Republican Voters Trust Trump More Than Others
These charts are from a new CBS News / YouGov Poll -- done between August 16th and 18th of a nationwide sample of 538 likely Republican primary voters, with a 5.7 point margin of error.
The amazing part to me is that these voters actually think Trump tells the truth (even though he lied over 30,000 times while in office). They believe what Trump says over their family, friends, or even religious leaders.

In The Last 45 Years Trust In U.S. Institutions Has Plummeted
The chart above is from mehlmancastagnetti.com. It use Gallup Poll numbers from 1977 and 2022.
It shows that trust in U.S. institutions has dropped drastically in the last 45 years (from 1977 to 2022).
Only one institution has gained in trust -- the military. It is also the only one with over 50% of Americans trusting it.
All of the other institutions have dropped sharply in the percentage trusting them -- even religion. None of them have more than 30% of the population trusting them, and some (like Congress) have a far worse trust percentage.
A couple of days ago, I showed you a poll that said 28% of Americans thought soon that citizens would need to take up arms against the government. I hope that never happens, but seeing the poor trust in U.S. institutions, I can understand how some might feel that way.
Most people don't trust that these institutions are acting in their best interests, and many don't think it will get better in the future.
We must fix this, and we can only do that by voting for people who will fix it.

The top chart shows the trust each party has in United States institutions. Note that Democrats have more trust in those institutions than Republicans have. The only exception is the police.
The second chart shows that in the last year, Republicans have lost significant support in all institutions (including police). The drop is especially large in the U.S. government, Federal Reserve, public education, and health care system.

It shows that trust in the national news media has dropped by 18 points since 2016. This drop is due to a huge drop among Republicans of 35 points (from 70% to 35%).
