pots x paint

Throwing seems to be my focus of late, which is all good and well to hone my rookie skills, but it leaves me with huge amounts of pots to paint at once...!

This is all a bit minimalistic (is that even a word?) for me, but the prospect of soft white unglazed porcelain is rather tempting.

Thursday means it's time for Mud Colony!

Spoons!

The spoons worked! No slumping or warping, and after a good sand with wet and dry paper, the unglazed stoneware is fairly lick-able. 

[the yellow and blue ones are my fav by far.]

Oh hello there! I just popped across the Tasman Sea for a few days of heaven in New Zealand.

Hurrah! for successful glaze tests! Let's hope they work out just as well on the actual pots...

Orange - Walker's FW5808: [l-r] 0.5%, 1%, 4% + 4%

Lime green - [l-r] 4% Yellow Walker's FW5400 + 0.5 %, 0.75%, 1%, 1.5% Copper Carbonate

Black: Walker's FW5601: [l-r] 2%, 3% + 4%
