Broken Arm
Our poor little Wendel broke his arm on Friday. Jeremiah and I were downstairs and heared a BANG upstairs. Jeremiah ran up and asked "what was that noise?" Wendel said, "I just jumped off the bed, watch this." He then ran and jumped off the bed, landed on his feet, then they slipped out from underneath him and he put his arms out to catch himself. We were at the doctor 20 minutes later where we were sent to get x-rays. Those x-rays showed a brake on the Supracondyal of the Humerus (right above the elbow). Our doctor wanted an orthopedic surgeon to look at them so we went to another hospital thru the ER. We did more x-rays and the surgeon said he wanted to do surgery. They admitted Wendel to the hospital and did surgery Saturday morning. He did very well considering. He hated the IV most of all,but they got it on the first stick thank goodness. He now has 2 pins in his arm that will stay there for 4 weeks. He has to wear a splint until then. Poor thing has been so brave. After surgery he told the nurse "don't talk to me.....I don't like you." He also kept calling everyone a duffus and kicked me a couple of times. We were just glad he didn't use all the other offensive words in his vocabulary:) We are so glad that he is okay and so grateful to have doctors and medicine to help in times like these. We knew a broken bone was inevitable someday, we just can't believe it happened at 4 years old! I guess he watched too much of the olympics. We were planning on him competing against the Chinese in London (since he will be 8), but now our hopes have been dashed:)

Oh no, that is crazy! D jumps off the couch all the time and I always worry that something will happen. Poor guy! My cousins little boy broke his femur. It is amazing how well they can recover though. You look so great by the way! Thanks for letting us come visit you while we were in town. I feel bad that we didn't stay longer, but thats ok. Thanks for dinner too! I have made those pizza's twice already. We love them!
poor guy! Kallyn asks : Why wasn't he wearing a super man cape to make him fly?
I haven't checked in on you in a while, but it seems that you havne't let Law School quench your thirst for fun!!!!! Can't believe we're moms to 4 yr olds!!! Crazy! And you're already thinking about him being 8?
Wendell looks so bummed poor guy. We sure miss you guys It's wonderful to be able to see your blog. Shailee says,"I love you Wendell and thanks for calling on the phone and I love you very much."
I can't believe he broke his arm! Poor guy! He is a funny kid! I wish I could have been there to hear him talk to the nurse that way! How funny!
So Sad, but so cute! Parker just loves seeing pictures of Wendel! Thanks for finding us!
That is so sad, and what bad luck! Get well soon Wendell!!! Yeah, I'm just waiting for the first trip to the ER...
Poor Wendell! I can't believe he broke his arm! I hope he's feeling better!
Also, Garrick is really liking his job, it's not quite as busy as Kaseman, but not boring either. How's Utah treating you guys?
Poor thing! I'm glad he was so brave--it was probably harder on Mom than him.
Poor thing, poor shming, blah blah blah. Wendall's tough and he'll have to get used to injuries when he becomes a sick snowboarder. Plus there is plenty of recovery time for London and he will still have another opportunity for his Chinese Olympic dream for the next round seeing he will still be under age at 12! Tell Wendall "hi" for me. I miss that little stud.
Ouch! Poor Kiddo! I am waiting for that day too!
