Meow-lloween!

By now I'm sure you've seen the fabulous new Halloween images that Art Impressions has come out with for 2016, and I have a few of them to share today!  Here are three cards using Meow-lloween Set (Sku #4786):

These were such fun images to colour!  I used a mix of patterned papers, cutting a couple of rectangles on the diagonal, and using them for a couple of cards.
And this is what I call a 'Simple Spinner Card' - unlike the Ai Spinners that have a front and back image that spin around, this is just a single image that I cut out with an oval die, and then mounted some patterned paper onto the backside, after sandwiching a piece of thread down the middle.  I used my next largest oval die to cut an opening in my card base, and suspended my little oval in the middle of it.  (So you can turn just about any image into a spinner!)

Now is a great time to check out all of the Halloween images that are available in the Ai store, and get started on your Halloween crafting!

Bonus New Year's Eve post!

I was scrolling through a few card photos... and came across three that I don't think I've posted this year.  So I thought I'd sneak them onto my blog as my final post of 2015.  Here are two spinners that I made for Art Impressions last summer, and a try-fold I did about a year ago:

Thanks to everyone who stops by my blog now and again - I appreciate the comments, and hopefully I've given you a little inspiration along the way.  I'm already working away on new projects for January, and look forward to seeing what the rest of you are busy making this year.  Have a very Happy New Year!

Chair Spinner

*This is my second blog post today!  Please scroll down to see the High Hopes/OCS blog hop!
Have you tried the fabulous Ai Spinners??  They're such fun to assemble - I have a fairly simple one to share today, but one of my favourite things is to figure out new & interesting ways to put these together.  They make fabulous easel cards, and there are all kinds of options with windows & fancy folds.  **You should definitely check out the Art Impressions Pinterest board - there is a link on the blog sidebar - you'll find all kinds of ideas for the spinners and the entire collection of Ai products.  Enough chatter... here is Chair Spinner (Sku #4574):
I find this the quickest way to put a spinner together.  After colouring and fussy cutting each image, I sandwich a piece of thread between them when gluing them back to back (make sure to glue the thread down well so that the spinner is strong enough).  I find thread spins well and works well, but string or twine can work, too.  As long as you have at least one additional layer of paper or cardstock, you can hide the ends of the thread between them so that the inside of your card remains clean as well.  Here's a back view of her spinning:
Happy stamping!
Copics used: Skin - E11, E00, E000, R20

Launching new Art Impressions Spinners!

I have some very fun new stamps/cards to share with you today... Art Impressions Spinners!

The Design Team is helping to launch 6 new spinning stamp sets - and their matching dies!  The sets include a front and back image, as well as a sentiment.  After colouring and cutting them out, you sandwich a piece of thread or string in between the two images, and suspend it in an opening large enough that will allow your image to spin.  If you spin your image several times, and then put your card into an envelope - when the recipient opens it up, your creation will spin around several times.  *Click here to see a tutorial that I posted on my blog a few weeks ago, and you'll see step by step instructions.  I have four cards to share today (and stay tuned for more to come in the days ahead!).  Here are Scaredy Spinner (Sku #4575):
And Throttle Spinner (Sku #4572): - I made this one a little differently; here is the outside:
And when you open it up, here's our wild scooter lady:
Here's an overhead shot so that you can see how I put her together:
There are two more images in the collection - I'll be posting one on Tuesday, but if you hop on over to the Ai blog, you'll see what the rest of the Design Team has put together.

We are also launching a new challenge today, which is "Cards with Movement" - hope you can join us :o)
