This morning I waited until the kids left for school and then I hiked up a trail on the hill behind our neighborhood and then ran down the other side... past the reservoir... down some more trails home. It was beautiful! I was a little nervous about rattle snakes, but I didn't run into any. The view on that hike/run is amazing. It's one of my favorite "runs". They built a house right on the trail head so I had to find another way to the trail. The worse part was all the sage brush and sun flowers... I sneezed for about 5 minutes straight! I even took allergy meds before I left. :oP
Hiking up was a little tough on my calves... they just wouldn't stretch out. They finally felt good about 2/3 of the way up. On the way down, my ankles were not very happy with all the rocks and the uneven trail... but I did pretty good as soon as I hit the paved trails.
It took longer than I'd hoped, but I did it. :o)
4 miles ~ more time than I'd care to admit
