This year, I wanted to create some new traditions with our family feast. So, I asked Mom to help me design some Pilgrim hats that we could wear proudly on Thanksgiving day. She made the hats and I designed the huge buckles...very stylin'. Stephen and I made a Mayflower ship out of a paper milk carton and everyone at the table was asked to write something they were grateful for and put it in the ship. During dinner, I read the thankful notes and we got to guess who wrote them. We had some good laughs...especially over the one Dad put in the ship. "I am thankful for a hot woman and cold nights." No wonder they sleep with their window open. We always knew Mom was hot stuff. : )
We had a wonderful feast, fun playtime in the snow with Stephen and an enjoyable epidsode of Polar Express. What a wonderful movie about believing. Can you hear the bell?
Bethanie and I went skiing today around the yard. It was the perfect temperature...32°. The first time we went out, we took Stephen with us and I pulled him with a sled roped around my waist as I was skiing. It worked pretty well and he loved the ride. The second time we went out, Stephen was napping and so we took off on a few hills. I had great fun hooting and hollering as I shouted "whoo hoo" all the way down. I love the great outdoors. We live in a beautiful winter wonderland for which I am so thankful.
Have you counted your blessings today?
love,
Kary

Happy Holidays!! It is really starting, isn't it! Sounds like your Thanksgiving was great! I love the pilgram ship/giving thanks idea! Everyone looks so festive in their hats!
Thanks for the reminder to give thanks and to think about our blessings daily. Having a heart full of gratitude can certainly lighten the burdens of this life. We are so blessed these days!
I almost envy you the snow. I love snow and love those huge snow storms that cover the world! I would really love to go skiing! We are definately finding a place to x-country this year!
As much as I miss the snow, I wouldn't trade it for the magnificent Autumn we had! There is something truly awe-inspiring about watching the earth shed it's summer splendor and cover itself with it's colorful blanket. You can almost see it snuggling down into it's warmth to wait out the winter when it will slowly emerge in all it's sunshiny splendor!
Lots of love!
