USA SALES JUNE - HYUNDAI - Sales for June are seriously down, and will struggle to regain them.

  • Retail Sales Up Year-Over-Year
  • Tucson Sales Achieve a 39 Percent Increase Compared with June 2016
  • Consumer Consideration of the Hyundai Brand at an All-Time High in 2017
Hyundai Motor America today reported June sales of Hyundai and Genesis branded vehicles of 54,507 units, a 19 percent decrease compared with the all-time June sales record set last year. Retail sales increased for the third straight month, up more than 1 percent in June, while a reduction in fleet sales led to the overall decline.

HYUNDAI BRAND HIGHLIGHTS
“June was the second month in a row we’ve cut back significantly on fleet sales and seen a rise in retail sales in an industry that is down on the year,” said Sam Brnovich, executive director, National Sales, Hyundai Motor America. 
“Tucson continues to draw CUV buyers in its competitive segment and achieved another substantial increase in June. With Ioniq demand exceeding our expectations and the 2018 Sonata hitting dealers shortly, we are poised to close the year strong and pick up retail market share.”

  • Accent sales lead the month, up 60 percent year-over-year with 5,028 sold
  • Tucson sales are up 39 percent, totaling 10,000 sold
  • Elantra retail sales up year-over-year
  • Strong consumer demand for Ioniq continues with 1,406 sold
  • Hyundai brand opinion at an all-time high in 2017

USA SALES MAY - GENESIS - The brand, now split from Hyundai, grew last last month compared to April.

Genesis Motor America today reported sales of 1,752 for the month of May, a 25 percent increase compared to April.
 “Genesis had a strong month in May, with sales of both G80 and G90 up 25 percent compared with last month,” said Erwin Raphael, general manager of Genesis in the U.S. market. 
“G80 Sport is entering dealerships now. We just launched it last week to an enthusiastic media response and we expect its enhanced performance and driving dynamics to resonate with luxury car buyers. Overall, G80 continues to perform strongly in one of the most competitive segments in the entire industry.”

USA SALES MAY - HYUNDAI/GENESIS - The brand dropped around 15% in sales for the month.

  • Retail Sales up 10 Percent Year-Over-Year
  • Fleet Mix Under 10 Percent in May
  • Ioniq up 39 Percent Compared with April
  • Genesis G80 and G90 Sales Up 25 Percent Compared with April
Hyundai Motor America today reported May sales of Hyundai and Genesis branded vehicles of 60,011 units, a decline of 15 percent compared with May 2016. Retail sales for the month were strong with the overall decline attributed to a temporary reduction in fleet deliveries compared with May of last year.

  • All-time Tucson monthly sales mark, eclipsing the record from just last month
  • Tucson sales up 44 percent, totaling 10,600 sold
  • Positive consumer demand for Ioniq which sold 1,827 vehicles, up 39 percent over April as production and supply ramps up
  • Accent sales up 6 percent year-over-year with 5,773 sold

USA SALES APRIL - HYUNDAI - A 1% growth in long with record Tucsothe month an sales help keep the brand growing.

  • April Sales of 63,050 Vehicles; Up 1 Percent Overall
  • Best Combined CUV/SUV April Ever
  • Elantra and Sonata Also See Increases in April
Hyundai Motor America today set an all-time mark for monthly Tucson sales and along with increased demand for Elantra, Sonata and the Santa Fe family led to sales of 63,050 vehicles in April, an overall increase of 1 percent compared with April 2016.


“Consumers are finding that within the heart of the Hyundai lineup there is a vehicle ideally suited for their needs and lifestyles,” said Derrick Hatami, vice president of national sales, Hyundai Motor America. 
“Hyundai’s car-to-CUV/SUV mix is improving and our ‘Better Than Ever Sales’ event is increasing consumer demand for Hyundai cars.”



HYUNDAI BRAND HIGHLIGHTS

  • Tucson up 29 percent with 9,952 vehicles sold
  • Santa Fe family sales totaled 9,480, up 33 percent
  • Elantra sales totaled 16,346; up 32 percent
  • Sonata sales up 7 percent with 16,294 vehicles sold; 2018 Sonata being pulled ahead to meet demand
  • All-new Hyundai IONIQ gaining momentum with increased dealer inventory
  • Hyundai consumer consideration and brand opinion reach all-time highs in Q1
