I spent Saturday afternoon at a tiny but gorgeous market, as part of the Yn Chruinnaght Inter-Celtic Festival. It was a lovely gathering of some of the NICEST makers and producers on the island, with live music and a great crowd.

I've just come home from my first market on the island. I was really nervous, though I knew that was silly - I've done a market in Sydney for goodness sake! 

But it was a lovely evening - I had a sweet spot right by the door, it wasn't too cold and I had a good natter with other local makers.

Some gorgeous online friends came to say hello - Facebook continues to amaze me. Thank you!

Udessi will be at The Big Design Market Melbourne on Friday 7, Saturday 8 + Sunday 9 December!
Hosted at The Royal Exhibition Building, this will be the biggest market of its kind in Australia, bringing together the best of independent Australian + international design over 3 huge days. Look out for my wee little porcelain cups!

Yesterday we (the Gold Coast Potters' Association) celebrated the closing of our Annual Members Exhibition with a Christmas Market! 50 stalls, including ceramics, wood turning, weaving, jewellery and demonstrations, along with gorgeous cakes and a wicked band, made for an excellent day in the sunshine!

The Gold Coast Potters' Association Annual Members' Exhibition opened at Clay Art Benowa on Saturday 10 November. My work is exhibited along with 25+ members of the Association until the closing day of Sunday 25 November, which we are celebrating with a market!

Twice a year The Old Museum in Brisbane plays host to The Finders Keepers Markets. 

The markets bring together new contemporary independent artists and designers; every market event is unique and they always rotate the designers and introduce new ones.

What to say about Sydney? We had a ball. My cheeks ached from smiling and my throat was sore from talking, gasping and laughing. Eveleigh Artisans' Market was magic. I've just arrived home from a very marvellous trip to Sydney after participating in Awesome Clay at Eveleigh! with The Australian Ceramics Association. I unpacked my bags last night and loaded the work straight back into my car, ready to hit the studio this morning to prepare for my Seconds + Sales Sale at Miami Marketta on Friday!

Friday was the very first birthday of Miami Marketta! I was so proud to be there to celebrate - it was my 1st anniversary of market-going!

 

Big love to everyone who visited, bought me brownies, gave me moral support, purchased pots, served me hot chocolate and helped me pack up. You all rock.

It's time for a tidy up in the studio. I'll be back at Miami Marketta next week (for their first birthday!) and to celebrate I'll be having a little seconds sale. All of the pots were made with love and care, but something went wrong along the way; bad glaze, underfired then badly refired, cracked, warped, or they just didn't look right to me.
