Buttons and Bows

Good morning,

I'm back this morning with our next challenge at Cardz 4 Galz and this week Kim has chosen the theme of

'BUTTONS & BOWS'

Here's what I made for my DT inspiration ...

I used one of my new Creative Expressions embossing folders for this one and embossed just the top part of my Co-ordinations cardstock, then sanded it back to reveal all the little scattered notes (which compliment the stamped sentiment too!)

My bow is made from beige seam binding and I sewed a tiny peach button to the centre as well as adding three feature buttons to the top right of the card.

Buttons and Bows at Fantasy Stampers

Good morning everyone,

I hope you all had a chance to enjoy the glorious sunshine before it turned to showers yesterday.

Now I can't believe another two weeks have passed already, but it's time for our next challenge over at my own challenge blog

FANTASY STAMPERS

For the next two weeks our new theme will be

'BUTTONS & BOWS'

So off to the embellishment box I went and here's what I came up with for my DT inspiration ...

I started by stamping the gorgeous sentiment (by Indigoblu) and embossing it with gold detail powder. Then I ran it through my cutting machine to create a circle to use as a template for my buttons. I added a little red line tape around the edge and secured my chosen buttons to create a kind of 'wreath' effect. This is then mounted on a paper doily which has been inked around the edge for a little definition.

The background is also stamped with one of the flower stamps from the same set (which actually came free with a recent magazine purchase) using Victorian Velvet distress ink. I also ran it through an embossing folder for extra texture and then inked around the edges with the same ink. I layered it on a piece of sand coloured cardstock to co-ordinate with some of the buttons.

I made a triple bow using some of my favourite organza polkadot ribbon and also added a little pearl bow to finish.  And a few punched butterflies just to finish off.

Why not pop over to the challenge blog and check out some of the fantastic project that my team made.

Buttons and Bows

Hello again crafty friends and followers,

Here's my second post today - I shall have to be careful, this is becoming a habit!! Lol.

I have been playing in my craftroom over the holiday weekend (mainly to avoid all the chocolate!) and have made a little project to enter into the challenge over at 'Lili's Little Fairies'. The theme this week is 'Buttons and Bows' and I have made an exploding box - here's what it looks like from the outside ...

The box measures 10.5cm x 8cm x 8cm and is made from kraft card.
I picked one of my favourite colour schemes and
decorated it with card and papers from my stash,
together with pink polkadot organza ribbon and little green buttons.

I decorated the top with an LOTV image
which is part of the set - 'Present Trio'
(his little furry friends are hiding inside).

I continued the theme inside, using the other little bears from the trio
which I stamped twice and coloured with my Promarkers,
then added buttons threaded with a little pink twine.

Here's a close up of the centre piece -
using another LOTV stamp called 'Recipe Sentiments'.
I also used a piece of acetate to give the illusion
of the little pink bow floating in the air.

I haven't made one of these little boxes for ages and really enjoyed putting it together. Hope you like it.
