stephmodo

I have followed Stephanie's blog (stephmodo forever). If you don't already it is delightful and full of beautiful original content. I love that her pie shaped boxes and picnic flatware are now being sold at Anthropologie!

I admire Athropologie for working with people instead of simply knocking them off.

thanksgiving

I thought you might like to see a couple pictures from our thanksgiving. It was just us and my mother in law. My girls were in charge of decorating the table.
And they insisted that we get dressed up. (I was very happy in my jeans.) Charlotte is wearing the dress she had me make her for her graduation. It is our Gigi dress (much shorter).
We only eat in the dining room twice a year so it feels very special. If you have little ones stop blinking because they that's how long it takes for them to grow up.

Memorial Day

I am very thankful to the men and women who gave their lives for our country.

This is a photo of my father a Marine who served in World War II and Korea.

He was awarded the silver star medal for gallantry in action.
Thank you to all the men and women who have served or are serving.

christmas

All of the catalogues are getting me excited for Christmas.  I love the idea of tiny advent gifts.  I have done them for my children and my coworkers at Pears + Bears.  I am loving this one from Garnet Hill.  It would also be fun to knit yourself or make with vintage finds.

Why Christmas trees aren't perfect

I love family traditions. One of our family's favorites takes place every night between Thanksgiving and Christmas. We have been doing it for years. We all go into our living room and one child gets to light a candle, pick the Christmas story and then blow out the candle. Above are some of the books that get chosen over and over.
