Here is the shower curtain that I made. This was my jumping off point for the whole room.
I saw this shower curtain on Anthropologie online, and sort of fell in love. Like I obsessed over it a bit and decided I could not, in good conscience, fork over $118 for a shower curtain for my kids' bathroom.
So I decided to make it, and I love the way it came out. I made it for about $35, which felt like a good deal. It took a while to make it, because I sewed a lot of straight lines, but all in all, it was not a difficult project, and as I said before, it was the inspiration for the rest of the room.
Then, I ordered a Fat Quarter Bundle from Fabricworm online. (This is not the one I got, because it is gone, but it has some of the same fabrics as the one I got had in it.) I like getting fabrics already bundled, because then it is all perfectly coordinated for me, and Fabricworm really does have fun stuff.
Once I had the fabric, I used it to make bunting. Basically, I googled several tutorials for it and came up with my own way of making it that seemed to work well.
Then, I used it as part of a painting I did. I just sewed some of the scraps together and mod podged them onto the corner of the painting.
I ordered some personalized art prints from Jones Design Company, one of my favorite blogs. She is actually a friend of a friend, and I love her style. I then painted some frames to match the room.
I got plain yellow towels to go in the room, and I am thinking of appliqueing them with a little bunting pattern using fabric leftover from the bunting. I just have not quite gotten to that yet, probably because I keep going out of town. Which is worth it.

How did I not walk in this bathroom & see all of this loveliness in person? You are so great at projects & diy fun! I sincerely hope that neither of my boys got you sick - we felt we were well past the contagious stage, but I guess you never know. My apologies if we inflicted any illness on you & your friends :(
