they ended up with many other fun presents to take home with them. They LOVE the library and all of it's fun activities.
