It's time for our next challenge over at Make My Monday and this week our Mynnette has another book cover as inspiration. I love these - it definitely gets the grey matter thinking - here's the photo we used ...
I love the simplicity of this one and decided to keep my project along very similar lines - here's what I made ...
I made a 6x6" card by simply matting and layering first a piece of black card and then some textured cream cardstock. I added a strip of embossed card, together with a piece of ivory lace (which I embellished with a few pearls). I wanted to recreate the cameo on the front of the book, but have to admit the main image is printed from my pc as I didn't have any stamps along these lines. The sentiment is stamped in black archival ink and is inked around the edge with 'Black Soot' distress ink.
