1 down, 1 to go

Hooray for JR who graduated yesterday!!!  It's been a busy busy two years for him but he finally gets to rest from all of his labors (at least until August when he starts his second masters degree).  I'm so proud of all that JR has accomplished this year and am so thankful for his ambition and all he does to assure our family will be taken care of.  He graduated with honors because, well, he is so smart!
JR's Mom, Step dad, Dad, Step mom and his niece all came from AZ to celebrate.  We are so happy they were able to make it and we had a good time with them while they were here.

JR with the other Sport Psychology graduates and his professors:

JR didn't really want to go to commencement but I kind of pressured him into agreeing to going but after sitting through his 2 hour hooding ceremony I gave him the ok to skip it if he wanted to he opted out of commencement but the hooding ceremony was really neat to watch. I tried to capture JR on the big screen as he was being hooded and got a pretty bad picture of him and apparently some other guy (JR is on the right).
I threw JR a little graduation party and by party I mean balloons, a pie, and a present.  Wasn't much of a party to tell you the truth.
While we were in the bookstore the day before graduation ABC news was in there and asked to interview JR. He so didn't want to do it but they were really pressuring him (as was his dad) so he gave in. This year marked the 100th graduating class from Fresno State. JR didnt' really care much about being the 100th class so when they asked him how he felt about it he was caught off guard a little and he told me he had said something along the lines of "Well, I haven't really thought much about it but I guess it's pretty cool to be a part of it" Well funny thing is, out of everything they asked him that is the one thing they broadcast but they totally spliced it to sound like how they wanted it. News people! You can see famous JR here.
So there you have it, JR is now a "Master" of Sport Psychology so if anyone needs a sport psychology consultant, you know who to go to.

Not exactly

Today I meandered in to Famous Footwear.  Upon checking out all of the shoes I found this little number:

To me, these flip flops are wonderful because they are comfortable and yet have diamonds, and who can go wrong with diamonds, really?  I happened to notice that every other shoe on the same row was on sale but these were not marked down.  So, in hopes of a mis-mark I asked the guy at the counter if these were on sale too.  His response?  No but those ones at the end of the isle are.  After seeing that I was looking at diamond studded flip flops and with all of the other flip flops in the store he try's to sell me on these beauts:
Huh? What am I missing here?  Do these seem to be in the same category to you? Sure they are both flip flops. Sure they are both black but...come on!  Know your audience man, know your audience.  Needless to say I opted to NOT buy the Nike's. Although I'm sure they would have come in handy if I decided to become a female golfer.

Remodel

What do you guys think?  Do you like what I've done with the place?

I think I've mentioned this before but every week JR and I have a date night and we take turns every week planning.  We also usually keep what our plans are a secret from each other so you never know what you're gonna get.  Well last night this is what I got.  He had me locked away in our room for a bit and when he brought me out our house had a tent in it.  He set it up like that in front of the TV, put our love seat inside and we had a movie night. He said watching a movie at home is not very exciting so he wanted to make it more exciting.   Mission accomplished, I definitely wasn't expecting a tent in my living room.  I knew we'd get use out of that tent one of these days! What a creative little goof ball I have.  I definitely lucked out in the thoughtful husband category!

Speaking of spring time (or not), can I just say that I have been thoroughly enjoying the weather here in Fresno?  Not working until 3 pm has allowed me to take advantage of the daylight and I LOVE IT.  I worked during daylight hours for 6 years and I had forgotten how lovely the world is.  I've been going on walks around my neighborhood lately and the blooming trees + sunshine + nice breeze = this post is getting cheesy.  To make my walks even more cheesy, I have even been seeing baby ducks.  All I need now are some fuzzy bunny's playing with white kittens in a field of wild flowers.  But really, I love it so much and I'm going to miss the "green" that I have here in Fresno when I move back to AZ.  I use quotes around "green" because in comparison to many parts of the world Fresno would not be considered green and beautiful but in comparison to Arizona I might as well be in the rain forest.
