ArtWalk Tonight In Newnan

Tonight is the annual Fall ArtWalk in downtown Newnan.  When Valerie and I owned The Vintage-Flea it was one of my favorite events we hosted. Every business on the square hosts an artist in their business from 5-9PM. People come in droves to the square to walk from business to business looking at the art of local artists. Of course there is always yummy food and drinks in each business to entice the buying. Valerie and I always served yummy Sangria. I wonder what she's concocting for tonight? The Newnan square at night is truly magical. It's a great event to attend. I hope you will!
Again, tonight from 5-9PM the annual event takes place. The weather is looking good for an evening out. Not much has changed about the evening's festivities over the years, except the storefronts perhaps. Valerie now owns Gillyweed, an AMAZING boutique on the square. Her store literally I want one of everything. And I really want my house to smell exactly like her store. She has a fabulous eye for style in fashion and for the home. Seriously folks, if you can't make it to Newnan tonight for ArtWalk then you should visit the Newnan and Valerie soon.

So I tell you all about Gillyweed because she is hosting me tonight as one of her featured ArtWalk artists. I am tickled to be in her store. I've got a nice assortment of older and newer work to sell. Like the one above which I finished up yesterday. Love these new flowers.  Although....just my art will be in attendance. William is playing serious baseball this fall. We actually have to check the kids out of school to get to games tonight! Snap.... you think that'll be an excused check out? We had to get a hotel room and book the dogs at camp. Talk about stepping up the game! Not to mention hurting our wallets. So you guys go to Gillyweed and buy lots of my art ok?  hehehehe...  I'll be watching this handsome man play ball. Can't wait!
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! I'll be back next week with more new work up the studio sleeve. Such joy to be shared.

Where Have you Been this Week?

I just realized that my last blog posting was Monday. Tisk..tisk. I love to blog alot usually. SO... where have I been this week? OH YEAH, Art Walk is next Friday night, September 18th, in Downtown Newnan. I'll be one of the artists on display at the fabulous Vintage-Flea. So I've been painting a lot. But there's more, I temporarily lost my sanity and decided to do a two day show September 19th and 20th in Peactree City. It's called Shakerag Festival. A super fun little show. I'll give location to that next week. For now, I am trying to doggy paddle my way through the new paintings, and get all my printed products ready. So why are you rambling about all this you say? Well, it's just my way of saying I may be absent a bit from blogging......I just may be on an island for the next week. I am not a last minute or under pressure person. So off to rework the SMART goals. They will need to be less SMART and more get it done goals. Here's a sneaky peaky at my new look for you. I am working on more collage and acrylic on canvas. I also tried one today with collage, acrylic and texture. Ooooo...I am liking it. Hope you've all had a great week!

Last Night's Event

Here's a peek at last night's Fall Artwalk. I took only my textured painting series, pendants and my new "Little Treasures" line of one-of-a-kind earrings and necklaces. I'll post pics of those close-up later. The night was filled with people looking at the store and all its goodies. Valerie and her team have done an amazing job getting the store ready for Halloween. It's full of products that I would love to have in my home! I really enjoyed being just an artist last night, visiting with customers and old friends. It was a wonderful evening...thanks Valerie for letting me be a part of such a nice event!

Fall Artwalk in Downtown Newnan

This Friday night from 5-8 PM merchants in downtown Newnan will be open late for the annual Fall Artwalk. It is always such a fun evening. Lots of people, lots of food and even more wine! This year I am participating as just an artist. I'll admit it is a bit strange being on the other side of the counter these days! My art will be featured at The Vintage-Flea right along side Valerie's, several jewelry artists, a pastel artist and probably more! We at the Flea always loved having lots of fresh artists featured.
I'll be bringing just my textured paintings this time around. I've developed this technique into something I really enjoy the process of. It takes 3 days to complete a painting, which makes me crazy impatient sometimes, but the end results always outweigh this impatience! Some come on down and say hello!
