.: Review : Organic Aid Vitamin E Moisturizing Cream :.
I honestly can’t get enough of my Organic Aid Vitamin E Facial Foam, so it is with much pleasure that I get a sample of Organic Aid Vitamin E Moisturizing Cream to compliment my said facial foam.
Organic Aid Vitamin E Moisturizing Cream contains natural Vitamin E and is non-comedogenic (which means it does not contain any ingredient proven to block pores aka non-occlusive) and hypo-allergenic (less likely to cause allergic reaction). Organic Aid Vitamin E Moisturizing Cream is said to benefit one skin by enhancing the skin elasticity which tones and smoothes out fine wrinkle. It also soothes and refreshes dry, irritated skin as well as protects skin against sun and wind. Because it is rich with Vitamin E, it is also beneficial in moisturizing and nourishing dry skin by retaining and enhancing the skin’s moisture balance without the greasy feel.
Now, I am one who has dry skin, hence it is important to me to have a GOOD moisturizer that prevents my skin from further drying and flaking, especially more so with the fact that I spend at least 20 hours in an air conditioned room/car. I have tried at least 4 different brands of moisturizer (on a long run) and a couple of dozens of sample packs and have never stuck to one because I am still in search of a good moisturizer that suits my skin.
And then there was Organic Aid Vitamin E Moisturizing Cream and I do have very high expectations of it, because of my positive review on Organic Aid Vitamin E Facial Foam.
After giving a good ol’ wash using the said facial foam, I opened the bottle of Organic Aid Vitamin E Moisturizing Cream. I was abit skeptical at first, because the texture looked very thick. My skepticism was amplified when I dipped my fingers into the pot and the thick-looking cream felt even thicker and creamier than it looked. I proceed to rub the cream in between the palm of my hands, and massage the cream gently onto my face, half heartedly at that. Was I pleasantly surprised that the cream absorbed very well into my skin, and left no traces of oiliness and greasiness that I earlier feared. No, I didn’t have to worry about walking around looking like I’ve slobbered oil all over my face.
Again, like the facial foam, I love that the scent of this moisturizing cream is very naturally light and natural fragrance, which I just can’t help but fall in love! Best of all, it did a great job keeping my skin moist and dry minus the grease and oiliness and the effect last for the whole day (didn’t even bother ‘topping up’).
I am overall very pleased with Organic Aid Vitamin E Moisturizing Cream, and it comes very highly recommended! It is retailing at major pharmacies or hypermarket for an affordable RM14.90.

.: Dandruff Be Gone :.
I have had dandruff problems for as long as I could remember. Sad!
It is usually quite manageable, but of late, it has been getting worse.
My scalp itches most of the time, and the dandruff flakes are getting more and more. The more I scratch, the more it flakes and the more I injure my scalp.
I reckon it is because of stress, and yes, because of work problems & because of off-work problems, I am having sleepless nights of late. A snoring husband doesn’t help.
So, before my dandruff problems become more severe – my mom suggested that I use some prescribed anti-dandruff shampoo she got from our family doctor.
I tried it one day, and lo and behold – the flaking actually got worse!
I was so agitated, as I was not only flaking, but the itch is really getting to me. So, I decided to try a traditional natural remedy – apple cider vinegar.
What I did was took some apple cider vinegar and rub it on my scalp all over. There was a pain sensation on areas that I have scratched so bad that it was injured, but it’s much bearable than the annoying itch. The itch stopped almost immediately. I took a towel and wrapped my hair into a turban as I catch the downloaded Criminal Mind series (thanks to bff Dominic Shiu Mun Keith *private joke*) on TV (Yes, I finally have a TV – tho it’s a hand-me-down-comes-with-the-huge-TV-cabinet, it better than nothing huh?)
I rinsed my hair with warm water (apparently hot water damaged one’s hair) and lather a bit of shampoo coz I didn’t really like the smell. Some site says that the smell would go off, but I just couldn't bear with it, so I decided to rinse it off with a lil bit of shampoo. And guess what – IT WORKS! No more flakes, no more itch! One happy Kath!
So if any of you encounter similar problem as I did, try out this technique before throwing good ol’ hard earn cash in an expensive bottle of medicated shampoo.
P/S : Apparently it helps with thinning/falling hair also, but since it is acidic, it is advised not to use it so frequently, about once a week will do. Will try it out for the next couple of time and see if it really works!

