South of the Equator!

Hello Dear Friends!

I am writing to you while listening to a beautiful cacophony of highland birds and looking out over big yellow hibiscus flowers to a lush green valley and hills beyond.

Yes, we are in Ecuador in the gorgeous valley of Vilcabamba!

Our decision to come was both a long time coming and very swift. Long time coming as in we've been wanting to come down for a visit ever since a friend of ours told us he was buying land down here in late 2007, and very swift as in deciding to come one week and flying down here the next!

We had everything in storage accept what we needed for daily living, we didn't have a lease or mortgage to maintain, we have very good friends who live here and who just happened to have a guest house where we could stay while we got situated, we were set! All that was left was to buy a ticket, and so we went for it.

Just half a week after arriving here, we moved into a beautiful little house tucked into a garden, right next door to our dear friends and are feeling very blessed to be here.

But, phew, what a ride the past year has been! We have been on a whirlwind tour of free-style daydreaming and the pursuit of so many different possibilities it makes my head spin! Little Sophia, who is not even two yet, has already lived in 5 different houses (if you count our tent-home of last summer as a house!) and David and I have toyed with the idea of at least 10 more. You would think we were out to break a record! Now we are off on yet another adventure.

We are here until mid-September at the earliest, gently exploring and staying open to where life will take us.

Each day it feels easier and easier to be here, the sharpness of so suddenly adjusting to a new place is slowly wearing off as we build community and explore the land surrounding us.

I'll leave you with a few pictures, and for more you can always check out our Flickr site!

Baby Rain Dancing in the Rain.

Oh, and I had the most crazy amazing juice yesterday morning. For the first time in my life I tried Passion Fruit Juice, squeezed by my love David (click on the link for health benefits of this juice!) If you really want to try a high voltage juice, this one is for you, bring on the passionate juice baby!

Sending love that you are all well and juicy,

Global Juice Feasty Day 42!

I Love Cozy Corners!
Juice Feast Day 42

The Daily Juice Journal:

This morning we made 5 quarts of GVJ with the usual stuff (and with celery!! Yum yum) Cucumber, celery, romaine, spinach, kale, cilantro, parsley, carrot, yam, and ginger. We also made four quarts of orange, and pineapple and two quarts of grapefruit garlic. Could you say “creatures of habit?”

DAVID:

2 QUARTS GVJ, 3 QUARTS FRUIT.

TOTAL JUICE: 5 QUARTS

KATRINA:

3 QUARTS GVJ, 3 QUARTS FRUIT

TOTAL JUICE: 6 QUARTS JUICE

Added to juices: Spirulina, hemp oil, Flax/DHA oil, kelp granules, Pure Synergy, bee pollen, and maca

Also taken: Vitalzym, Break Stone Tea, coconut oil and water.

Personal Journal:

A day of house cleaning today. While we were in Tucson yesterday we picked up some beautiful pillows for our cozy corner making project. We decided that a futon on the floor with an abundance of pillows suited our little bedroom much better than a couch, as well as being cheaper, not filling our bedroom with a big toxic hunk of foam that will off-gas for years to come, and feeling much more lounge-y and groovy. We also got some more bookshelves for our bedroom because we outgrew what shelf space we had a while ago and there were books EVERYWHERE!! So we spent a good part of yesterday setting up our new house, re-organizing the library, cleaning, dusting, vacuuming, and making wonderful living space improvements. Our home now feels EVEN BETTER!! A good spring cleaning and a little love go a long way for the home cleanse part of a Juice Feast.

We also had a wonderful afternoon visit from Mike Adams and his lovely wife Shea. Mike did an interview with David for his new radio show, which I will post the link for as soon as it is up, and David was able to get an interview from Mike about his experience with juicing. We will be adding that to one of our daily videos soon. FYI we have been filming almost everyday, but have fallen behind on the editing of the daily videos so keep your eyes open for the next installments on Global Juice Feast!! Hopefully by tomorrow we should have a new one up.

C’est tout mon cheri!!

See you on Day 43!

Hug hug, kiss kiss,

Katrina and David

New "Juice Feasting" Emerging as Phytonutrient-Rich Disease-Fighting Nutritional System

Leap for Joy!

Hooray! We are so excited that our friend Mike Adams loves Juice Feasting as much as we do!

Check out what he has to say about it here:

And be sure to listen to his podcast about his experience with the magic of juice. We are just listening to it right now and it is fantastic, entertaining, and very, very smart if we may say so.
Get really excited people, juice is gonna soak the place, and oh what a delicious, sticky, HEALTHY, yummy cup of bliss we will all be in together then!
OK, after another long day in Tucson, it is cuddle time. It has been snowing intermittently all day, yes, even Southern Arizona gets snow!
Juicy Love,
Katrina Rain.
