A thrilling dark fantasy, free today!
"Intense and brutally chilling! This will make you think twice about accepting a friend request on Facebook." -- Lilith Falls, Amazon reviewer
Social Media Holocaust brings you to the precipice and keeps you there, contemplating whether or not you have the courage to log in again! A gritty technothriller, engineered by Brian Krogstad and Damien Darby, it makes you think twice about using the net. Billions of people access social media sites across the digital sphere every day, and yet they stayed fairly harmless; until now. What if these pixilated parts of our lives weren't risk-free anymore, but matters of life and death? What if the secret unprecedented threat they represent simply went largely unnoticed?
Murder, horror, tyranny, and Marshal Law... What evil lurks behind the likes, tags, shares, and the mask? Killers begin to come after us at random from Facebook, and before you know it, our cultures are unraveling. For no apparent reason at all, you receive a friend request from a mysterious masked stranger. Do you accept it, or ignore and deny it' You'd better think hard because in this story, the consequences for you and your friends list can be grisly. Advanced readers are already likening this dark fantasy to the heavy hitters in the genre, dripping with creepy paranoid overtones that thrill and terrify.
Explore a scenario where Social Media becomes a vehicle for apocalyptic scenarios, globalized murder, and the potential demise of civil society. Social Media Holocaust is the follow-up to Krogstad's stunning first novel Dark Application: ONE (which debuted with comparisons to Michael Crichton, Lincoln and Child, and Robert Ludlum); is certain to please the most discerning technothriller fan. The latest of Damien's ventures into the realm of ebooks, this work definitely shows he's growing as an author by leaps and bounds, stretching into more genres than even he expected when his journey began.

A historical fantasy, free today!
"A great story filled with tense scenes. The world described is evocative, atmospheric and really nails the sense of uncertainty as the folk, left behind by Rome's withdrawal from the British Isles at the beginning of the Dark Ages, try to protect themselves and rebuild their culture. There's also a strong sense of mystery, magic and adventure as the plight of the main characters unfolds while they move through the landscape toward their destiny. (Can't say anymore without spoiling!) As you get to know the characters' strengths, weaknesses, hopes and fears I really found myself relating to them and visualizing who they were. There are some unforeseen and unexpected twists too which move the story forward nicely and some exciting battle/ skirmish scenes. I really was hooked from the beginning. Having read quite a few published novels in the same vein I would rate this for sure. Highly entertaining!" -- Amazon reviewer
We grow up with the Legend of King Arthur ... But where did he come from' Who was Merlin' What part did the Druids play in bringing Arthur to his round table' This is the story that came before, when Britain was just a Shadowland.
Shadowland is a story of historical fantasy set in Dark Ages Britain.
`I have lived more years than I can remember, probably more than the sum of all your years combined. Kings have called me friend and brigands have sworn to burn the flesh from my bones even if they have to search all seven halls of the shadowland to find me.'
On the night of midwinter's eve, a storyteller takes his listeners back to the Dark ages and a tale from his youth.
Deserted by its Roman masters, Britain has been invaded by the Saxons at the invitation of Vortigern, traitorous leader of the Britons. Now, as the tribes unite to reclaim their land, one man must rise to lead them and become their true and only king.

"Brad Convissar is known for writing Twilight Zone type horror stories. Pandora's Box and Dogs of War are amazing short stories and novellas. This is his first novel and I've been waiting months to read it. I was not disappointed! It's about serial killers, the paranormal/occult. It's a thriller. It's exciting. Just when you think it can't get worse, it does. My only question? Are you working on another novel? I hope so!" -- Amazon reviewer
In the Fall of 1955, the state of Nevada used the electric chair to execute a prisoner for the first time.
It was also the last time.
Molly Blackburn, nicknamed Jane the Ripper by the Las Vegas press after killing eleven men while posing as a prostitute, was strapped to the chair without incident. The switch was flipped.
Everything after that went horribly wrong.
Since that day, a copycat Jane the Ripper has appeared almost every decade in a different city, mimicking Molly's choice in victims as well as her methods of murder. She kills eleven men then disappears, never to be found. The similarities between the bodies left behind each decade is uncanny. As if they are all the victims of the same murderer, not a copycat.
But that's impossible, of course, because Molly Blackburn is dead, her execution witnessed by a dozen people.
FBI Agent Jack Shaw, the lead investigator in the Jane the Ripper cases since the seventies, finally catches a break in 2009 when the intended fifth victim manages to turn the tables on the newest copycat . Everyone believes that the horror has finally ended with her capture. Shaw is not so sure, though, wondering if someone else will take up the mantle and kill seven more men to complete the cycle. But when no more bodies with her distinctive markings show up over the next two years, Shaw allows himself to believe that maybe he has seen the end of the Jane the Ripper murders.
As it turns out, what he thought was the end was only the beginning.
His hunt will take him across the country, and even when he thinks he's finally discovered the truth, he quickly learns that not everything is as it seems.
That not every monster is created equal.
That the nature of good and evil is not as black and white as he has always believed.
That not everything that is broken can be put back together.
That not every fractured soul can be saved.
When blood, smoke and ashes rise, no one comes out the same on the other side.
Blood, Smoke and Ashes is a 115,00 word supernatural thriller that also contains the first half of my crime/thriller novella "I Never"

