Looking good

Well, I was somehow reminded today to blog surf.
I have a window in my Mac OS Firefox that saves a bunch of sites, all blogs.
This saves me clicking through a Bookmarks list, though if my OS ever crashed, i guess it'll all be over! ahah
(Ooo I just found the "Bookmark all tabs" option! Hooray!)

I was bitten recently, by the Makeup bug.
Think it happened at my Hermes photoshoot, and I spent the most I've ever spent on Makeup.
I can't tell you how much, cus my mum wouldn't be happy.
But honestly, cheap makeup doesn't carry good colours.
So now I've a properly stocked up Makeup kit, the first time in my life at age 24.
In my collection: M.A.C, Shu Uemura, Revlon, Sephora, Maybelline
I admit I've taken quite long to muster the courage to spend on MAC and Shu Uemura, (and even Revlon) but with the quality I'm getting, boy it's worth it.
I now take at least half an hour to do my makeup, but I feel like I'm painting something new each time I stand in front of my mirror, freshly washed face. I like to say this is my latest hobby.
yes...really
And I can't believe I'm gonna say this, because I usually mock people who say this, but I thought to myself last Sunday, "goodness, I don't have anything to wear!"
Of course it's not that I've nothing to wear, but I guess, I haven't gone clothes shopping in a while. And while I've, erhem, matured in the last year, my clothes haven't. I've still got garments from the year 2005/6, which I thought were the coolest then, but really don't suit me very well anymore. Mmmm, i miss shopping overseas...

On our way out, before the incident

While we're on this sad note, I just want to make a mention that a few weekends ago, I decided to go shopping with my clutch sized Coach handbag and foolishly thought my PLASTIC sunglasses would survive rubbing against all the things I'd stuffed in my bag.
Result: another pair of broken sunglasses I adored -__- (they were from Santa Barbara)

I can actually tell you all the times I've regretted a simple silly act, that landed me with a broken something-dear.

Case 1. My all time fav sunglasses from Primark UK that were only £2.50

Case 2. My favourite designer ring from San Francisco in 2008 that was USD12

sigh- sigh

Surprise!

Haha, thought i'd put up a post! after what...(clicks open dusty blog) 3months!
goodness me, sure hasn't felt that long, thanks to my hectic life in Singapore.
Honestly, you have to live and work here to really understand.

I guess it started with my darling declaring "I think I'm gonna start a Wordpress blog!"
Also, I recently got asked to co-blog for a new blog a dear Christian friend of mine in America is starting.
So, i recently opened up 2 or 3 blogs that i used to frequent alot at uni.
And well, i guess it reminded me of the beauty in and the dilemma i have with blogging.
i just admire how these crazy busy people have the time to design such a good looking blogs, keep it so darn up to date with pictures that have definitely been photoshop-ed and words that seem ever fresh. For me, it's just mind baffling.

Oh by the way, I'm out of my 9-5 job for the mo, which has been really good for me. (it's been a full week away from an office, yahoo~!)
People have commented on how happy i look, that I look like i'm glowing, of which i have to hurriedly reassure them that I'm not pregnant.
So now, I'm studying for my new job, and sleeping. A lot.
I guess the stressful period i underwent in my last month at work took quite a lot out of me, and now my body is re-cooperating. But apart from that, there have been unforeseen responsibilities aka pressures from relationships, family, church, etc.
And now that people think I'm out of a job, they're like HEY! you're FREE to help right?

Anyway, I've spent a lot of years here, and to be honest, Blogger is really lagging behind with it's infrastructure. So I'm contemplating shifting to Wordpress, with my er-hem* bf.
Ahhh so I'm a copycat, whatever.

See how it goes lah...
But for now, here's a pic we took today after going for a swim to "celebrate" our 7th month.
To be honest, it's the only real time we go on dates so this is precious to me.

And here's some pre-swim prep which proved useless.

Boo!

I'm not sure what made me log into Blogger but i just felt the urge to give an excuse for my absence.
Ever since facebook, twitter, and getting more involved in church, i've found it hard to keep my bloglife up to date with my real life...
Work has been more demanding, and with more responsibilities at church, I've been devising ways to make full use of my time.
Can you believe I've started reading in the MRT!?! I know...shockin' right?!

The thought of abandoning my blog altogether did cross my mind one busy day recently, but no...it was but a mere temptation to be drama...har har

Why

Ok I've not blogged for over a month, so this post might shock some...
BUT! I worked out why this has been.
You see when I was back in Amazingstoke, I didn't keep a book, where my thoughts, prayers, etc would collect.
Now, I've one...and so this blog is more of a marker than an outlet for me.
It's to mark stages of life, they need not be of HUGE importance but I don't really want to give up on this.
I know people who find they spill too much of their lives onto their blogs and then start to refrain...or those that feel like it's an invasion of privacy and try and lock up posts or give themselves random nicknames or just stop blogging altogether.
I don't think any of that is cool...it's like giving up on a plant or a fishtank...it's sad when it dies

anyway...right now things are not all up but I'm looking at my cup as half full.
in fact, I'd venture to say it is 3/4 full.
I'm alive, with near perfect health, working (though it's been sucky recently), family and dear friends, oh and one especially dear friend now.

Where else?

So dear Andy, this is for you, and i'ma try and make it worth the wait *wink*
well~! goodness me, there's no point figuring out where to start!
there's just been so many blessings in this season of my life and i'm totally looking to God with a big Thank-you smile.
Singaporeans can be very funny people, and it just cracks me up when I witness all sorts of scenes.
From a family shouting out to a little girl running towards a lift to try and press the button as soon as she can, to shop venders describing what I have in my hand albeit me seeing clearly what exactly is in front of mine eyes. I tell you, sometimes I can barely stand it!!! :D too funny
Work, Church, Family, Friends...are all improving with time as I've just been faithfully feeding on God's word.
I just see how God's hand is in each box turning things for the better and all when I realize I just can't do this on my own...Life that is :)

This is why I love Singapore

People often ask me why I chose to come back to Singapore after so many years in England...

In the evening, a breeze carries smells of people cooking dinner from apartment blocks
as you walk down the road

At night, you go out in tshirt and shorts to run online errands outdoors
as an evening breeze brings comfortable coolness

Walking around the city at night is just a real natural high for me

Oh yah, and Al fresco dining
