We're Hopping!

Well hello everyone,

I've been back at school for a week now and can't believe it's Friday again so soon - but today is a special Friday over at the Polkadoodles Challenge blog because we're HOPPING!

The theme of our challenge this week is 'CUPCAKES', but to enter we would like you to use one of Emma Canning's gorgeous digital images which we are giving away free on the Challenge blog! And not only that, there are even more fab goodies available in the blog hop as some of my teamies may have hidden candy too - simply visit each link in the blog hop for a chance to win!

Don't forget - in order to be elible for any prizes, you must enter BOTH the challenge and participate in the blog hop.

Here's my DT inspiration using the free image ...

I used the gorgeous Emma Canning cupcake image as a focal point for a card this week.  Both background papers are from the 'Paper Boutique - Volume 1' CD and are inked around the edges with distress ink. The image is coloured with Promarkers and nestles on a pretty little paper doily which I thought fits the cupcake theme nicely!  The sentiment can be found on the 'Sugarplum Daisy' CD and the flowers are cut from scraps of the background papers using a template from the 'Candy Doodles' CD (one of my favourites!)  Added embellishments are from my stashbox.

If you've arrived at my blog from CLARE then you are on the right track, but if you get lost along the way simply go back to the Polkadoodle Challenge blog where a full list of participants are waiting.  Remember you need to leave a comment on each of the blogs, including Emma Canning's Flat Friends Challenge blog, in order to be in with a chance of winning the mega Polkadoodle prize!  If you click to follow my blog, I will try my best to visit and leave you a comment too :)

Now hop to KITTY who will show you some more fab inspiration on the theme.

Please be patient if not all the links are yet published – if you find a link is missing, please make a note of who you need to visit and come back later :)

Happy hopping,
Hugz, Jan xx

A Bit of Stitching

Good morning,

I can't believe it's Friday again already! This week has just flown by and it's time for another challenge over at the Polkadoodles blog.  This week Shell has challenged us to use some stitching on our projects (real or faux).  Here's my design team card for a little bit of inspiration ...

I love the 8x8" card and I have used three different papers from the Candy Doodles CD and layered them on co-ordinating cardstock.  I have stitched around the edge of all three pieces and added some distress ink for extra depth.  The challenge is also to use a gorgeous Emma Canning image and I couldn't decide which one to choose, so I added three on this card!  I love how Emma's girls can be layered up to create a single image, which was coloured with my Promarkers.  The sentiment is also from the Candy Doodles CD and I thought it fit the little group of 'friends' perfectly.  Lots of added embellishments from my stashbox to finish the card.  Hope you like it!

I shall look forward to visiting your blogs to check out the entries for this week's challenge.

A little Tag

It's Friday - it's Polkadoodles time!

Don't forget to check out the challenge blog every Friday for a new crafty challenge - this week it is to make a Tag, either stand alone or on a card.

I made a stand alone one and covered a plain kraft tag with purple paper from the last 'Pen and Paper Circle' CD and then subjected it to distress ink, stamping, a bit of gold embossing powder and some more stamping! I added a gold mirri heart which went through my embossing machine, topped with a little purple heart and then added a gorgeous Emma Canning image which is coloured with Promarkers to match. I recreated the little bunting banner at the top of the tag, to echo the one she is holding in the image.  Some gold ribbon, a bit of purple feather and a die-cut lace edge finishes off the tag.  Hope you like it!

Go check out the blog for some more fab inspiration from the Design Team and have a go - you could win yourself a prize.

Happy Tagging,
Hugz, Jan xx

Summer!

Hi there folks,

Well, it's Friday - that means only one thing - it's Polkadoodles challenge day.  This week the theme is 'Summer' and the design team have created lots of lovely themed projects over on the challenge blog for you to look at.  I have used my favourite 8x8" scalloped card and here's what I made ...

I used some gorgeous pastel papers from the 'Sundae of Seasons' CD, together with a fab little flower image from the same CD.  The main image is an 'Emma Canning' design and she is very aptly called 'Summer' and has been coloured with my Promarkers.  A collection of flowers accent the corner of the image and are enhanced with my favourite Marianne leaf die (LR0226).  I also used a Marianne die (LR0191) to display the sentiment (which is from the latest Pen & Paper Circle stamp set).  Extra embellishments include some pale pink satin ribbon, tiny punched daisies, a pink dragonfly brad and some taupe adhesive gems to finish the bottom corner.

I'm off on my holidays for a week early tomorrow morning, so I won't be around until next weekend to catch up with comments on all my favourite blogs out there.

See you all soon,
Hugz, Jan xx

A very British Olympic Blog Hop

Good morning everyone,

What an exciting Friday - not only is it Polkadoodles challenge day, we are having a BLOG HOP in celebration of the Olympics which are due to begin later this month.  So, if you arrived here from LOU's blog you are in the right place.

In order to take part in the hop, you must enter a project over at the Polkadoodles challenge blog using a 'Red, White and Blue' theme - showing what Britain means to you.  Then 'hop' along and visit each member of our participating DT and leave them a comment on their blog.  Please remember that you must complete both parts of the challenge (a project and the hop) in order to be in with a chance of winning some fabulous prizes.

Our 'First Prize' is a copy of the new
with a second and third prize on offer of a brilliant

The design team have been busy with lots of inspirational ideas over at the Polkadoodles challenge blog and here's what I designed for the challenge ...

As I have been working on the topic of the 'Olympics' with the children at school this term, I decided to make a scrapbook page this week to record some of the facts that we found out.  It is an 8x8" layout and uses papers from the 'Britannia collection' designed by Nikky Hall.  The image is from the 'Sugar Plum Daisy' CD and is coloured with Promarkers (with a little bit of paper piecing on her t-shirt from a scrap of the union flag paper).  I added a little union flag in her hand, so she looks as if she is celebrating a win! The lettering was produced on my PC and printed onto scraps of the papers.  The five circles are meant to represent the five Olympic rings and each contain a fact about the Olympics (ancient and modern).

Right onto the important stuff, if you have left a comment below and followed my blog you now need to pop over to 'CLAIRE P' for the next stage in the hop.  If you would like to link to the main blog hop or to this page on your own blog to help spread the word - that would be great too :)

All there is left to say it 'Good Luck' and I shall enjoy reading all your comments. Big hugz, Jan xx
