I've always been a bit crafty - toll painting when I was a kid, ceramics and photography in high school, and scrapbooking in the '90s. I took a looonnggg break until about 2002 when my friend Stacy invited me to a Stampin' Up! workshop. I'd love to say I've been hooked ever since but I wasn't - too busy or something like that. Who knows why we don't pursue our interests....I still want to take more piano lessons years and years after I started! I decided to make our Christmas cards in 2008, found a Stampin' Up! consultant here in San Francisco, and then I was hooked!
I opened my Etsy shop in May, 2009 as a way to de-stash all of the cards I found myself making in my spare time. My husband has joked that he knows I've had a hard day at work when he comes home and finds stacks of new cards in the office, lol.
On a whim, I submitted a couple of cards in October, 2009 to Cards Magazine and one was picked up for the April 2010 issue. Shortly thereafter Paper Crafts picked up a card for their 2010 Holiday Cards and More and now I've been published a number of times!
I'm truly blessed to have the time and a bit of spending money for this lovely hobby of mine. I sincerely feel that heartfelt greetings are lacking in our hurry up culture and am trying to do my part to bring a bit of it back.
Thanks for stopping by!
