The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

It's the most wonderful time of the year and not just because it's Christmas time. This year it's so much more than Christmas. The past 3 weeks have been some of the best I've had in a long time. So much going on! 3 weeks ago I had my mom and sisters come and visit. I really miss them a lot. I miss just being able to go over to their house whenever I want and to have girls nights. Having them take time out of their extremely busy lives and leave their families for a few days meant the world to me and I feel so loved! It was just a short trip and it made me homesick like crazy but it made me so happy. We shopped, we ate, we got massages from my sister Lyndee who started massage therapy school about a month ago, we went to church and where most of this may not seem very exciting to the common eye it's what makes me the happiest! I probably would have been content just sitting around the house with them.

The following Friday after they had left I came home from work looking forward to my date night with JR and SURPRISE, our great friends the Carpenters showed up at our door from AZ. Turns out JR had been planning this with them for about a month. I really had NO idea and it was such an amazing surprise. 2 weeks in a row of some of my favorite people coming to visit made me just plain giddy. It was so much fun to have the Carpenters in our home with their two lil' ones. Have I mentioned how much I miss being around kids living here? Well I do. Although we didn't have anything too eventful planned for them it was so much fun to just laugh and joke and get caught up. Thank you Derek and Kellyn, you'll never know how much it meant to me to have you come.

So we had those 2 phenomenal weekends, then this weekend was Thanksgiving and our friends in our ward invited us to their families house for dinner. It sure beat cooking for 7 hours like last year! And it was nice to have some company to share Thanksgiving with (not that I don't enjoy it when it's just JR and I...). And you can't beat a 4 day weekend! Next weekend I have Friday off because we are meeting 2 of my sisters and their families at DISNEYLAND!!! Can November and December get any better? I submit to you that amazingly enough it can! 2 weeks after Disneyland we get to go home from Dec 17th all the way until Jan. 1st! I just can't wait! Have I mentioned how blessed I am? And now you know the REAL reason why this is the most wonderful time of the year!
