That's part of the lyrics of the song Cruisin' by Gwyneth Paltrow and Huey Lewis. I am listening to the song right now as I remember that I wanted to go to a cruise with my husband one of these days. I have never been in a cruise before, but would really try it when we can afford to do so. But that wouldn't probably happen until we would be done with all of these immigration processing coz we wouldn't want any problems when we go out of the country.

Anyway, I really love this song. Actually, I'm singing right now while I'm making this post. :-D

Black tie

I know you already know what a tuxedo is, but do you know what event it is use for and what dress code it belongs to? I'm sure not all of you know that. So, let me share you this.

Way back in the Philippines, we thought tuxedos are worn during formal events, but I found out that we're wrong from wikipedia website. It is use for semi-formal evening events or to many types of social functions. It is the dress code called black tie where tuxedo belongs to. It is commonly worn by a man but I saw some woman who wears it too, for some reason. In British, it is called dinner jacket, while in France, it's called smoking. It is usually black but can also be seen in midnight blue. The term tuxedo originated in North America, and that is where it's most used.

Well, that is just a little information that I saw and thought that might be interesting for y'all. It came interesting to me though.

It is so amazing how technology has become one of the biggest part of most people's life. Stagnant

It has been over a month since I got my employment authorization card yet I'm still jobless. I have been waiting patiently for my EAC and thinking that I could get a job right away after I had it, but no, it was so far from what I have been hoping to happen. Maybe I just underestimated the economic recession here in the US. Truly, it isn't easy to find a job here especially for someone like who is very new to this country. I may have job experiences in the Philippines but I doubt that they would consider it for credentials.

1st Year Anniversary in the US

Today is a year since I first got here in the US. I can't even believe it! Time went by so pass, and it's just so hard to realize it.

Honestly, life wasn't as easy as what we thought it should have been. All the adjustments we had in this new foreign country was one of the hard things we ever had within a year of living here. Actually, we're not even fully adjusted yet, but I know we'll gonna get there sooner or later.

I still consider myself lucky though, cos everyone whom I expected to support me never failed me. My husband was always been the best provider, taking care of us with all his best. My parents who are also trying to survive the loneliness they felt after we left was always been so loving and a great inspiration to me. My bestfriend whom despite of her busy schedule can still find the time to reply to my long e-mails, just to keep in touch with me. My parents-in-law who had always been treating me as their own since the first time I met them. Those people made me feel that life here is wonderful no matter how tough it can be most of the time. And that what matters most to me.

I know we'll have more tough times to come, but I know too that God will let me go through cos He is the one who gave me this life, He is the one who gave me everything I needed, He is the one who brought me here, and He is the one behind my strength to face everything.

Today, on my 1st year Anniversary in the US, I don't only celebrate my time being here, but the things I had been through and still had my feet standing firmly on the ground, ready to face another year of challenges, struggles, and of course, happiness.

Bathroom make-over

One thing I don't understand about some houses here in the US is the carpeted bathroom floor. Actually, our house has one and it sucks cos the part underneath the toilet was molded really bad. Now, we're planning to do a bathroom make-over or get a new house to where we'll have a bathroom with a non-carpeted floor. But, for now, we'll probably do the first choice. Anyway, I guess I need to call it a day cos it's really late now, 3:30AM and me and my husband are still awake. Of course, hubby's just waiting for me to be done with my blogging tasks. I will just continue the search tomorrow and hopefully do some blogging too.