.: Review : Rimmel Mono Eyeshadow :.
The eye is the jewel of the body - Henry David Thoreau
The eyes are the amulets of the mind – William R Alger
A guy once told me that the most alluring body part of a girl is her *surprise, surprise* eyes! He said, in a very philosophical manner, that a person’s eyes are the window to his or her soul. And he went on and on about it, but I was too busy staring at some girl's long, sexy legs that I wasn't paying much attention anymore! (no, I'm most definately straight, but beauty are meant to be admired right? *teehee*)
Anyways, expanding on that, it’s no wonder that women are willing to invest time & money to install good “curtains”. Eyeshadows, mascaras, eyeliners, etc – all this products just on a lil bodypart, but then again, every lil details counts right?
Before I digress, let’s get back to the review of one of the products that frames and give colour to your eyes – eyeshadow. More specifically – Rimmel Mono Eyeshadow Siren #030!
Product Name : Rimmel Mono Eyeshadow Siren #030
Product Size : 2.4 gram
Retail Selling Price : RM14.90
My first thought upon receiving Rimmel Mono Eyeshadow was “Oh, how cute!”
Packed in a small, travel-friendly sized compact, Rimmel Mono Eyeshadow has this really cute embossed signature Rimmel crown logo. Upon further inspection, I realised that the clear compact was a tad bit flimsy and delicate, and I reckon it wouldn’t last a week in my hurricane-messed handbag. It would have been great if the compact came in a slightly better quality. Also, I noticed that it doesn’t have an applicator brush, which would have been a bonus if they do, coz when you just wanna have a quick touch up, a readily available applicator brush would be perfect.
I took a test swab with my fingers and my initial assessment was that although the colour is richly pigmented, but it was not as intense as I thought it to be. It is not exactly in your bubble gum pink but more of a magenta pink (pink with a bit of a purplish undertone). I am impressed with the silkiness of the texture of this eyeshadow.
I used my eyeshadow brush to apply to the lid of my eyes, and using my fingers, started to blend it. I am again impressed with it blendability (is there even such a word?) and it doesn’t crease and it’s not too chalky.
With just one layer, the pink stands out just enough for one to notice that I have make up on, but still look au naturel as well (just the way I like to look for my daytime make up). To bring it to one that is suitable for nightwear and worthy to be called 'bold' as the product described, I increased the intensity by layering it a couple of times more. The pink colour really did stand out after about three layers, setting straight my initial judgement that the colour was not intense enough.
I was also happy with the fact that the eyeshadow could last for a reasonable number of hours, though the claim of 8 hours is stretching the facts a tad bit too far. Having said that, I believe that if I wear to wear some eyeshadow primer (which I usually don’t anyways), it would have lasted slightly longer.
There are two other colours - Rimmel Mono Eyeshadow Tempted (Blue) #020 (check out Isabel's review here) & Rimmel Mono Eyeshadow Envy (Green) #010 (check out Aisyah's review here) to choose from if pink is not your colour, so you might want to check it out!

There are two other colours - Rimmel Mono Eyeshadow Tempted (Blue) #020 (check out Isabel's review here) & Rimmel Mono Eyeshadow Envy (Green) #010 (check out Aisyah's review here) to choose from if pink is not your colour, so you might want to check it out!

.: Review : Adidas Happy Game Deodorant Body Spray :.
Life is a game to be played and enjoyed!
That is the inspiration behind Adidas newest women’s fragrance, Happy Game joining with the other ranges of women fragrance from Adidas like Active Start, Fair Play, Fruity Rhythm, and more. The Happy Game fragrance is made for today’s dynamic young woman who is active and sporty, natural and feminine. And with her positive outlook on life, she’s always ready to take on the next great adventure.
Fret not if you do fall under that category; I don’t see myself as active, sporty or feminine for that matter, but I still believe that this deodorant is meant for all woman alike.
I love the packaging that it comes in, portraying a natural yet feminine feel. The vibrant sea-green makes one feel refreshed and with bright pink wordings to give this bottle a feminine touch. And of course the iconic Adidas logo placed on the top of the spray.
The spray bottle is pretty much like most deodorant spray, with a cap and a nozzle to press on. There was a lil click for the first use (that’s how you know that your bottle has not been used – I wanna say something crude, but let’s just leave it as it is for now! hehe!)
When I sprayed it on, I just fell in love with the fragrance!
It smells absolutely refreshing. One can detect the strong floral scent of freesia, dewy jasmine & flamboyant flower, but not overpowering. The modern blend of melon blossom, cranberry & sparkling Clementine sorbet gives a tinge of sweet & citrusy note to the scent that is light and again not overpowering so one don’t come out smelling like a car freshener. It has a sensual lingering lush base note of blond wood, solar musk & golden amber that can last for hours long. The above combination of top, middle & base note blends produces Happy Game & makes a happy me! :)
Retailing at RM 16.90 for 75ml in all major supermarkets & pharmacies near you, you may want to check out Adidas Happy Game Deodorant Body Spray.

