The New Heaven and the New Earth

"Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth. The first heaven and the first earth disappeared, and the sea vanished.

And I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared and ready, like a bride dressed to meet her husband.

I heard a loud voice speaking from the throne: 'Now Gods home is with mankind! He will live with them, and they shall be his people. God himself will be with them, and he will be their God.

He will wipe away all tears from their eyes. There will be no more death, no more grief or crying or pain. The old things have disappeared."

a productive Thursday

it has always been nice to wake up early and be able to accomplish a lot of things even before lunch time strikes. I'm all done with house cleaning, including the frontyard, as the flowers of the narra tree scattered all over the street in front of our house. A little wind and surroundings below the tree will look like a wedding aisle where five flower girls passed by. oh well, at least our front street looked A-O-clean!

My day started with, of course, my choir performance and upon returning home, i immediately felt the urge to clean up before i get lazy again. hehehe... and so my room looks like it has a newly installed carpet, all bright and green! my mom helped out in fixing some things at home and she prepares our lunch early too. My cousins Dan & Loyjoy are visiting us and we're expecting them both anytime now.

Later in the afternoon, i still have a scheduled choir performance and i'm expecting to see people walking in the direction going to Antipolo. Today is what the Catholics observe as a "Holy Thursday" and annually, people pay visit to their patron saint, the Lady of Voyage, by walking up the said city and in time, it has become more commercialized than the early times of its observance.

------------

This is probably the most boring "holy week" in my entire life--- some family members absent, nowhere to go, friends have their own schedules, and i'm really itching to go somewhere but it never materialized. sheesh....

crossroad

What do we gain from standing before a crossroad? And why does it have to happen, i mean, to stand before it? Does it make us a better person after a decision-making on which road to take? Does it make us a stronger person after considering all circumstances and walking on the path we chose? What if we crossed the wrong path? How can we move on since then? And how can we tell if we chose the right path? Aahhh... crossroad.

a week anew

a brand new week. for most Catholics, its a week to observe holy days while for others, its a week to take a long break from everyday work. For students, its a signal for the upcoming summer vacation.

Speaking of summer vacation, i will have to keep myself busy working when i (hopefully) start with my new job this April. I have been longing to work since i came back from NESB and it's Gods blessings that I have been accepted in a company in Libis. Things are getting brighter for me.

I'm looking forward to JUNE 2005... ask Karen.

well, i have my schedule for this morning fully booked and as i have planned i am supposed to make free my schedule for this afternoon onwards to prepare myself for my choir performance tomorrow morning. i might watch The Gospel Of John with Bongertz later though, as i have been longing to see this film since November of 2003 when i was still in Mississauga. And I think its a good film to see in preparation for tomorrows service. Last year, i remember watching The Passion of the Christ with Karen a day before we performed in the Holy Supper.

bum no more

cloudy skies, reports of typhoon, windy atmosphere... sounds like you wanna stay at home and sleep all day.

------------

after June 2003, i finally can lift my head up again and say "I'm employed!" yea! well, at least not until April of this year. :p

------------

i was walking along Libis and at the same time talking to Karen on the phone. I was happily informing her of the things going on with me this past few days, including the job i recently got. Suddenly, a lady was calling my name from behind, i looked back, didn't notice the lady but then i saw my dads office car by the side street with its lights flashing, indicating that it is on temporary parking. well, it turned out to be my dad and two of his officemates. They're on the way to Pasig and dad told me to bring our van staight home since he will take me out to lunch afterwards. ok. and i was just talking to him on phone like, 2 minutes before i called Karen. ok.

lunch time.

Sunday time-out

I took time out to have a lunch out with three friends, Ivy, Jovee & Mariel today, after performing in the choir and in Sunday school this morning. It was nice to be back at Robinsons Galleria with the three and we dined in Chef D Angelo. I tried their oven baked ziti and got my money's worth. hehe.. while waiting for them ealier (as i was the first one to arrive at the meeting place), i tried the newly opened donut store beside KFC (ano nga name nung store?). I bought the choco nutty donut and i found it too sweet. Good thing i decided to drink water with it and didn't buy a soda or a fruit juice.

Speaking of donuts, i haven't gone to a Go Nuts Donut store yet.

------------

while riding a jeepney the other day from Robinsons Metro East going to Junction, i chanced upon some kids sitting in front of a coffee shop near Brick Road and three of them are sniffing rugbies. I wonder what's in store for the country's future if we do not do something about this social problem. Where do we start?

Elevator Ethics

I'm really, really annoyed with people who take the elevator (lift) without observing proper elevator ethics. Yes. There are ethics that are to be observed when taking the elevator and i don't wanna enumerate all those things that some people do that will really ruin your day upon chancing to ride the lift with them. Just bear these in mind whenever you take the lift:

1. when waiting for a lift on a specific floor, just press one button: UP if you are going up, and DOWN if you are going down. AVOID PRESSING TWO BUTTONS EVERYTIME YOU WAIT FOR A LIFT TO COME TO YOUR FLOOR!

