Thankful Thursday

This week, continuing with the dental work, I am thankful I have found an amazing dentist locally! I am having a few implants put in to replace crowns and a bridge from when I was young and the front is complete. (My brother and I thought it was a good idea to race through the woods in the dark...thus the need for new front teeth..but that's a story for another day!) My dentist is a perfectionist in his work and the teeth look amazing, very real. You can't tell at all that they are implants.

And this week I am thankful for whoever invented Novocain! I've needed a lot of dental work recently so have spent a lot of time just leaning back with my mouth open and been able to do a lot of thinking...lol! And I couldn't imagine having to go through any of that without the Novocain!

I know this will sound crazy to some...but I am so thankful for a good vacuum! My little Jemma loves her sticks and will sneak them into the house whenever she can and leave a shredded mess! She has learned "stick outside" so she knows she has to sneak them in now. She brought this in when I was taking a shower earlier this week...this mess also required a good broom first...lol!

Our office is moving across the street into out new building...and out of the flood zone! I am very thankful for the guys who came and moved the boxes and desks and shelves and filing cabinets yesterday.  If I had to do all that...I would still be there...lol!

To build upon last week...I am thankful for hot water! When my hot water heater went, I had to go a few days without hot water. I have some wonderful friends who offered up a hot shower...thank you soooo much!!! But I really missed the hot water for the little things...like cleaning around the house, doing dishes, and washing my hands. Who would have thought I would miss being able to clean...lol!

Thankful Thursday

So I had my plumber out to fix my outside faucet leak and we discovered that my hot water heater was leaking. Fortunately we caught it early enough that it did not flood my garage. The people I bought the house from kept amazing records on everything...except the hot water heateer! So my plumber tracked down the warranty through the manfacturer and found out the warranty expires in August. So yea me...a new hot water heater is still covered under the warranty even though I can't prove a thing! I do have to pay for code upgrades, but I would need to do that either way. I am very grateful my plumber took the extra step to track the info down for me to get the costs covered.

Well the a/c went down at work yesterday...so today I am thankful for air conditioning. I work on the 2nd floor and luckily we are able to open windows and have blinds to close when the sun started to shine in. I also keep a small fan at my desk so I was able get some air circulation. And all I could think of was I grew up here without a/c and survived just fine...boy have I gotten spoiled...lol!

I am reading a book, One Thousand Gifts: A Dare to Live Fully Right Where You Are by Ann Voskamp. I am a slow reader so I won't say how long I've been reading it...lol! The book is about enjoying and finding the everyday blessings. By finding your gratitude it will change your life. She was challenged to write a list of what she is thankful for. So I am going to do the same.

1. A hot shower

I know that seems simple...but I just love my hot shower each and every morning. If I had to choose between my shower and coffee...I would take the shower! Each Thursday I will post something I am thankful for. It may not be a big thing, but I believe life is about the little moments.
