"Mama"

The primary song "Love is Spoken Here" totally reminds me of my mom.  I honestly remember getting all teary-eyed in primary every time we'd sing that, and the song "Families Can Be Together Forever" because I remember loving my mom so much. . .   "I see my mother kneeling with our family each day.  I hear the words she whispers as she bows her head to pray.  Her plea to the Father quiets all my fears.  And I am thankful, Love is Spoken Here."

"There is no role in life more essential and more eternal than that of motherhood.”
Not just the best mom, but the best Grammy too.
“A mother’s nurturing love arouses in children, from their earliest days on earth, an awakening of the memories of love and goodness they experienced in their pre-mortal existence.  Because our mothers love us, we learn, or more accurately remember, that God also loves us.”
Elder M. Russell Ballard

"As a mother you have been given divine instincts to help you sense your child’s special talents and unique capacities,” Elder Scott.
I've definitely felt help from a divine Heavenly Father as I'm learning how to be a mom to this boy.

Elder Holland says, “May I say to mothers collectively, in the name of the Lord, you are magnificent. You are doing terrifically well. The very fact that you have been given such a responsibility is everlasting evidence of the trust your Father in Heaven has in you.”

With this being my first Mother's Day as a Mother myself, it is meaning more to me this year than it probably ever has.  I mean, I've always loved Mother's Day because well, I LOVE MY MOM.  I always looked forward to having a day dedicated just to her.  It was the ONE day of the whole year that I think she got to relax, if even for just a few minutes while we all scurried to serve her.  But this year as Mother's Day approaches and I think about my own Mom, I feel more blessed than ever because I finally understand the love she has for me and the sacrifice she made for me.
Flowers for Mama.
I absolutely love being a Mom.  Yes it's lots of work sometimes, but it is mostly fun and for sure is the most rewarding and fulfilling calling I've ever had!  My mom made growing up so much fun!  She created so many fun times and memories for us.  She still does.  And she raised us with all the love  she has.  I never ever questioned my mom's love for me or mine for her.  She's just the best I tell you.
I can't get enough of her!
This Mother's Day I am thankful to be a mom.  I am so grateful that my Father in Heaven trusted me enough to allow little old me this opportunity.  I especially feel blessed that I get to be the mother of Treagan.  He is such a little stud.  He's so sweet, and I honestly could not ask for more in a son.  I hope and pray every single day that I can raise him in love and righteousness and can teach him to love his Savior.  I hope Kelly and I can teach him together about love, keeping the commandments, and be examples to him.  Anyway, my little heart is just feeling so full of gratitude.
Heaven.
Gratitude that I am a mom.

The first time I held him.
Gratitude that my own Mama is my bestest friend.
Love her.
Gratitude that I have a husband who loves Treagan's mom.
Yes I am pregnant in this picture in case you were too scared to ask me.
Gratitude that I have a great M-I-L.
He definitely scored in the Grandma department.
Gratitude for all that I have been blessed with.
Together Forever.
Happy Mother's Day to all the Mama's who are amazing examples to me!

Fam Photos

We decided it was time to do some family pics.  I just can't help but smile when I look through these, because it seriously makes me stop and realize just how blessed I really am.  I love anything that causes me to slow down and love life!   And OH Treagan was a champ.  Phew.  He put on a pretty good smile even though it was nap time and we were all freezing!  I definitely struggled with coming up with our attire. . . I wanted us to look good together, but not be totally matchy-matchy.  Lucky for me, I think it all came together, regardless of my inept sense of fashion.  Oh well.  We used Heather Telford Photography, and we loved her!  Pretty sure we will go back for more!  She's incredible.  As a person and a photographer.  And as always, I can't just pick a couple. . . So here's plenty o pics.  Mostly for you, Idaho Grammy and Grampy.

PS- I think you should click on the pictures so you can see them better!

What is happening?

I have no idea how the last 9 months have flown by as fast as they have, but our little mister is 9 months old!  Nine months seems like a big milestone to me because it's just crazy to think he was cooking inside of me for as long as he's been out now.  The other mind blowing thing for me is that for his next well-baby check, he will be a year old!  I can't even stand it.
Here they are, the 9 month stats:
Weight- 19 lbs. 1 oz. 26%
Length- 29.2"  81%
Head- 45.2 cm  48%
A tall and lean machine!  The Doc also estimated that he's gonna be about 6'3". We hope so!  We shall see.
Just entertaining Mom and Dad while we wait for Dr. Johnson.
Treagan brings me and Kelly so much joy!  He's the happiest, silliest, sweetest little guy and we are just so thankful he is ours.  He brightens my day everyday, and honestly makes me want to be a much better person.
King of the table at our little FHE BBQ
Look at him trying to stand up on his own!
Wet from playing in the sprinklers
First sprinkler run!
Here he is trying on his new life jacket- we can't wait to put it to good use on the boat this summer!
These days he wants nothing to do with crawling or sitting, and everything to do with walking or standing.  He loves that we can play outside so much more, and his favorite thing to do out there is sit on the grass and eat it, or the dirt.  He is 100% boy.  He loves climbing, running, eating, sleeping, playing, making messes and laughing.  His favorite foods are any of the baby fruits (no more baby veggies), cottage cheese, waffles, eggs, yogurt, mac n cheese, grilled cheese, and pured minestrone.  He really will eat just about anything we are eating though, and he really loves going out to eat with us, or with Mommy and friends.  Like I mentioned in my last post, he's got two teeth barely poking through up top, and I think the bottoms are about to make their debut.  I'm excited for him to have teeth so he can eat more of the good stuff.
Doin what he does best.
Just smoochin on one of his fav. lunch dates, Stella.
That's right.  This crazy monkey can climb the entire flight of stairs!
He loves when I let him on the other side of the gate.  He can get into all sorts of trouble
there.  Notice Holly's tipped over water bowl.  NAUGHTY!
Thank you cousin Stephy for this awesome hand-me-down play table!
I think one of the best parts of parenting is seeing his little personality develop.  Physically, he obviously got Mama's big eyes, and Daddy's cute nose.  But he eats and laughs like Dad, rubs his little feet together like Dad, loves the dog like Dad, and kisses Mommy everyday like Dad does.  He's a very busy body just like Mama, and he tries to be so tough, but will definitely cry when he gets his feeling hurt. . . just like Mom.
Playing in the freshly mowed grass.
Yup, feelings are hurt . . . all because my mean mommy won't let me eat any more dirt!
Trey is always making some sort of noise.  "SSS-SSS, Da-da-da, Ba-ba-ba, Ay-ay-ay, tay, and hi" are usually what we hear.  And. . .  the very occasional "Ma-ma."  He's also got a pretty good raptor call that he does when he's excited. It's to die for.  He tries to whistle to himself when he is focused on something and will wave and wrinkle his nose at anybody that walks by.  He pulls up on everything and is starting to cruise from one place to another.  I love it when he crawls up to my feet and puts his arms up for me to hold him. He still enjoys tubby time, but hates getting his diaper changed because he just doesn't seem to have time for it!   Another thing Trey has started doing just in the last few days is dance.  Anytime music comes on he stops whatever he is doing and bounces up and down.  We sing, "Go Teago, go Teago, shake your booty!!"  And he thinks he's pretty smooth.
Busted.
Watching Baby Signing Time and attempting to learn the sign, "eat."
Happy 9 months to our handsome little boy!  We love you little best friend!