2. if you are going DOWN and the elevators door opens on the floor you are into but if it is going UP, please don't enter the lift. REMEMBER, you are going DOWN and the lift is going UP. dig? ok. apply it, vice versa.

3. when inside the lift, refrain from talking too loud. Yes. ALL OF US CAN HEAR YOU!

4. when a lift operator is absent, DON'T PRETEND YOU ARE THE OPERATOR AND KEEP ON PRESSING ALL FLOOR BUTTONS.

5. don't hold the elevator doors open for so long that you want your whole group (or buddies) inside one lift even if one of your groupmate (or buddies) is still pissing in the rest room: "Hoy, halika na, dali!!! Bilisan mo bababa na tayooooo!!!"

6.

7.

8.

9.

10.

there, if you can think of more than the five etiquettes i gave, be my guests.

Binibining Pilipinas 2005

For its 42 years of existence, this has been a much-awaited pageant in the country since this is where our official bets will come from to represent the country in three more prestigious pageants: Ms. Universe, Ms. International, & Ms. World.

I neither have known nor seen the candidates wits and charm on TV so i can't really tell who among them will follow the steps of Gloria Diaz, Margie Moran, Melanie Marquez among others who gave the country its pride in the international scene...? well, she might just be a runner-up but i still am looking for a Miriam-Quiambao-type of candidate. looks smart, stands smart, she is smart!

but then again, i ain't looking for a Miss Universe coz i already got mine!

TGFTF

I woke up rather early today than my usual non-working holiday wake up time. In fact, i have woke up three times earlier than my set alarm time and so i just set the alarm off and after a short thank you prayer, i got out of my room and prepared for a job exam in Ortigas. the exam was ok, i only hated the first two pages wherein the test was about never-heard-words and their synonyms & antonyms. Yes, they were multiple choice type of test but the choices in there are also never-heard-words. Now i'm catching up with this weakness of mine--- read more, read more, read more ENGLISH! Well, i occasionally take a peep at Reader's Digests WORD POWER but it seems that the words in there are easier to guess than the ones given in my job exam. Then there were math problems. Fractions, get the value of "x", percentage of this is how many of that, and he is twice as old as what is his age now... type of questions. whew! the only consolation i had was the grammar/language part of the exam, and of course the essay part in which i am to describe my career objective, short term and long term goals in life and other psychological questions. now, after our papers were submitted to the HR personnel who attended to us, i saw her browsing my answer sheets--- of all the six answer sheets that were there! well maybe because i'm the only thorn among the roses who took the exam. probably.

it was funny that i thought i would be answering the typical NSAT type of exam with the immortal abstract reasoning but i was wrong. we were informed that if we pass the exam, they will call us and schedule us for an interview. oh well... good luck, jon!

------------

so i went straight to Rob Galleria for the job fair, and there i waited for my friends who are also dying to get a job like me. in short, we get to go in the job fair and got a bit, no, BIG disappointment upon seeing that 97% of the participants in the job fair are call center companies. so there... goodluck, jon!

------------

we (with bongert & ga) met up with jary for lunch and afterwards, she went to the fair while the three of us watched Hitch starring Will Smith (iRobot, Bad Boys) with Eva Mendes as his leading lady. The movie was good. It is all heart. And I liked how Smith played his role.
Speaking of Will Smith, i first noticed his wit in acting in my all-time favorite movie, Independence Day starring Bill Pullman as the President of the United States of America.
So, while we were at the cinema, my mobile phone rang and i saw a rather familiar unregistered number so i picked it up. yea, it was the company where i had an exam this morning, informing me of a scheduled interview on Monday. i told you, jon--- GOOD LUCK!

------------

i'm now documenting all that has happened to me in an unusual, rainy, summer Friday and this i owe to my Father who has been constantly reaching me out from up there. and yes, before i end this entry, i'd like to document also that i was able to talk to Karen over the phone and though she seemed too tired, she gathered all her energy to speak to me in a lovely, sweet voice. Thank God For This Friday!

Maligayang Kaarawan Sa 'Yo

I have been to Antipolo city yesterday to have our dues paid at the Treasurers Office and it has been months since I last visited the place, while it was just yesterday that I have pondered on how Antipolo has developed in time.

Memories of Antipolo were all pleasure when i was still a kid and i was then residing in Pampanga with my grandparents. They would schedule a long trip to Antipolo Church and we would go in a jampacked jeepney. I wasn't excited about the church thing but what i am happy about was the long trip with my cousins, the fresh and cold air breezing in Antipolo then, and the cashew nuts we would take home after they attended mass in the said church.

But its all different now. While air still seems to be cooler in Antipolo than the nearby towns of Rizal, it is now more polluted and crowded.
