The MIM challenge for this week: stamp and stitch on die-cuts. (This definitely took longer than the 10-minute craft dash from yesterday *wink*)
I cut my own sunburst pattern out of different patterned papers, and stitched each one on the machine. If you didn't believe me that I'm no sewing expert, go ahead and click on the picture to take a closer look. Oh yeah, there are the not-so-cute-but-pretend-it's-just-the-homespun-look edges. Hee.
Once the papers were in place, I die-cut a 1 and 3/4 inch circle and a coordinating medallion for the back (in kraft paper, but it looks mauve to me in the pictures... oh well.)
I stamped the circle frame from one of the "Tag its" sets, and stitched around the inside of that frame with yellow embroidery thread.
To finish off the card, I die-cut 5 butterflies (from the "love lives here" die collection) and stitched them together in the same yellow thread.
The "smile" sentiment is from Precious Remembrance.
Thanks for peeking!

CAS-ual fridays - egg hunt.
We've known each other awhile, right?
So let's not pretend.
I had the best intentions for my kids' easter baskets, but the truth is, the hubs and I threw chocolate eggs around the house and had a coffee while they hunted. They asked me what to put their eggs in and I handed them a mason jar.... I have 3 kids... and they got 1 mason jar.
sigh.
At least it had a cute tag on it, even though Thomas took issue with the pink...
This tag is a united-colors-of-benetton-3-stamp-company-mash-up: The circle frame and greeting are from PTI, the pattern at the bottom is from clear&simple stamps, and the bunny image is from lawn fawn (I cut off the "winter bunny" scarf).
Oh, and the ribbon is from Stampin' Up.
I'm entering it into the lastest CAS-ual Fridays challenge: things you'd find inside an easter basket...

MIM #39 - multi-stamp-background
Using different stamps, in different sizes, you can create your own background papers.
I custom-made the floral background paper, using the following steps:
step 1: stamp rows of the circle border (from "tag its #2")
step 2: stamp the flower inside each circle (from "in bloom")
step 3: fill in the gaps with the tiny circle image (from "fly away") - I just noticed that I missed to stamp one area! Can you spot it? ha ha. I'll go back and stamp the live card :)
The colors I used (crumb cake, baja breeze, and very vanilla - all SU) fit in with this week's Play date cafe challenge. I'm sliding my card under the door, so to speak. I think there are only a few more hours of play on that one.
Thanks for looking!

CAS-ual Fridays - just add color!
Adding color to stamped images, for the new CAS-ual Friday challenge.
I stamped the acorns from paper smooches' "falling for you" and colored them in with copic markers.
The circle frame around each acorn is from a PTI "tag its" set.

PTI blog hop: fabric pumpkins.
From this:
to this:
Would you believe in all of my stamp collection, this was the only pumpkin image I could find? I guess I really don't make fall & halloween-type cards very often... *shaking head*
Apart from the chocolate brown card base and the chartreuse felt, everything else started out as a piece of white cardstock. I also pulled a bit of blue from the inspiration photo background - the bobbin thread I chose for my zig zag stitch is light blue...
thanks for looking!