.: Review : Organic Aid Vitamin E Facial Foam :.
If I had to isolate and choose just one type of vitamin for my skin care range, I would pick Vitamin E.
Vitamin E acts as an antioxidant, which means it creates a layer of protection, protecting your delicate skin cells from the harmful UV lights, pollution and other damaging free radicals. Vitamin E also plays an important roll in the anti-aging of the skin, reducing both fine lines and wrinkles. It also helps reduces stretch marks and age spots. Vitamin E is often found in sunscreen as it not only prevents but also treats sunburn and hence it is claimed to play an important role in the prevention of skin cancer. It also aids in the treatment of various skin diseases or skin conditions as well as acne & surgical scars.
With the benefits of Vitamin E above, one would definitely have high expectations of Organic Aid Vitamin E Facial Foam, which contains 1000 I.U of Natural Vitamin E.
At the back of the tube, the product claims to be
1) Nourishing & gentle to the skin
2) Leaves your skin clean, silky soft & fresh after each wash
So I proceeded to squeeze just about ½ inch of foam into my hands, lathered it with water (just as what the instruction read). The thing is, this facial foam doesn't lather as much as the normal facial foam I've used thusfar, which is a good thing coz from my basic understanding, things (be it soap, shampoo or facial wash) that lather much ain't that good (anyone who has scientific reasons to back this up, feel free to drop a comment!) So anyways, with the facial foam lathered on the palm of my hand, I gave my good ol' face a couple of massaging stroke and then rinsed it off.
I must say that the scent is neutral, not too much perfumed (don’t you just hate it when they overdo with the fragrance bit?). It leaves my face feeling really fresh and clean. I love that this product is gentle to my skin and there was no traces of redness on my face (especially on my cheeks area). One has just got to love a gentle yet effective facial wash like this.
The best part I love bout this facial wash is that it is not drying to my skin. You see, I have really dehydrated skin and more often than not, when using other brands of facial wash, I have this drying effect that makes my skin dries and peels because its just too strong and strips away all the moisture. So, just to test this facial wash out, after my wash, I did not put any moisturizer on just to test the effect and guess what? My skin was not dry at all. Surprise, surprise!
Overall, I am definitely pleased with Organic Aid Vitamin E Facial Foam. It cleanses well and is gentle to my dehydrated skin, so retailing at only RM15.90 & being available at all major supermarts and pharmacies, I would definately repurchase Organic Aid Vitamin E Facial Foam!

