The Season

Hi all! I'm back today with a quick post to share a gift card holder I made for my son's teacher. The owl design was from Lettering Delights. A really cool site I recently found, that has the cutest SVG files, graphic files and more.

I really didn't have to do much on this, I just added some fun embellishments, stickers and chipboard pieces on the eyes.

Under the head of the owl was a perfect spot to hide the gift card. So I made a small pocket out of patterned paper and added a few more stickers. Easy! :)

Supplies used:
Owl Design - Nancy Happy Holiday (Cut It Set) From Lettering Delights
Patterned Paper - Basic Grey and My Minds Eye
Stickers - Echo Park
Chipboard, Trinket pins and beads - Maya Road.
Baker's twine - The Twinery

Thanks!

Hi all! :)  Today is the last day of school for the kids here. So I thought I'd make a gift card holder for my little girl's 1st grade teacher.  Sorry about the photos, the holder was kind of a last minute idea, so I ended up taking pictures this morning, and of course it was dark and rainy.

The design was drawn out on my Silhouette first then transferred onto some chipboard. I also used the Silhouette to cut the 3D flowers in the girl's hair. The papers, stickers and most of the embellies used are from Basic Grey's Konnichiwa collection.

 Here are a few close-ups.

Here in this back view, you can see the small envelope made to fit the gift card.

Thanks for visiting! I'll be back soon with another Konnichiwa project.

Monster Love!

Hi all! :) Today I'm back with another Valentine's Day project. This time a card! The monster design for this was cut out on my Silhouette machine. Then I "went to town" with my Kissing Booth patterned papers and embellishments. The 3 chipboard flowers used on the eyes are by Basic Grey as well, but from the much older Sugered collection. I just covered them with patterned paper to match the rest of the card.

The scalloped strips used on the body were also cut on the Silhouette. To add some texture to them I gently scrunched them up a little bit before gluing them to the card.

I used a canvas heart from the Die-cut Paper and Canvas Flowers set and some felt to make a heart shaped pillow for the monster to hold. The pillow has a little safety pin on the back so it can be worn as a pin by the recipient.

Thanks for stopping by,
Jen  :)

Cash Please!

Hi all! Know anyone who just wants cash for Christmas? Well today I have a money holder / card idea to share with you. For this project I used the Little Black Dress 6x6 Paper Pad along with some other embellishments from the collection. The penguin design was sketched out first and then pieced together on some cardstock. I then added some stitched detail to the bird and around the pocket to hold it in place. The Printed Tissue Flower used on the hat, was a little big, so I removed the bottom layers and cut it down to fit.

SUPPLIES: [Little Black Dress] 6x6 Paper Pad, Brads and Buttons, Printed Tissue Flowers. [Nordic Holiday] NOR-3439 Sweater Weather, NOR-3465 Glitter Chipboard, MET-3460 Glazed Brads.

Have A Monsterrific Day!

October is finally here! I don't know about you, but I'm definitely ready for some cooler weather. It's been so hot here in Florida.

Maybe it's because Halloween's almost here, but I seem to have monsters on the brain lately. I made this card using a mixture of Pink Paislee papers, chipboard and other bits and pieces. It's not really intended to be a Halloween card, but I think it could be used as one, since there is a monster involved!!! :) You can see more details on how I used the Shimmerz paints here. Speaking of monsters my kids picked out my next Pink Paislee blog project, for this month. Stay tuned and I'll be sharing that soon. :)

Supplies used:
Pink Paislee - Patterned paper, glitter alphas, cardstock letters chipboard borders and chipboard shapes

Shimmerz Paints - Shimmerz Spritz (Licorice) and Shimmerz (Wed Wagon)

Technique Tuesday and Maya Road - Chipboard (eyes and nose)

Cardstock: Bazzill Basics

Other: Fur trim and raffia from Hobby Lobby. Computer font (Mystic)

When my order of Shimmerz Spritz paints came last month. I loved them so much I took a picture of them.......... They just looked so yummy!!! It was kind of like getting a brand new box of crayons! Remember that feeling? :)

Anyways, when I got the invite to stay on as a design team member, I couldn't resist!!! The Shimmerz girlz are so sweet and I love working with the paints. So from now on, my projects will be a combination of Shimmerz and Pink Paislee.

I'm back!

Hi guys, Sorry I haven't posted in a while. Before I share my latest project, I just wanted to let you know that I have decided to leave the Helmar USA design team. This wasn't an easy decision, but my six month contract was up and because of some family and time issues, I thought it best to cut back on my design team obligations. I am still with the Pink Paislee design team however, and I will continue to combine my Helmar products with my PP assignments.

Speaking of Pink Paislee assignments, here is my latest PP project. My son Jacob has been nagging me to make him a robot for the longest time. I do plan on making him one for his room, but I thought this would keep him quiet for a little while!!! It's a little card I created using mainly Topsider chipboard and patterned papers from the Fetching line. Since I used a lot of chipboard I used Helmar's Premium Craft Glue to adhere the pieces together for a strong bond. I also used some Liquid Scrap Dots behind the stickers for a 3D effect.

Supplies used:
Pink Paislee - Topsiders (chipboard shapes), Patterned paper, Press-ons, Stickers and Brads.
Maya Road - Chipboard (arms and gears)
Making Memories - Screw brads
Helmar - Premium Craft Glue and Liquid Scrap Dots
Other - embroidery floss and wire.

