Soccer 2010

Zach really enjoyed soccer this fall. All the boys on the team (we didn't have any girls this year) were his friends, so he had a blast. He wasn't very competitive, but he chased the ball down like a champ and he messed around with his friends constantly. It was great.

The games were so fun because the kids stayed in a clump around the ball most of the time. They all tried to kick it, even if they were all the way in the back of the group (that's why shin guards are required).

Coach Ty did a great job with those boys. It wasn't an easy job trying to keep 12 4 year olds focused on the ball when only 2 or 3 of them had any experience playing competitive soccer/sports. A big part of his job was trying to keep Zach focused on the ball instead of his friends. That was what soccer was all about to Zach, playtime with his buddies. They all did a great job and had fun, which is what it's all about, right? He's excited to play again.

They look so tiny in those big shirts! How fun that your kids are old enough to play sports. So cute.
