So this is a bittersweet post. Right now my mom is home in hospice care.  I came across this picture of her in one of her picture boxes. Originally I was going to do a lyout  of her beautiful magnolia trees. But when I saw this picture I knew I had to use it! She is a beautiful, amazing woman whom I am proud to call Mom.

My niece was visiting her mom and dad in Florida and having a great time. And yes, my sister really does have a mermaid painted as the background to her hot tub! When I saw the picture I just knew I had to use this digi for a layout.

Thankful Thursday

Today I am thankful for my faith. It's been a tough 1-1/2 months with my mom being in the hospital, going to rehab for physical therapy, then back to the hospital...and she is still there. But she is 88 years young and has bounced back from worse! So we are still optimistic that God has more mischeif for her to get into in this life.

Tasty Tuesday

Sorry I haven't been around for Tasty Tuesdays! But I am back...cause I have still been eating...lol!

Here is super fast but tasty dish I made the other night. I used a little of Wildtree's Sweet Onion Dressing over chicken and sprinkled some cheddar cheese on it. The onion dresssing is just the right combo of onion and sweetness...so tasty!It's great for those nights you don't have time to plan or are just exhausted from the day and want something easy, tasty, and homemade!

Fun~day Friday #134 - Color Challenge

Our team this week is Team A. Our sponsor this week is Little Blue Button Stamps. and our theme is a color challenge; red, black and tan!

The challenge starts Friday, April 15th at 12:00 AM (eastern time) and ends Friday, April 22nd at 6:00 PM (eastern time). And here is what I created using Supergirl Avery.

Ever have a project that just didn't come out at all like you planned? Well this is one of those for me...lol! I have some beautiful tan, black and red paper (from many, many years ago!) and I didn't use the patterned sheets I was planning to. The ABCs were just too busy with the patterns no matter how I laid it out, so I used the "calmer" patterned paper from it. There is a sheet to match every pattern on those ABCs. But I am still happy with how it turned out and I will be putting this in my album about me. I've learned I can't do it all and I am very ok with that! I give it my best, don't stress and it all works out so much better!

Thankful Thursday

There are so many things I am thankful for. This week it's my comfy bed...again the simple pleasures. But my mom has been in the hospital lately and I have spent many hours at night in different hospital chairs trying to catch a few winks. And when I got home the other morning and laid in my bed I felt like I was in my own piece of heaven!

Simply Saturday

Well I can't believe that we are expecting a dusting of snow today...totally crazy!! This is the first time I am posting from my ipad so here's to hoping it all works well and I am not technically challenged...lol!

I decided to bring my Paper Pumpkin kit with me to complete while sitting in the hospital with my mom. Paper Pumpkin makes is so simple to create something so cute so quickly!

The box has everything needed. And yes, it is a January kit! It makes a really cute calendar with an easel. I completed it in no time, all 12 months.

I think I will place this on my desk when I get home. And I think I will use the months as embellishments in my scrapbook pages for this year.

This was the perfect digi for me. We have a bird that comes to nest every year in this bush and each morning my mom is awoken to the bird singing...which couldn't make her happier! It really is about the simple pleasures in life. This one is going into my mom's scrapbook. She likes a simple layout that just accents the photo. I used my SU colored pencils and the reitred Clementine paper from CTMH.

Thankful Thursday

I am reading a book, One Thousand Gifts: A Dare to Live Fully Right Where You Are by Ann Voskamp. I am a slow reader so I won't say how long I've been reading it...lol! The book is about enjoying and finding the everyday blessings. By finding your gratitude it will change your life. She was challenged to write a list of what she is thankful for. So I am going to do the same.

1. A hot shower

I know that seems simple...but I just love my hot shower each and every morning. If I had to choose between my shower and coffee...I would take the shower! Each Thursday I will post something I am thankful for. It may not be a big thing, but I believe life is about the little moments.

Sorry I am running late this week...life has definitely gotten in the way of my crafting!  Our sponsor this week is Little Blue Button Stamps and our theme is a 321 Challenge! Use 3 colors, 2 embellishments and 1 technique - how fun is that!

The challenge starts Friday, April 1st at 12:00 AM (eastern time) and ends Friday, April 8th at 6:00 PM (eastern time). Here's what I created using LBBS's Ragdoll Sweetheart in Boots.

My colors are red, purple and gray. My technique is "erasing" the color with the COPICs colorless blender and making the polka dots in her top and the lines in her leggins. And yes, I love wearing boots...and plan to add a collage of pictures of my boots to the page. Unfortunately I don't own that many now as I recently developed an allergy to something in shoes and am limited in what I can wear...crazy huh!