See you soon!

Sorry

Happy Wednesday to you! I know it seems like I haven't been doing much this month. But I have....REALLY, I just can't share all my stuff with with you yet!!! I have a couple things for Pink Paislee coming up soon. My layout, yes I said layout, will be posted to their blog on Friday. I'll also be the guest designer over at Creative Cuts and More next month, so I've been getting my projects ready for that.

Anyway, here is a card I can share, my 2nd Helmar USA project for this month. I used K & Company patterned paper for the beak and feathery looking parts of the owl, the letter stickers are by Basic Grey and the rest of the patterned papers are by Pink Paislee along with the chipboard, rub-ons, brads and glitter.

To put this card together I mainly used Helmar's Acid Free Glue and for the beak and the lower part of the eyes, I used a little of the Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots. The blue and green berries on the branch are small circles punched out of patterned paper, with Helmar's Acrylic Sealer applied to give a gloss finish.

Before I go just wanted to let you know you can get directions for the Home project in my last post, on the Helmar USA blog today.

Thanks for stopping by, see you soon!

New Helmar Project

P1110226

I thought a card would be an excellent way "to show off" what you can do with Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots. I'm really not much of a stamper; however, when I use them, I like to cut them apart and give them some dimension.

For this project, I stamped the image of the mouse twice, using a brown fluid chalk. Then I heat embossed both images with a clear embossing powder. The cake and hat were stamped and embossed with a grey fluid chalk. Next, you color your stamped images using colored pencils, markers, or whatever you choose.

P1110218
Embellish the hat with some rick-rack. Add a little glitter to the top of the cake, and a little to the cake in the mouse's paws.
Next, piece your mouse together using the Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots. The great thing about this glue is that you can play around with it, while it's still wet. This is helpful so that you can get your levels of depth just the way you want them !!! I wanted the cake to appear to be the closest thing to me, so I used three levels of the glue (I placed a little bead of glue on the back of the cake, waited about a minute or so, then added another bead on top of that, etc.) The elbows have about two levels of glue, as does the pom-pom on the hat.
P1110241
Once the mouse is complete, use this template to draw a simple cupcake shape onto some patterned paper. Add swirls of Helmar Acid Free Glue to the frosting piece and then sprinkle with glitter.
For the base of the cupcake, just add thin strips of patterned paper attached with the Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots. The chipboard letters and stickers are added after the strips are dry.
Use the Helmar Acid Free Glue to adhere the cupcake pieces together onto some cardstock. Cut out the cupcake, then embellish with beads (the Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive works perfectly for this).
The glittered shape behind the mouse, is half of a flower that was cut from patterned paper, and then mounted to cardstock for strength. The flower was then covered with glitter, and attached to the back of the mouse using Helmar's Acid Free Glue.
P1110220
To complete the card, attach a folded piece of cardstock to the back using Helmar Acid Free Glue. Allow to dry, and then trim away the excess cardstock. The inside of the card was finished with letter stickers, and some letters cut from patterned paper.

Fluid chalk - Color Box
Letter stickers - Making Memories

I Believe..... In Christmas!

Hi everyone , I just wanted to post a fun challenge Mothers and Daughters Creations is having this week. I didn't think I'd have time to do it, but I managed to squeeze this card out this weekend. The challenge was to use dark green, light green and red to create a card and bonus points if we could add a gingerbread man into the mix! Well I didn't have any gingerbread embellies, paper or stamps, so I made my own one out of one of the pages of a Maya Road girl album.

Supply list:
Chipboard - Maya Road (girl or boy album and tree) and Scenic Route (I believe and bracket)
Patterned paper - Chatterbox Inc. and Junkitz
Cardstock - Bazzill
Buttons - Autumn Leaves
Felt - American Crafts
Ribbon - Rusty Pickle
Other - Stickles paint, brown fluid chalk, beads, paint and glitter.

To recreate, simply rub the fluid chalk over the head, hands and feet of the chipboard figure, then use some "Stickles" paint to create the look of frosting.

Dress the figure with a strip of red patterned paper, a strip of scalloped paper and a thicker strip of pleated patterned paper.

Embellish with felt, ribbon, beads chipboard and buttons.

A Stocking Update!!!

Here is a Christmas card I designed for a special young lady who is away at college. She has an addiction to shoes, so I thought this would be perfect for her.

I used up the rest of my Scenic Route, Loveland scraps for this card. The sole / heel of the boot is made out of a small chipboard scroll and chipboard circle, the toe is a chipboard paisley.

***EDITED***
I've added a template for this card, it does not include the toe, sole or heel of the boot. You will need to use your own chipboard to create these. It's the first time I've added a template, so if you have any questions or problems let me know.

Supply List:

Patterned Paper - Scenic Route Papers
Chipboard - Creative Imaginations (paisley) and Fancy Pants (scroll)
Rub-ons - Bo Bunny
Pearl embellishments - K & Company
Other - Micro beads, sequins and floss from Hobby Lobby.

Still working on my layout. My printer ran out of ink this weekend and so I decided to try one of those ink refill kits. Well, I'm not sure what I did wrong, but when I printed out a picture it looked pretty awful!! I guess I going to have to spend the cash and get an ink cartridge after all. Oh well!!!