.: Review : Rimmel London Max Bold Curves Mascara :.
Some of us are blessed with long flirtatious lashes.
Unfortunately, most of us (like myself) are not born that way!
I started with the first coat - then thought to myself, hmm.. doesn't look very much different from my original state. It was only when I applied a second layer where this mascara worked its magic. My barely-there lashes was immediately lengthen my lashes and what I also love was that it coats almost every single strand evenly to give it that sleek finish. No, it was not flaky and clumpy like how some other mascaras can be. The other plus point is that it dries very quickly (minimal smearing for a klutz like me) and it is relatively long lasting. And because it is not waterproof, it is easily removed with water (you need not use a make up remover).
However, in my honest opinion, the set back of this mascara is that it doesn't provide as much volume as I would like to my thin and sparse lashes. And also, without an eyelash curler, it barely seems to 'boldly lift' my lashes up, as how this product claim it would.
What others say:
I think this mascara is just awesome. I didn't even need to apply the second coat it gave me beautiful curvy lashes! Momal, Fragancia
I really like this one as it really "grabs" my lashes and pulls them out leaving them defined and separatedI don't think this volumised my lashes as much as I was expecting it to but it definitely made them look longer by curling them upwards - Lily, Lilylipstick
It has quite a dramtic claim that the mascara doesnt really live up to. Its not really bad but it just doesnt do a great deal for my lashes either - Jo, Playmouth Barbie
Verdict : To buy or not to buy?
I would recommend Rimmel London Max Bold Curves Mascara only for your daily/morning use, as it is easy to use and fuss-free. But if you are expecting a more dramatic and voluptuous lashes for your girls night out or on a romantic date, I suggest to use false lashes, or go for another product. Which just means that I will still be on a quest to search for the perfect mascara!
Available at :Watson’s Personal Care Store, Guardian Pharmacy, Parkson (Pavilion, 1 Utama, Sunway Pyramid, Sg. Wang, Klang Parade, Gurney Plaza, Terminal One Seremban, Square One Shopping Mall)
RSP : RM35.90

Snuffy, Sesame Street
Unfortunately, most of us (like myself) are not born that way!
Hence, the invention of the magical mascara, a make up applicator that darken or strengthen or lengthen or define or that is volumizing or any combination of the above one's eyelashes.*yip yip horray*
For me, it is most important that a mascara is first and foremost affordable (the accountant in me), easy to use (user friendly), does not clump or smear easily, does not flake and of course one that voluminize, define and lengthen my eyelashes!
I have been using two different brand of mascara, and somewhat, both was not really suited for me. So here I am still in search of that perfect mascara that will sweep-my-lashes-off-the-eyelid!
I was given the opportunity to test out :
THE MAX BOLD CURVES MASCARA by RIMMEL.
Be bold. Be beautiful, with lashes that boast exponential volume and lift … instantly!
Comes in a striking, eye-catching lime green tube, with bold pink words claiming "Big, bold lashes in a flash!", the packaging literally screams "Grab me now!"
What they say:
The proprietary formula, enriched with collagen and keratin is paired with Rimmel's most curvaceous brush ever. Together they take lashes to stunning new extremes of volume and curve. Lashes are BIG, fat, boldly lifted – and completely free of clumps, of course.
What I say:
At first I was a bit worried bout the unique shape of the brush, but then was amused at how the brush was shaped as such so that it could pick up and coat every single one of my lashes (including the ones at the corner that always gets left out the first time round whenever I apply mascara).

Longer & more defined lashes, but lacks volume &'lift'

.: Review : Montagne Jeunesse White Chocolate Masque :.
All you need is love. But a little chocolate now and then doesn't hurt. -Charles M Schulz, cartoonist for Peanuts
True indeed that it doesn't hurt at all to have a lil bit of chocolate now and then *lol*. May it be dark chocolate, milk chocolate or even white chocolate, mmmm... just the thought of it is making me crave for a slice of chocolate cake!
Well, there are those chocolate for eating, and then there are those that you slab on to your face
Yes, you read me right, a nice creamy chocolate face mask to smear all over your face.
The package is very attractive, especially those chocolate lovers who will be wondering what is a chocolate item doing on a beauty aisle. Definitely attention-grabbing!
When I open the package to take a whiff, the chocolatey scent was G - double-o - D GOOD!.[Note : There is a very explicit warning on the back of the mask packet; "looks and smells delicious, but please DON'T EAT!" So no matter how tempted you are, this creamy mud pack is NOT SAFE for consumption!]
The instruction says to apply the face mask on a clean face and leave it on for 15-20 minutes or so before rinsing it off.
So I started off with a freshly cleansed face, spread a dollop (about a generous 50 cents size) onto my palm, and start spreading it evenly across my face with my index finger & middle finger. [for those who are not used to using their bare fingers to apply, you may opt for a brush or whatever applicator that tickles your fancy!] I notice that there are still some leftovers in the packet, it's either I spread it too thin or it has generous portions so you can get like 3-4 use from one packet of mask!
I left in on for a whole good 20 minutes (while reading a nice novel) and when the alarm of my handphone rang, I went to rinse my face. The mask washes off pretty quick and well with water and there was no need for abrasive rubs to get rid of sticky bits and bobs here and there (which is good coz my skin can get really aggravated if I rub it too much). When I ran my fingers across my towel dried face, my skin did felt cleaner and smoother after the wash, but it was not as moisturizing as I would like it to be. But then again, rule of thumb is that mud/clay mask (like White Chocolate Ultra Deep Cleaning Masque) is for absorbing oil and impurities, whereas peel-off facial mask is for refreshing and rehydrating.
I took a before and after picture to compare, and realise that after one use, there isn't much difference really. But of course, you have my word that the skin does feel smoother and cleaner, and a lil bit more taut.
My verdict
Already a brownie point for it's chocolatey smell (still have some after wash chocolatey smell lingering on my face now *joys!*) Usually it's hard to gauge a long term effect of using a brand of mask after only one use, but I notice my skin smoother after one use. It's only retail price of RM5.90, hence definitely value for money (if the accountant says it VFM, it IS VFM!). Oh, and also it is animal friendly (not tested on animals or contain any bits of animals!) so good news to vegans! :) Don't expect miracles like smaller pores or extremely clean skin after, perhaps if I continue to use once a week (as the instruction at the back of the pack suggested) there would be a noticeable difference.
Should you be interested in purchasing this face mask, it is available at any pharmacies or beauty counters in shopping malls. Alternatively, you can check out their website here for more info.

