The Pursuit Of Happyness
I'm surprised that this is a 2006 movie while i have just seen its trailer online, after browsing on movies to come before Spiderman 3 & Harry Potter. Maybe because of the Metro Manila Film Festival last December.
Anyway, upon seeing the trailer of this movie (title of this blog entry), i know i would want to see this film. First, its plot is one of the dramatic story outlines that i like; second, Will Smith is the top biller in the movie, and his son in real life Jaden Smith co-stars in the film. I have learned to like the roles played by Will Smith after seeing him in a supporting role in my all-time favorite movie Independence Day, and leading the role in his movie, Hitch.
Another thing that caught my attention was the misspelling of the word "happiness" in the title. some of the movie's trivia (check link in entry title) provide the answer:
"Why is "happiness" spelled wrong in the title?
It was the misspelled name of the son's daycare. Will Smith's character refers to it several times during the movie, one of which was right before he and his son share their nicknames and the meanings of those nicknames. Also, the name is painted on the front window of the daycare and can be clearly seen at times."
This movie is said to be inspired by a true story. i guess it's worth watching. :)

Happy Chinese New Year!
The "traditional" Chinese greeting
now what are the pineapple & oranges up there for?
"Tree of Luck"
Lion sniffing every entrance it passes through
getting ready for "The Show" --- Lion Dance
dancing for the audience
lion entering our GM's office
The Lion pose
"Lucky Rites"
up close & personal
my most favorite part --- chow time! :P

on another note, it's freakin' hot outside. heat wave on summer, or early rainy season? wow. the climate's getting more abnormal each passing year.

TGIF
it's just now that i am able to take a break, i've been glued to my PC monitor since this morning downloading and correcting the purchase order of Watsons for monday delivery. Watsons has increased its order for today, making our products available in more of their outlets nationwide. our company is continuing on courting Mercury Drug Corporation to carry our condom line of products. Now, if any of you who are fond of buying condoms, particularly our brands Trust Classic, Frenzy & Premiere, you may readily notice that they are missing in Mercury Drug shelves. It's [primarily] because they have their sister company which produces [our competitor] condoms. oh well.
tomorrow's gonna be a happy office day since there will be a lion dance in relation to the Chinese new year. did i mention that our boss[es] are Chinese? now i did. :p our GM's wife prepared a food fest for tomorrow so we will have free lunch. mmm... that's one of the many good things that i love here in the office. well, it's almost everything food. haha.
PEx buddies EB tomorrow at SM Megamall. I'll be bringing the Trust desk calendars as promised and probably give them to those who want until supplies last. hehehe.. This is going to be one of the few EB's that will be realized for the past many months. We (PEx buddies) haven't been meeting a lot lately unlike before since we are already engaged in different schedules and agreeing on a common time isn't that easy to organize anymore. too sad :( so tomorrow should be a good time for all of us. :)
woah, T.G.I.F!

the week that was
a new week. the past week has been quite good i may say. first, mom and dad drove to Tagaytay City and reminisce their good ol' days. well actually, they paid taxes for the lot property and resumed the day with a nice lunch 'date'. it's one of the few things that hasn't been happening lately so having that day for themselves is truly noteworthy. second, Ayah & i took a day off for a day and scouted for a good place where we can have our wedding reception. my bestfriend pj, who arrived so late to the appointment time, accompanied us anyway. we found this beautiful place somewhere in Antipolo. details soon. third, another church VIP visited our locale (details on my other blog). fourth, mom & i were able to visit our home place in Pampanga again. i get to sleep during the drive while mom is behind the wheels. now that made our trip more pleasing. it's good to be a passenger again. :)
some notes about my week highlights:
> mom & dad are better off this way. both of them are more content and they are 'friendlier' with each other when meeting. especially mom. she's happier now than before. she talks ok with him. in other words, everything is better except that they arern't living in one roof. considering everything, it's now all good for both of them.
> glad to see my Apu's(lolo & lola) again. we visited some relatives in Lourdes, Minalin and proceeded to our original hometown in Sta. Rita. Apung Tino is getting weaker. he's not sick, only his old age is catching up on him. he spends most of his time lying down, he can't walk already and so he needs the assistance of a wheel chair. I was struck in my heat when he readily recognized me when i sat beside him.. "Jon... he uttered. "Komusta ing pintalan yu king Lourdes?" "Ok naman apu. dakal a tawu, dakal pamangan." "ah, eh kasi apu masyadu karakal ing tawu baka malyu ka mu karin." honestly, my heart felt a pinch with those words. he wanted to come, meet our relatives. enjoy the day out and socialize with good ol' friends, but he could not. photos below show my lolo checking on the new short pants that was given by one relative, and my lola wearing this nice green outfit during the occasion:
> getting married isn't just a walk in the park. from day 1 of planning, you are to consider a whole bunch of thing, not only from your side but also from the side of your better half. and we're still on the preparation stage. we already encountered some problems and disappointments and yet we remain firm on our stand to carry this on.
- - - - - - - - - - - -
i think this is the first time that i have publicly mentioned that i am getting married. it may be too early to say (and prepare) but actually it's not. the earlier we get things done, the better. coz i am looking forward to being with Ayah for the rest of my life so we are working on this wedding together. and it will just be the beginning of a new chapter of our lives... next year, God willing.

TGIS
I have come to label again Saturday as my favorite day of the week. This was after I came back from Mississauga wherein I have come to love Thursdays more than this day. But then, back to the old love. Saturdays have been my "extra" day for myself. When I was still single and uncommitted, this is the day i allot with my close pals. either a stroll in the mall, a coffee/hot choco chat with them, a group EB and videoke gimmick, a movie date perhaps, or simply a day for my so-called "social" life. Today, Ayah & i have agreed to mark Saturdays as our date day. not that we aren't together everyday (remember, we work in a common building), but Saturdays we get off from work earlier than usual, and we get to share the rest of the day together for more personal things. usually, unwinding from the week's work, and a "break" from all the load we face everyday of the week. Sundays are usually offered to God & our respective families. It's now my typical week. And i love every bit of it. ;)
- - - - - - - - - - - -
We are scheduled to come back and visit Harold & Rolly again in their workplace, and probably do some groceries after for our respective homes. Ayah is off today as they have already implemented the skeletal work force during Saturdays. They only come to office every other Saturday during weekends. cool. i hope we follow that routine. yea right, dream on! dreaming is free anyway :p

i still can't send MMS thru my SUN sim. I've been wondering why since i used to send photos from my mobile to my email using SUN's MMS service. that also explains why i don't get to post much original photos here in my blog anymore. i wanted to sound rude to a customer care specialist over the phone of SUN Cellular but i have prevented myself from doing so. i have made the complaints about two weeks ago, and it was just yesterday that someone called me for the new handset settings. but still, he kept me waiting as of this writing, no handset settings have been sent to my phone yet. hmm... talk about customer service. haha... i've been there, but i haven't done that yet. ...to keep my customers waiting, that is. ;)

Pebrero
"unlitxt (all day) - 20p 1 day; 40p 2 days; 80p 4 days
unlitxt (day) - (from 8am-4:59pm) 15p 1 day; 30p 2 days
unlitxt (night) - (from 10pm-7:59am) 10p 1 day; 20p 2 days"
*whatever*
