When the fabric speaks...

...I listen.

The bulk of my stash has been mute for way too long, and it's piling up. So when a package of batik strips piped up (Tonga Coffee Cake) and offered itself as a sacrifice to a plus pattern, I didn't have much choice but to pay attention and get stitching.

Positive Thinking, 60" x 44"

It wasn't until I hung it up that I realized how perfect the colors are for my living room, so it's a shame that I won't be keeping it.

Then again, this one doesn't have to be quilted for a while, so I have a few months to reconsider...or make something else. Maybe I should go back to the stash and see if I hear anything?

the cream braised brussels sprouts were A-MAZING. i owe that to your inspiration all those years ago from when we worked at that one company together.

and that's a beautiful quilt.

I love those colors. I think you should leave it hanging there and let it tell you how it wants to be quilted. Hopefully that won't be for a couple of months!

It looks fabulous, I think you should go back to your stash and hear what else is calling you, and keep this one for you.

I like your talent as a stash whisperer.... That's my ambition, too, doing more sewing from stash. These batiks are one of the prettiest plus pattern quilt tops I've seen. I would definitely reconsider...

I say - if it looks like it belongs on YOUR wall, it probably does! You've got time - maybe something else in your stash is just being shy. Go and listen harder!

This is fabulous - I love these beach-y colors and the subtle play of the colors together. Marvelous!

Okay, I just found out that two of my co-workers who are very positive and spiritual folks are engaged. I definitely wanto make this. . . my question is will a jelly roll or bali pops be enough to make it or should I find coordinating fabrics in my stash to support the precuts?