.: Review : Playboy Fragrance :.
Playboy have been so successful with the men fragrance that they decided to launch a set of three for women, consisting of Play It Lovely, Play It Sexy & Play It Spicy back in 2010.
Play It Lovely
Perfect for daytime flirtation, Play It Lovely evokes a sweet and playful innocence that is guaranteed to enchant. This light, easy-to-wear fragrance opens with a mouth-watering blend of zesty citrus, ripe blackberry and juicy pear that uplifts and delights. The heart is built around an exquisite bouquet of cherry baby orchid, belle de nuit and tuberose, which exudes modern femininity. As the fragrance settles, the delicate floral notes give way to a warm and sensual base of amber, patchouli and tonka bean. Simply "lovely"?
Play It Sexy
A darker, more sultry scent, Play It Sexy is ideal for evening wear, for when you're all dressed up with somewhere to go. This sensual yet sophisticated fragrance opens with an invigorating rush of pink grapefruit and mandarin blended with a spicy hint of pink pepper before building to an exotic heart of jasmine teas, osmanthus and liquorice. The rich, seductive base notes of vanilla, patchouli, sandalwood and tonka bean complete the intoxicating experience.
Play It Spicy
A sparkling floriental, Play It Spicy is the sexiest and edgiest of the three fragrances, full of excitement and allure. This glamorous night-time scent opens with a vibrant burst of pomegranate, bellini cocktail and pink berries, evoking the dazzling spirit of a sensational party. At the heart, a luminous floral fusion of elegant tiger lily, passionflower and heliotrope seduces the senses. This gives way to the rich and mellow tones of amber, sandalwood and vanilla essence, creating a sensual signature that can't be ignored.
As I was given the opportunity to review one of the three fragrances above, I was excited when I received my Pos Express (soggy from the rain, but intact nonetheless) envelope. As I hastily tear open my parcel, like a child on her first Christmas day, I was all excited when I pull out this :

The unmistakable playboy bunny in a tuxedo bow tie logo
Guess which fragrant of the three I got?
Hint : Look carefully below!
Yup, I got Play It Lovely! As described, it is indeed a lovely, light refreshing scent once it touches my skin. One can detect the very delicate floral scent, that is not too strong and overpowering, but just enough to tease and linger in one's nose. And the hint of citrus, but that's only for the first few minutes before the floral scent completely takes over (or is it that the citrus scent completely disappears?) Either way, it is indeed perfect for daytime wear on a weekend or when your out doing grocery shopping and running errands, but I reckon that it's a tad bit too mild for officewear. Definitely not suitable as evening or night-time - you may want to try Play Is Sexy & Play It Spicy instead.
The only set back is that the fragrant can only last bout 3 hours max before the scent completely evaporates off. Not as strong and lasting as I expect a parfum deodorant to be, but for only RM16.90 for a 150ml bottle (the sample size I got is only 75ml), I reckon it is worth every single penny. A good alternative to the more expensive branded perfume, I must say!