Brooke Connelly is beautiful, smart, talented, kind and courageous. A great combination. Unless of course your boyfriend is in the mob, and you happen to know the genuinely nice guy who is his next hit. Get this suspenseful thriller, free today!
"It has an excellent plot and twist and turns that can leave you anxious to find out what happens next. Its got a good thriller and crime combination in it. And that works very well for those who enjoy this genre. The author has some great talent and it is reflected in this book. This being her first book that I am reading I must say I am quite impressed. I will look at some other works of hers but for now, you look into "The Ties That Bind", a good story with the right amount of thrill! This book has more twists and turns than a maze, and will keep you engaged just as well. I really enjoyed it, and will read more by Ms. Tandori." -- Amazon reviewer
In this, the standalone prequel to TOO LITTLE, TOO LATE...Four years ago, Brooke Connelly made the biggest mistake of her life when she betrayed her mobster boyfriend by tipping off the intended victim of his next hit. Thanks to her timely intervention, Chaz Longo was able to flee Las Vegas while Brooke opted to stay behind; a decision that nearly cost Brooke her life after she was beaten and left for dead by her boyfriend in retaliation for her betrayal. In desperation, Brooke turned to one of the most powerful men in Las Vegas for protection – unaware that her arrangement with Clint Staebler was non-negotiable and permanent.
Brooke has since relocated to L.A., where she’s the general manager of a popular restaurant and nightclub, both owned by Clint Staebler. With her recent engagement to a prominent Beverly Hills doctor and the impending arrival of their baby through a surrogate, Brooke is determined to cut all ties to her past but the cards seem to be stacked against her when her fiancĂ© is enlisted to treat Chaz Longo, barely alive after foolishly returning to Vegas and crossing paths with Brooke’s former boyfriend. Brooke’s life is further complicated when her fiancĂ© finds out about her past relationship with Clint Staebler and demands to know where her loyalties lie, especially after Chaz is later gunned down in Clint’s nightclub and Brooke is strangely reluctant to quit her job. Caught between a murderer and a man who refuses to let her go at all costs, Brooke plays her one trump card in the hope that it will be powerful enough to sever her ties to her past, once and for all.

Free today, this work of historical fiction was long-listed for the 2012 ReLit Award for Fiction.
"Morgan has written a book that is highly original and beautifully executed. The balance between the Roman world and the modern world is maintained with skill and adroitness, and the narrative is deftly woven through both of these time periods, never faltering or losing momentum. The Last Stoic is a fascinating, parallel look at two societies who are not, as it turns out, as different or distinct as one might think." -- Trina Brookes, Amazon reviewer
The Last Stoic is a story of appetite and fear, both modern and ancient. Half of the story's narrative occurs in the time and place of the ancient Roman Empire; the other half occurs in the present-day United States. The parallels between the two eras are so strong that the narrative continues uninterrupted as the setting shifts from historic Rome to modern America, alternating from chapter to chapter.
Marcus, a young man from a northern provincial border town, journeys deep into the heart of the empire and witnesses first-hand the excesses that can lead to ruin, both personal and political. His story offers an ancient commentary on the preoccupations of our own turbulent times. Shortly after his arrival, the empire is thrown into a panic by an unprecedented barbarian attack on the capital. Suspicion and paranoia abound. A young Roman/American runaway named Patrick, disillusioned with his own life and the state of his country, becomes convinced that Marcus is a dangerous traitor. Culminating in a public accusation made by Patrick, Marcus is wrongfully imprisoned, exiled and tortured as an enemy of the state. In prison, he confronts the many contradictions he has found in his adopted home, and in himself.
Throughout the story, in both eras, the writings of the philosopher-emperor Marcus Aurelius (The Meditations) insinuate themselves unexpectedly into Marcus' life. In prison, he is saved by a chance meeting with Sextus Condianus, the "last Stoic" of the title, a cell-mate who is able to fully recite Aurelius' words and impart their wisdom. Ultimately, it is this unanticipated and unbidden instruction that gives the young man the strength he requires to survive. It becomes evident that the words of the venerable Stoic emperor have as much relevance to our own era as they did to his.

