Black and White

Hello there,

Well, it was time to return to school yesterday (after a four week break with the Easter holiday) after losing mum. I'm not sure exactly where the month of March went, and don't feel rested from the break at all - but I am hoping that getting back into a routine will bring some normality back to our lives.

I have a new make today for the next challenge over at Cardz 4 Guyz and this week Amy has chosen the theme

'BLACK AND WHITE'

Here's what I made for my DT inspiration ...

I used design paper from a Prima paper pad called 'Cartographer' - it has loads of lovely maps and travel themed papers in beautiful neutral tones.

The stamp is from the 'Travel' set from Creative Expressions and is stamped in black archival ink.

Lots of layers and a stamped sentiment, together with some black ribbon and a few white candi dots to finish off.

Hope you can come and join us with your own 'Black and White' male-themed projects.

Summer Spectacular

Hello again,

Well, I had a very busy weekend with a little mini-break from crafting, but I'm back today with a new challenge over at My Besties UK. Our challenges are now all 'Anything Goes', but with an optional theme - so the design team were challenged to use the theme
'SUMMER SPECTACTULAR'

Here's what I made for my DT inspiration ...

I couldn't resist this little cutie - she is from Sherri's 'My Little Dimples' range and can be bought for just £1.81 in Sherri's Etsy store HERE. I coloured her with my Promarkers and added her to a piece of design paper showing the Eiffel Tower, as her pretty little frilly top says 'Paris' on it.

Embellishments include some die-cut flowers with pearl centres, a stamped 'adventure' ticket, some ivory lace and some adhesive pearls.

I hope you can come and play along this time with your own 'Summer' projects.

A bit of Romance

Happy Tuesday,

Well, I have made a discovery - how easy it would be to stay at home and craft all day! Lol x I wish ...  I had to give myself a good talking to yesterday, I need to work to fund my hobby - it's that simple!

Anyway, here's what I came up with yesterday morning after visiting a good friend's blog and seeing her gorgeous DT card for the 'Make My Monday' challenge, using a stamp that I have myself.  I must admit I haven't used it yet, so what better way to get it all inked up.  Here's what I made to enter the challenge ...

It's back to my favourite 8x8" card blanks today (which I now have in cream as well as white)! Lol.  The pink backing paper is from my stash and I gave it a liberal spritzing with my Cosmic Shimmer Pearl Mist first and then inked the edges with Pumice Stone distress ink for a subtle finish.

The layout on the card was chosen to enter the 'Sketch N Stash' challenge and as I said earlier - I used a Kanban stamp that has been sat in my box, neglected for a little while :(  I coloured the hat and bodice with my Promarkers and then paper pieced and decoupaged the skirt to try and emphasise all the ruffles.  The gorgeous Eiffel Tower paper is from the 'Wild Rose Studio - Letters from Paris' paper pack, which fits the theme perfectly and is also edged with Pumice Stone distress ink to soften the edges.

I added some pretty ivory lace, a cluster of matching flowers, 3 gorgeous pearls, a metal corner and a little sentiment (made on my pc) which simply says 'Je t'adore'.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Make my Monday - France/Feminine Romance
Sketch N Stash - challenge 99
Simon Says Stamp and Show - Just add Pearl
(pearl Cosmic Shimmer mist and 3 adhesive pearls)

Thanx for taking the time to look and a huge thanx to those of you who regularly leave me comments :)
