FOSTV120 - Purple and White

This week at FOSTV is a purple and white challenge.  Purple is a colour liked by the women in our family and hence this card is staying in the family.  Made for my Mum to give.  I used a new Karen Burniston die that I got for my Birthday and several Marks Finest Papers sets including one launched this week.
Huge Blooms
Dogwood Blossoms
Camellia (New)
Oopsy Daisy
Hum Along

I have lots of photos to share so I hope I won't bore you, but I am quite pleased with this one.

The word daughter is not from MFP.

You can find details of the challenge here and you could win this set.

Have a great Easter week.

FOSTV80 - Monochromatic Cards

Hello - sorry to be late posting today.  Many of you know I am looking for a new job well today I had to go to the Job Centre so this morning I have been rather pre-occupied.  I am looking for a morning role so I can do Maths Tutoring in the late afternoon and evenings.  Somehow I will need to slot my card making in there too!

This week is a busy week for Marks Finest Papers.  It is blog hop week as well as our normal challenges.  Friends of Speedy TV have quite a "soothing challenge" this week - Monochromatic cards.

I have two cards to show you today.

The first one in shades of brown uses Marsh Silhouettes and the new dragonfly mini set being launched this week.  The sentiment is from Hum Along.

My second card with a more wintry feel uses Tree GreetingsWinter Scenes and for the sentiment from Ice and Snow.

I hope you all have a good week and find time to play along with our challenge which can be found here.  There is a prize up for grabs called From The Woods

FOSTV77 - Birthday

It's Birthday Party time at Friends of Speedy TV this week and you can join in by making a card.  Join in the fun by going to the FOSTV page and checking out Challenge 77 - you can also check out all the creations by my team mates.

My card today uses some of the paper left after Cricut images were cut when making this card but I didn't use the spotty paper in the end anyway!  The red paper is stamped with all the kitchen items from Recipe Card Starters and Recipe Completer and then the two women are given nice Birthday treats to hold - cake and flowers (stamped on shrink plastic).  The cake is from Celebrate Big and the flower and the sentiment from Hum Along

There will be a prize for one person entering the FOSTV challenge this week and if you use Marks Finest Papers stamps you double your chances!

Enjoy the challenge and have a good week.

I really took a shine to this new set having seen so many hummingbirds last year when we were in Minnesota.  I had seen them before on trips to California but it wasn't until we went to the Amish area near Harmony last year that I saw so many so close - when we sat on the deck they were buzzing our heads!

I shared a card last week using one stamp from this set and another of my cards is on the MFP site but I will show you it here as well.  Both cards were stamped in Memento inks and coloured with Copics.  Some Stickles were also used but you can't see that in the photos!

This last card just uses the sentiment from the set.  This one uses the VLVFeb2013 Week 3 sketch and this week's JUGS colours (well as close as I had in pigment inks)  I also used the Dogwood Blossoms  and resist techniques to create the panel. 3 different leaf die cuts were used.

The special stamp set we have for you this month is:
"Love Script"

The mini stamp set we have for you this month is

"Big Cupcake"

MFP Sneak Peek!

I rarely get round to showing sneak peeks of upcoming releases so tonight I am breaking that habit to share with you a card made using some Marks Finest Papers (a Heinrich Company) stamps being released next week.  Do make sure you check out the Blog Hop posts next Tuesday through Friday.

This card uses two new sets Hum Along and Love Script.  Love script was stamped and embossed on some patterned paper.  The hummingbird and sentiment from Hum Along was stamped with Memento Black and coloured with Copics.  A simple card but it hopefully gives you a taste of what is to come.

Happy Valentines Day.

Hope your Friday goes well and you have a wonderful weekend.
