K's Special Fridays #25 - Cat's Eyes

Hello
I was so surprised to find one of my last creation while going through my new polishes. I had mixed it a long time ago so I don't remember the exact recipe, but it's globally a mix of green, black, and spectraflair pigment. It is opaque in 3 coats and pictures show it with one coat of Seche vite on top. Cat's Eyes (named after the manga) is a dusty hunter green linear holo. Hope you like it!

Bonjour

K's Special Fridays #23 - I'm a Princess & Pinky Promise

TGIF!
I got two special polishes to show you today but there's one I'm not very fond of so we are going to start with it. I'm A Princess (yep I didn't have any inspiration lol) is a purple to silver duochrome with holo glitter. I just don't like it because it is very sheer even after 4 coats (below). On the opposite, Pinky Promise is opaque in two coats :) Let me know what you think about it and see you next Friday.

Enfin Vendredi!

K's Special Fridays #22 - You Blue My Mind & Green With Envy

Wassup ladies,
Today I have for you two special polishes that I created some time ago but didn't get to try until now. You Blue My Mind is a dark blue holo polish and was inspired by my boyfriend (blue is his fav color) and I made Green With Envy just because there are not enough green holos so I wanted a unique one (just as Dusty Hunt and Mojito). Hope you like it and let me know your favorite! Pictures show 2 coats of You Blue My Mind and 3 coats of Green With Envy with top coat. Thank you!
Merci!

Wow lovelies I missed you!
I know it's been a long time since I talked to you but time with family and friends has kept me from blogging, For this holiday season, I wish you moments full of joy, happiness, sharing, and giving with your loved ones. The polish I have on my nails is another creation of mine and inspired by my favorite holiday movie, Love Actually. It is a reddish pink linear holo and the following pics show 2 coats of it with top coat.

K's Special Fridays #19 - Dusty Hunt

Hello!
Let me present to you Dusty Hunt, my favorite holo creation! I named it after my constant search for a good green holo. I wanted a good dark green, I'm so proud of it. It has so much depht, and it's opaque in two coats. I used half suspension base with Nubar Greener, a couple of drops of OPI Yoga Ta Get This Blue and black, then added 4 straw scoops of spectraflair. Let me know what you think about this one :)

K's Special Fridays #18 - Violetta

Good morning!
We continue with another polish made out of this magic pigment that is spectraflair. The first time I received it, I went overboard and made 16 holo polishes. As I told you before I don't remember the recipes of these so I'll go directly to the basics. Violetta is a blurple linear holo, opaque in two coats. I mixed blue with purple, few drops of black to darken it, then added the suspension base and 4 straw scoops of spectraflair.

K's Special Fridays #17 - Pour Me Some & Mojito

Hello holo aficionados!
I'm showing you two creations today because their names go well together. Both of them were made to satisfy the need to have some holo colors that I did not have already. I'm super proud of them. On to the pics!

Pour Me Some is a sparkly burgundy linear holo. I mixed Illasmaqua Scarab and a NYC fuchsia polish in a clear suspension base, then added 4 straw scoops of spectraflair. This is two coats without top coat.

K's Special Fridays #16 - In My Skinny Jeans

The story is simple. I wanted to dupe OPI DS Glamour and failed to my original goal (and to others as you will see in future posts lol) but I still like the result. In My Skinny Jeans is a light blue denim holo (the name tells it all). It covered nicely in two coats and I didn't add any top coat. I don't remember the recipe as I mixed almost every blue in my stash but give it a try and have fun!

K's Special Fridays #15 - Don't Blush

Hello!
TGIF! It's almost the week end and it's time for another franken post! This pretty and the ones I will show you during the following weeks were created way before I did the birthday club collection. I do apologize in advance because I do not have the exact recipes of all of them but I'll do my best to direct you the right way if you want to recreate it :) Don't Blush is a nude with pink undertones holographic polish. I was aiming for a more brownish tone but I guess I added too much holo pigment :) which I don't regret at all.
Name: Don't Blush
Recipe for a 15ml bottle = 1/4Brown + 1/4Dusty Pink + 2/4TKB suspension base + 4 straw scoops of spectraflair 35
All swatches are two coats of Don't Blush without top coat

K's Special Fridays #14 - Magic Potion

Hello again!
It's been a time since the last K Special Friday so I'm back with a franken that really came out of nowhere. I had some franken in round bottles and wanted them to be in my signature square bottle so it started from there. I just poured the extras into another bottle and Voila! We have Magic Potion. It was born from the mix of RoseCandy ExplosionHollywood Glam I, and Midnight Party. It is a squishy magenta jelly with round holo and small glitter. This is two coats with one coat of Seche vite. Love it!

K's Special Fridays #13 - Moon Dust pigments remixed

Hello franken aficionados!
This is a follow up of my Moon Dust post from two weeks ago. I added spectraflair and drops of black polish to those pigments and there you go from top coats to multichrome holographics! I didn't make them at the same moment so they are all different, some are more holos, others are too dark because I added too much drops of black. I would advise to go with 5 drops of black and mix it with a clear suspension base, followed by 3 straw scoops of the pigment, then 3 other straw scoops of spectraflair. It gives you room for error. I wasn't feeling like removing my mani, so I swatched them on a nail wheel. What you will see is two coats without top coat.

