the perils of robotic adverstising
Wow. I coyly included a link to a certain website in the entry below, and the robots at Google's ad service have replaced my blog's ads for 'Talking Heads Ringtones' and the like with ads about making 'libs squirm' and military ringtones. Let's see if this reverses the tide: President Al Gore, President Al Gore, President Al Gore.
Hmm. I wonder if repeating the phrase often enough might have other beneficial effects as well.

You've got an ad for t-shirts and bumper stickers about fighting terrorism "since 1492" (yes, damn those Native American terrorists, with their spirit bombs and giving of food). That is followed by an ad for Anti-Terrorism Training, which is followed by an ad for Terrorism Preparedness. And then there's an advert for advanced threat assessment training...
I think Google hates you. This is slightly ironic (making it far more ironic than rain on one's wedding day).

Let me help you out, try to get some decent ads on your site:
Hot young studs
Glistening bodies
Orgasm!
Celebrity Nude Pix
Her dreamy eyes closed in a moment of rapture.
Nude! Nude! Nude!

Well, those comments certainly changed the ads. For the record, I'm not averse to having military-themed ads at my blog. In fact, I'm quite grateful that people are willing to risk their lives in military service to my country. I'm not averse to sacrifice and risk in a noble cause, but somehow I don't think my personality is suited to taking orders.
What's galling is that the thing that triggered the batch of military ads was my humorously intended link to the official website of the Republican party. The party of sending U.S. troops into war with neither a clear purpose nor adequate gear does not deserve the association, even if it's only cyber-robots who still who believe in the association. In fact, it's hard to imagine how anyone but a robot could credit the Republicans with supporting the troops. The irony of course is that the Democratic leadership in Congress is stocked with military veterans whereas the Republican hawks are generally draft dodgers like Bush and Cheney. Robots, indeed.

May I respectfully suggest that my readers stop playing the smutty keyword game? Seriously, I don't want a wave of sex ads.

Why don't you want sex ads? Do you hate sex? I only chanced upon this site by typing in "smutty keyword game".