A gripping non-fiction account of surviving cancer, this memoir is free today!
"Jay Otterbacher has written a deeply insightful and sometimes brutally honest book that should be helpful to anyone who has heard the startling words "It's Cancer." This is a gripping story about a couple's simultaneous journey from diagnosis, through the labyrinthine path of treatment and, ultimately, to recovery and cure. Readers will come to understand the importance of becoming an active participant in the decision-making process and not merely the passive recipient of treatment. I'm pleased to give this book an enthusiastic recommendation." -- Gere B. Fulton, Ph. D., J. D., Professor Emeritus of Public Health, The University of Toledo (Ohio)
Thirty-Two Weeks They Could Never Have Imagined -
When your wife is diagnosed with cancer it is agonizing. When both of you are diagnosed within weeks of each other the uncertainty is relentless. Jay Otterbacher's memoir details one unbelievable year he could never have imagined. Anyone with a friend, colleague or loved one facing cancer can better understand what they are going through from this amazing story of thirty-two weeks in 2006.
"It's Cancer" provides an unfiltered view behind the public facade into the home, relationships and treatment of one ordinary couple facing an inconceivable battle against two cancers at the same time. The implausible circumstances created the story. This narrative captures it in an open and friendly manner that allows you to be there with Karen and Jay as they use humor and strength to navigate through the fear, stress and uncertainty that all cancer patients know too well.
Inspiration and Insight - Whether it was family, friends, dolphins or doctors something always appeared just the way it had to at just the time they needed it during this incredible year. Jay shares the impact that each of these encounters had on their fight with the disease and their perspectives on life.
If you have been told "It's Cancer", this book can be a source of hope and inspiration while you learn from the choices (both good and bad) that Karen and Jay made in their treatment and in communicating with the people who cared about them. If cancer has touched someone in your life the details captured in this book will give you insight into the week to week grind of the fight to regain control of their lives.
From the Book: When he finished walking us through the plan I asked about mastectomy. He said it was not even something he was considering in Karen's case. He explained that mastectomy was invasive surgery with a long recovery time and there was no evidence that it would improve her survival chances. I thought about debating with him since I had about twelve hours of exhaustive internet self-study on breast cancer but since we loved his answer I let him ride on this one.
By the time we had walked back across the causeway through the hospital and to our car, Karen had her jaw set. She was going to beat this and she was going to do it in a big way. She declared that she wanted an elliptical machine so she could work out at home and stay in shape during her recovery. I responded that we would get one. Karen let me know that that was not good enough; she wanted one now. We drove from the hospital to an exercise equipment store.
They had six or eight different models in the store, three of which were on sale. Karen pointed to one of the top models and said "that one". At that point the salesman in the store started his pitch on a lesser model that was on sale. He apparently did not understand that the answer to everything that day was to be yes. I gave him a shut up look, a credit card and asked how much to have it delivered that day. By the end of the day it was installed in our exercise room.
It would be nine months before either of us would use it.

"This is a story that truly captures the imagination from the start. Capri's story of love and loss draws you in and you can't put it down. With plenty of twists and turns to keep you on the edge of your seat, this book will make you want to find out what will happen next and leave you anxious for the next installment. A definite must read!" -- Amazon reviewer

Her name was Capri, and she was Air.
She was born with a gift she didn't understand. A gift so strange, so remarkable that she had kept it secret for as long as she could remember, despising that it made her different when all she wanted was to be normal, to belong. As an orphan, belonging to someone, anyone, would have been an incredible blessing, one she would have given up all that she had just to get a taste of.
But the truth was that she didn't belong in the orphanage in Virginia, or even in the United States. In fact, she didn't belong with human beings at all. Because she wasn't one of them, not really. She was something much more extraordinary.
She could shift the direction of the wind, create billowing clouds out of nothing, and charm birds into dancing on her open palm. She belonged to an elite group of beings, responsible for preserving the balance of nature and the safety of Earth from an underworld that deserved to be feared, and needed to be controlled. And after years of being lost, she had at last been found, and now the truth of how she had ended up so far from home was becoming horribly clear to her.
But there's someone who doesn't want her to return; someone who knows Capri was the only witness to an act of heinous treason and violent murder. And when she begins to search her memories for details of the night she was taken from her home, details that will implicate a killer, she finds herself the unwary target of an otherworldly dark force intent on silencing her by any means possible.