1. Luna Blue SF (shifts from cyan, blue to purple with holo finish)
2. Aisha Gold SF (shifts from gold, green to blue with holo finish)
3. Crescent Crimson SF (shifts from copper tones to purple)
4. Indu Rose SF (shifts from indigo, purple, copper with holo finish)
5. Lavender Luz (shifts from copper, purple to blue with holo finish)

K's Special Fridays #12 - Candy Explosion

Hello!
I'm back at experimenting! The polish I created is called Candy Explosion. It is a pink jelly holographic with round holo glitter. I love the mix and how discreet the holo is so much that whenever I have a free time, I will do a clear glitter/holo top coat that I can layer over different colors. Let me know what you think about this one, it was really easy to do. I used two coats without top coat.

K's Special Fridays #11 - Moon Dust pigments

Hello lovelies!
I have another cool pigment collection from TKB Trading that is so great for frankening multichromes! The Moon Dust collection is comprised of five color shifting pigments. It is also made with smaller particle sizes than the Star Bites that I reviewed last week, so it has a smoother finish. I mixed half Wet N Wild Clear + Luster base + 4 straw scoops of each pigment to create those beautiful top coats. All swatches show two coats of each polish layered over Wet N Wild Black, without top coat. The following color shifting descriptions were taken from TKB's website. Let's see!

K's Special Fridays #10 - Mauve There!

Hello!
I love pastels, but sometimes find them too light against my skin tone. I had an old purple pastel and wanted to darken it so I added a couple drops of Wet N Wild Black to it. I like it better this way and I think it suits me well. It's a mauve creme that I'll be rocking a lot on my toes this summer. I can't to try a gradient with it :) On to the pics!
All swatches are 2 coats of Mauve There! without top coat

ASBMF #13: The Paper Gal

Hello again !
Newspaper nails have been in my to-do list for ever but I thought it would be difficult in practice. Actually, it's super easy and so fun! I wanted a grey base but didn't have one, so I decided to franken one by mixing Wet N Wild white and black polishes. Here is Retro Pop, at two coats and without top coat.

K's Special Fridays #8 - Star Bites

Good afternoon lovelies!
Today's frankens were made out of raw materials that I bought on TKB Trading, the go to place for any indie polish maker. I was interested in the Star Bites collection after seeing it on More Nail Polish blog. I caved in and ordered a sample of Shanika Sun, Marinda Star, and Cherika Moon in order to make some cool color morphing top coats. According to TKB, the Star Bites are "extra bright, small glittery iridescent color additives which appear as a white, semi-irridescent powder until rubbed on the skin, or set against a dark color."
I love them! They have a multichrome glassfleck finish and the color shift is so strong.
The following recipe is for a 15 ml bottle: Luster base (you can get it from TKB) + 8 straw scoops of each pigment. I made them super pigmented so you might want to use less. All swatches show two coats of each polish over Sation Black, without top coat.

K's Special Fridays #6 - Super Green

Who is your favorite Superhero/heroine? Lol mine is actually a supervillainess , Poison Ivy from the Batman comics (and movies) series. I was watching The Dark Knight this week and had the idea to create a polish inspired by Poison Ivy. I called it Super Green because it is coming from the best green in my stash (Nubar Greener), so it will always come to my rescue when I need it lol. It is a forest green jelly packed with holo glitter and fine green glitter powder. Short talk, on to the pics!
All swatches show two coats of Super Green and one coat of Seche vite

K's Special Fridays #5 - Rose

Hello!

As most of you in the US must know (or not?), the acclaimed movie Titanic has been released last week in theaters and I am going to watch it today! Titanic is the first movie that I saw more than three times and cried every time (second is the Notebook, yes yes). Moving story, great actors, and that Celine Dion song! I cannot wait to see it and experience it in 3D :-)
I decided to create a polish for the occasion and named it Rose, after the main female character in the movie. Rose is a pastel pink jelly with holographic glitter and small blue, red, and pink glitter. I love how the glitter combination contrasts against the pastel. Equal to the "real" Rose who had to behave like a lady (ladies do not spit <-- reference to the movie) but still had so much fire in her! I hope you like it.
All swatches show two coats of Rose and one coat of Seche vite

K's Special Fridays #4 - Crying Doll

Morning peeps!
I am proud to present to you Crying Doll, one franken that I created for a friend. I liked it so much that I made a double for myself. Crying Doll is a strawberry red jelly with holographic glitter and fine red glitter. The name refers to my friend and her fear of Chucky the doll lol. There is still some VNL (Visible Nail Line) after two coats but I don't mind, so on to the pics!

Name: Crying Doll
Recipe: Maybelline Red Comet + Revlon Red + Wet N Wild Kaleidoscope + fine red nail art glitter
