CC812_WT813_Autumn_Beauty

I made this card last Thursday to distract myself from upcoming knee surgery and because I needed a card for some friends anniversary. The sentiment is from Picket Fence Studios and was one I won from Angie's blog. I combined the colour and ways to use it challenges on it and today I learned it was chosen by Jeanne as her favorite last week.

The knee surgery looks to have been successful. I am waiting for the swelling and soreness to subside to be certain of this but removing the scar tissue seems to have helped the joint move better.

60th Birthday Party

This is the card I made for the Birthday Girl whose 60th party is tonight. It is an A5 sized card and the bright pink is because she likes bright colours, although like a lot of us ladies wears black dresses.
The image is digital from Make It Crafty and was coloured with Copics. Spica pens and white gel pen were added to the boa to give it some sparkle.

This smaller card was the acceptance card for the party that I sent before Christmas
It was also a digital image, this time from LOTV and again coloured with Copics.

Sympathy all round

My cousin Edna, lost her short fight with cancer on Saturday morning. She is a cousin on my Dad's side of the family and quite a bit older than me - in fact her daughter is almost the same age as me. We used to see quite a lot of them when we were young and last year I caught up with her daughter Heather at my Mum's funeral.

Yesterday I sat down to make 3 cards for different members of her family - one of her sisters, her daughter Heather and son Ian - this is the result of my creative session.

The first one for Ian is inspired by the Abstract Art Pinterest site and yesterdays IC549 challenge at Splitcoaststampers.

The second one for cousin Jean uses a sentiment from the Hallmark Card Studio and a CC designs butterfly. I embossed the black card and rubbed on some Inka Gold.

The last one for Heather uses some recycled paper on the flowers (wrapping off a box of chocolates) and is entered for WT587 challenge at Splitcoaststampers. The image is from Honey Doo crafts and the sentiment is once again from Hallmark Craft Studio. I added a touch of colour to the butterflies with marker pens.

Thank you for visiting and if you are a Splitcoaststampers member don't forget it is a Dirty Dozen New Challenge launch on Wednesday.

Tough Week

It has been a tough week and one of these cards was made last weekend and the other one not until today. The today one was actually needed for Wednesday - our niece turned 21. She didn't mind that her card and present would be late, but I still feel bad.

This card is needed for a Birthday yet to come and uses Ravengirl's challenge of time

This 21st card one uses the CAS323 challenge MAY - M for Mosaic (nearly all photos of animals we have taken) A for Animals, Age or Alcohol inks and Y for yellow the hardest letter of this challenge. Anna who turned 21 on Wednesday is training to be a vet and the photos of horse jumping are her when she was younger.

Have a great weekend.

High Hopes 250 & WT515 Maths Notes

Hi everyone - sorry I have been quiet - broken laptop means everything related to PCs takes longer and preparing for my lessons and dealing with email has taken all my computer time.

One of my Maths students is my niece Karita and I bought this notebook in a sale and today decorated it up for her.  I used the High Hopes bookworm with letters cut with Cuttlebug dies.  I used an oval to fit my pink on navy panel.  The bookworm was mainly coloured in a style used by Jane Gill at the Craft Barn today - she was doing some lovely work with flower stamps from Woodware.  The border was cut with a wide border punch which I think is made by Martha Stewart.

This project is being entered into High Hopes challenge 250 and the Splitcoast Ways to Use it challenge WT515

Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Back Monday.

FOSTV Challenge 14 for 2012

Happy Monday everyone.
This week's challenge over at Speedy TV is to make a Get Well Card.  My card uses three challenges from SCS as well
  • CC368 Colour challenge (Eggplant, Grape and Melon) but without the stripes
  • WT368 focus on the sentiment
  • F4A110 - Caught a bug - not sure a butterfly really counts as a bug but it is a get well card.
The Mark's Finest Papers stamp I have used are the butterfly from Birthday Mini (and at least one other set) and the Get Well Soon sentiment from the Greetings and Salutations set.

Hop over to Speedy TV and check out today's challenge (number 14) to see which set you could win.
Edited to add - stamp set you can win this week is called You Light Up Your Life

  Good luck

Woody is 5 soon!

A friend at work has two doggy friends whose Birthdays she never forgets and I get to make her cards.  This one is for Woody and uses the sketch SC369.

I am also entering the card for the WT359 Challenge - Looking Back.  The idea was to use at least two of the previous challenges and I think I have done that!
I have included stickers (WT357), beads (WT353), digital papers (WT354), a little piercing (WT326), die cuts (WT325), boys stuff (WT320) and it is for a Birthday (WT309).

The stamp is from Penny Black and it was coloured with Copics.  Thanks for looking.

Lauren Payne was 21 yesterday

How time flies.  This cute little babe that I held at 1 day old turned 21 yesterday.  Lauren is our niece, studying music and drama in Bath.  A very accomplished performer on the outside but a girly girl within who still loves cute bears, pretty colours, and Playmobil.  Much like the rest of us in a lot of ways where we substitute Playmobil for  rubber stamps and crafting items.
Her Mum told her they were going for a Happy Meal and then to the park to play on the swings and then feed the ducks to celebrate yesterday but I think they went into London for a meal and a show.

I made two cards for her - one from her Nan and one from us.  The one from us has the drama / music on the outside but her 'other side' on the inside.  The digital sentiment is from Raindrop Echo Designs and the stamp is from Butterfly Kisses.  I hope a digital sentiment is enough for WT354 challenge.
The greeting is computer generated and the stamp is from Lili of the Valley.

The card for my Mum to give her is the one below.  It uses Tatty Teddy and papers from the Me to You collection.
Lauren - if you are reading this - May God bless your future and bring you and those you love happiness.
