Penguin ~ Peace, Love, Snow

I'm here today with my Spotlight project for Kitty Bee Designs
I chose to work with this cute winter penguin.  He was colored with Copics and Prismacolor pencils.  Of course I added Stickles!  I used Spellbinder oval and oval scalloped dies, the tag is from MFT, mini heart by Lawn Fawn and the little cloud is an Impression Obsession die.   The sentiment is also from MFT.  The heart embossing folder is from Cuttlebug.

Come join us at Kitty Bee Designs Aloha Friday Challenges.  You still have 1 week to enter.

Boys Rock

Today I have a scrapbook page I made for my son.  I haven't made a scrapbook page in a few years!  The poor kid will be 6 and he now has 3 pages  LOL.  My daughter on the other hand has about 8 albums! This is my DT project for Kitty Bee Designs.  The theme this week is to Make Some Music so that means either listening to or making music. I used this cute I (heart) Sushi Panda image.  The original digi has an image of sushi under the I heart.  I asked Ruth , the owner of KBD, if I could crop the sushi and add a band name. Here is the original:

Here is what I did with him:

So in case you don't know FOB stands for Fall Out Boy who is my son's current obsession!  His big sister Shianne loves them so I'm sure that helps.

I used an SVG file from Miss Kate's Cuttables called Boys Rock.  The files are great and so cheap!  This was only $1.29 and she has daily freebies!  The star borders were a freebie at one time.  Love her stuff.

Subway art for my lovebug :)

I try to have someone in mind when I create my DT projects and it usually ends up being my daughter Shianne.  So...this weeks Anything Goes challenge at 613 Avenue Create has the optional twist to use Subway Art.  I really like subway art, it's fun.  I found a free program that let's you create your own called Wordle which is what I used on my project.  Bugaboo Stamps is one of our sponsors this week and I used the image called Bugaboo Brat Bugs.

Dies by MFT, Impression Obsession, Papertrey Ink.  The image was masked and the clouds were sprayed with Perfect Pearls. I did a little doodling along the edges. Black eyelets and a wire hanger were added at the top.

colored with Copics/Prismacolor pencils,
Glossy Accents on the Ladybugs and heart

I added the mini hearts with a stamp

If you would like to see more inspiration check out what the 613 Avenue Create DT have created and check out my PINTEREST - SUBWAY ART board.

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss...freebie!

Hi Everyone!

Our challenge this week at 613 Avenue Create is a tribute to Dr. Seuss whose birthday is March 2nd.

I've created some Dr. Seuss quotes in PNG format.  I've used one with an image from the Kidlettes 3 Bundle by Melonheadz Illustrations who is one of our sponsors this week.  This is a card I made for my daughter Shianne or "Shi" as I call her  :)

a close up of the microbeads which I adhered with Ranger's multi medium

To download PNG's just right click and choose save as

I hope you like the quotes and choose to join us at 613 Avenue Create for our Anything Goes challenge with the optional twist to use one of these quotes.  All I ask is a simple thank you if you do choose to download.

See ya next time!

Bella Sweet Tea

This is my second post today.  I'm here with a book mark I made for our challenge at 613 Avenue Create.   The challenge is Anything Goes but our optional twist is to create a RAK because February 17th is National RAK day!  In case you don't know a RAK is a Random Act of Kindness.  Just a little something to make someone's day maybe a little card for your favorite bank teller or a candy treat for the mailman, in my case I made a book mark for my elderly neighbor who loves to read  :)

We have a new sponsor this week
Etsy Shop
 visit Faery Ink Designs

I used the image Bell Sweet Tea. Colored with Copics and Prismacolor pencils, stamp by Mama Elephant - In My Heart set, dies by Spellbinders, MME paper, crinkle ribbon and a vintage WWII era button!

I bought a bag of misc. buttons at Savers (big chain thrift store) and these buttons were in the bag. On the card it's stamped "MADE IN OCCUPIED JAPAN".  Wow huh?  I hate to use them but I don't think they're really worth anything.  And I know my neighbor, who is 82, will appreciate the extra embellishment.

Well thanks for stopping by again!  I appreciate the company  ;)  Stop by  613 Avenue Create and see what the other ladies have created this week!  Oh and you can see the awesome RAK I received this week from Sara on the DT!!  She is such an incredibly talented artist!

I love you Shi

Well I'm back with another card for our challenge at 613 Avenue Create.  I'm using another image by my favorite artist Cheryl Grant Alger from Sassy Cheryl's Stamps.  Cheryl's images are also available at Squigglefly who is our sponsor this week.

This image is called Pondering Thoughts and this girl Sally reminds me of my daughter Shianne when she was little.  She was and still can be a tomboy at heart.  She's away at college now but I always send her cards with Sally.  I love her bare feet which I've made a little dirty  :)

I Love You SMORE!

Hi all!
Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season!  Today I have my DT project for the last challenge of 2013 at 613 Avenue Create.  I can't believe it's been a year since I started the weekly challenge blog with Chana and I'm so glad I did  :)  Our sponsor this week is Bugaboo Stamps and I've used the Old Snow Star digi for my project.

So here's the story behind the title/project.  Ever since my daughter, Shianne, was little she would say "I love you" and my reply would be "I love you more".  Well then that would turn into a playful argument of "No...I love YOU more" until one day IO told her not to argue with her mother  LOL!  She's 19 and we still say it and laugh.  I love that kid!  :)  So between that and the fact that she was a Girl Scout for 13 years she can't help bu love smores...hence the "I love you smore!" project.  I'll send it to her at school when she goes back next month.

I used a very versatile SVG file from My Scrap Chick called Caddy Essentials.  I used the #7 caddy, made two of them and glued together.  She has some incredible files and great prices too!  You should check it out.
Until next time!
Hugs,
Kathi

A witchingly wonderful Halloween

Hi again!  Finally, a Halloween card!  It's time for my DT project for Through The Craftroom Door.  Our sponsor this week is The Paper Shelter and I've used the Bewitched Night image.  She was colored with Copics, Prismacolor pencils/Gamsol and chalks!  Plus I stippled over the chalk background with Encore Metallic Purple ink.  The sentiment was a freebie (but can now be purchased in her store) from Create with TLC.  Dies by Spellbinders and MFT.
Well that's it for today!  Stop by the TTCRD challenge blog for some wonderful inspiration!  Also, the Fall issue of Through the Craftroom Door magazine is now available.  I have several projects in this issue, if you would like to purchase a subscription go HERE.

Thanks for stopping by!
